Being the parent of a kid with special needs can be a lonely and isolating experience, especially when it's a condition that is not very common. In A New Course, Teresa Unnerstall is offering a helping hand to every parent going through the experience of diagnosis, treatment, therapy, and unrelenting advocacy for their child. This is, no doubt, an important resource for parents everywhere.

As a Children's Nurse (UK) specialising in complex needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities for all of my career this biography was a refreshing insight about the journey of parents with a child and how their life unfolds. For me it was an easy to read book although some may find it tough going if they are experiencing similar circumstances.
Tactfully constructed and beautifully created. Thank you for such detailed insights into your journey.

Being a mother of a 20 year-old boy wirh Down syndrome, I found this book very interesting. I live in Germany and reading about what is done in other countries is very informative. It can give other ideas as to how to help our children and their family. It is also positive to read that other families experience the same ups and downs and definitely gives hope. I loved the part showing how a smile and a hug from your child with Down syndrome can make you forget about how hard it can be ( with or without autism). This is so true and priceless. I would gladly recommend this book.
I could not write on Goodreads nor on Amazon as the book is not yet published. I shall try further. Thank you Teresa for letting me read your book on NetGalley.
