I received a sampler of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All I can say is sh*t’s going down and I’m super excited that [REDACTED] has POV chapters. Can’t wait until this book releases!
Since it is only a sampler, I really don't have much to say other than it was okay.
It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. I'm looking forward to reading the entire book when it releases and forming a more clear opinion!
I cannot wait to read this full book. I needed it in my hands like yesterday. Also, the cover of this series so far are just gorgeous.
5 stars.
While only a sampler, I am excitedly looking forward to reading the whole book on release day. This offered a quick view to a highly anticipated conclusion.
It was a little hard to review this title, as I only had access to a sampler of the story, but it seems like a very interesting tale. Kind of hard to get into and provide a good review with such a limited read.

i got a sample copy of this book and so far i'm like i need the rest of this book!!! when i say this book is really awesome and fantastic it really is.the characters remind me of the game of thrones a lot i just couldn't stop reading but i had to because i had a sample copy .omg i do not want to give anything away about the book because when i say that you guys should just try it for yourself i mean it. i promise you will not be disappointed at all by the character and the journey they take.
I loved the original His Fair Assassin trilogy, but Courting Darkness was a bit of a let down for me. It seemed all build up and by the time the plot finally got going it was over. Loved this sneak peek and can't wait to see how it all ends.
I have read all the books in this series. It is great to get beloved characters and storylines back. If you have not read the prior books in the series, this book likely makes little sense. Take the time to read the prior books, then read this one. It is an entertaining series.
The first book in this series, Courting Darkness, was one of my most surprising reads of last year. I loved this excerpt and am now 10 times more excited about this book to be released in August.
This sampler definitely left me wanting more. Sybella and Beast are fantastic characters, as is the Queen of Brittany. I loved the original trilogy, but I'm struggling a bit with this continuation series so far. The last book seemed to undo a lot of the work of the original, and Sybella was acting a little out of character. Even in this sampler she is, a bit. But I still love her. What I really struggle with is Genevieve. I find her, as a character, incredibly frustrating and the decisions she makes infuriating. When I imagined with this continuation series would be like, it wasn't this. I hope the rest of this book fixes the conflict caused by actions in the previous one. I still find the story and the world interesting, despite my disappointment with the turn the plot has taken. I want to know what happens, so I'll probably read the whole book once it's published. If you like political intrigue and gods, this is probably your cup of tea.
I love this series and this excerpt just makes me even more excited to dive deeper into Sybella's world. Thank you so much for letting me get this early peek into it!
I love the entire Grave Mercy series. I was only sent a sampler, but I'm excited to read more. This entry in the series seems like it will be interesting.

Wow! I've been following the Grave Mercy series ever since the beginning, and this is a promising start to the next book! I can't wait to dive back into this world and meet some of my favorite characters again. I really hope we'll get to see Ismae and Annith again as they were briefly mentioned by Sybella and I'm on the edge of my seat about the fate of the Convent of Mortain.
For fans the rich world created by LeFevers in the first trilogy, its exciting to have the book start in the middle of the action. This could be disorienting to others who have not read the first book but is a great continuation. Strong, smart, believable (read: sometimes flawed) women abound, and are both protagonists and antagonists. Plenty of compelling political intrigue and court politics and touches on gender politics during that time period.
This 100% increased my excitement for the release of this book!! I feel like it (the plot) picks up quite a bit more than it did in Courting Darkness and that really helps the story flow quickly and keep the reader's attention.
I think I am done with this series. These books and the world they were based in were amazing. Now I feel like the author is flogging a dead horse. She's a great writer she just needs new materiel
Igniting Darkness picks up right where Courting Darkness left off. I was excited to see Maraud get his own POV, and LaFevers' writing is just as good as I remember. I can't wait to pick up this novel when it releases.
I am so excited for the next instalment of Robin LaFevers’ world! This teaser has only served to make me want it more!
I only had access to the first 60 pages, but was enjoying every page. I look forward to reading the entire book.
I have adored the His Fair Assassins trilogy and reading the continued story in the Courting Darkness Duology has been amazing. From the sampler I’ve read so far I have really liked the continuation and can’t wait to read the full book once it comes out! I can’t wait to see how the story ties up everything and where Sybella ends up in the end. I have loved the books and from the sampler I’ve just read for the finishing book of this duology I am so excited to see how it all finishes!
