Nice, fun read! I loved Olivia and her personality shown thoruhg the books, but Hamish really got on my nerves. It also seemed like things happened pretty quickly, but it also made this an easy read that was just enjoyable and passed time!

Love a battle scarred hero and a road trip! This was catnip to me, reminded me a bit of Eva Leigh's recent road trip release.

How to Catch a Sinful Marquess is a delightful story of finding love.

I haven't read any of this series before picking this up which was a mistake on my part as I did feel as though I had missed out on something, nothing crucial that impacted my reading enjoyment but enough to make me think I really should read a series from the first book.

This is a slow-burn romance, I thought it was a little too slow for my tastes and could have been a little faster in pace, but I liked the story it's charming and an enjoyable journey.

This cover is absolutely stunning and I was so happy to learn that the romance inside was just as wonderful. A debutante and a soldier falling in love, two people who should be at odds, but end up being the other's one true love. It was such a swoony romance and I want to read more from this author.

This was surprising good!

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for my advanced copy of How to Catch a Sinful Marquess.

How to Catch a Sinful Marquess isn’t my usual read.
Based on the cover alone I would not have picked it up at all.

I’m a snob.

The cover just reminds me of something my grandmother would have read back in the day.

Don’t be like me and judge this book by it’s cover if that is what is holding you back. It was very enjoyable.

I loved Olivia and I loved the marriage of convenience storyline.

This book is third in a series but can be read on its own.

Overall- so thankful to have been gifted this book. If I find other books in this series on sale I’ll definitely give them a read/ listen.

This was my first time trying Amy Rose Bennett, and it was probably my mistake to just jump into the series. I kind of struggled with the characters and the plot. I think it could work as a stand alone, but personally I would enjoy it more if I read from the first book. I will try reading the series in order at a later point. DNF

I really enjoyed How to Catch a Sinful Marquess. What a delightful regency. I loved the romance between Olivia and Hamish and how they grew as people and grew together through the telling of this story. I will definitely have to go back and read the other books in this series.

How to Catch a Sinful Marquess by Amy Rose Bennett is the third book in The Disreputable Debutantes series. While jumping into an established series, I was able to read this book without missing a beat, though I want to go back and read How to Catch a Wicked Viscount and How to Catch an Errant Earl.

In this book, readers meet orphaned heiress Olivia de Vere. Olivia has a bank account that suitors admire and a sullied reputation that she worries will keep her from ever finding her HEA. When she finds a chance to get away from her dishonorable cousin Felix, she takes it. What she finds is a chance for escape and love with a handsome Scottish marquess.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for sharing this book with me. All thoughts are my own.

I am loving this series four debutantes who caused a scandal when they were thrown out of the ladies academy they were attending form a group to find themselves husbands, but only rakes will do and this time Olivia de Vere might just about find her hero a scared soldier who is also known as a rake, this was a story that was hard to put down.

Olivia is an orphaned heiress and is kept practically a prisoner of her guardian her uncle, and with her cruel cousin wanting to marry her she is very determined to get what she wants and that is getting to know her neighbour, a Scottish Marquess. Her friends have offered advice on how to get to know him, and with the help of a cat Olivia finally meets her Marquess in rather unorthodox circumstances. The next meeting sees her offering to help with a problem but holding onto secrets about who she is.

Hamish MacQueen, Lord Sleat is scared on the inside and out some from fighting in the war against Napoleon and some that goes back a long way, he is a rake and has no intention of ever marrying he has a younger brother who can have the title. When a young child is abandoned on his doorstep with a note saying she is his child Hamish is not convinced but he needs to get back home to his family and fast, he needs a nursemaid for the little girl and his beautiful neighbour arrives at the right time and they are soon travelling many miles to his castle.

The journey draws them closer and when danger arrives just over the border into Scotland, Olivia finally tells Hamish the truth about herself and he maybe a rake but he is a gentleman and very caring and he steps up to save Olivia, it is not long before they are losing their hearts but Hamish is so stubborn about not loving anyone. I loved Olivia and the never give up attitude she has to win her man, she is beautiful inside and out and Hamish wow what a hero gorgeous caring loving and to see him fall so in love well there were lots of happy smiles. Thank you MS Bennett for another keeper and I am now very much looking forward to Charlie’s story.

I liked Olivia and Hamish's characters and their romance had a lot of potential, but at the end of the day I felt that the two of them falling in love happened too abruptly. I needed to see more development of their relationship on the page, and that just didn't happen for me. I could see them lusting for one another, but I didn't believe that these two actually loved each other.

So yeah, this was just okay for me and I don't know if I'll read anything else by this author TBH.

I definitely enjoyed this book. With the weight of the pandemic I've really been escaping into romance novels recently. While the book wasn't perfect, it sated that need to be somewhere else for a little while. I really liked the side plot with Felix's possible child, and I foresee the ending of that plot resulting in another novel. I also liked seeing Olivia come into herself, and the care with which she interacted with others.

The orphaned heiress, Olivia de Vere, lives with her uncle and his family. Her cousin Felix is meant to marry her so her fortune can stay in the family, but when Felix threatens Olivia after she discovers that he is stealing from her inheritance, she realizes she must run away. Their neighbour, Hamish MacQueen, is a Scottish marquess. He finds a child left on his doorstep with a note claiming she is his child. Hamish needs a nursemaid to help look after the child on his journey to his castle in Scotland. Olivia shows up just as he’s looking for a nursemaid, which gives her the perfect excuse to run away from her family. Olivia and Hamish soon realize this new relationship could be an advantage to both of them, as long as they can get past the ghosts in their pasts.

Olivia was an avid reader. She carried Northanger Abbey, The Mysteries of Udolpho, and Frankenstein with her. She even referenced these books, when she had to find a fake name and decided on Morland, from Catherine Morland in Northanger Abbey. I noticed some similarities to other novels, such as Outlander and Jane Eyre. Hamish was a tough Highlander like Jamie in Outlander. Olivia had to look after Hamish’s ward, just like Jane looked after Rochester’s ward in Jane Eyre. I loved seeing these references to popular stories.

This story was fast paced. There were a couple of steamy scenes, but there was a lot more to the story than just the romance. The characters were more concerned with their social standings and securing their reputations than finding romance. I liked how well the plot and characters were developed.

I really enjoyed this regency romance!

How to Catch a Sinful Marquess was a lovely vacation read. It was my first time reading a book in this series, but I don't think you need to have read the previous books to follow along. The previous stories are well covered without losing focus of the main story between Olivia and Hamish. I was a bit concerned that there seemed to be an over-abundance of tropes but overall, the love between Olivia and Hamish prevailed.

Gonna be brief and blunt with this one -- there was no way this book wouldn't get 5 stars from me.

Ruined heiress with a stammer and a lot of curiosity. Gruff Scotsman war hero with PTSD thrust into sudden parenthood. Wee precocious surprise child. Mistaken identities. Not a nursemaid but if it gets the heroine out of a terrible arranged marriage to a horrible man, why not? Forced proximity. Slow burn romance with lots of pining. CATS.

If you love any or all of these things and want a charming, delightful historical romance read, this is your book. it was the literary equivalent of a warm, weighted blanket on a blustery, rainy day with the perfect cup of tea.

This is the kind of content 2020 needs to deliver to us all if we're going to survive this hells cape of a year.

I really liked this, like the rest of the series. Bennett knows how to right a story that keeps you hooked until the end.
This book has a heroine that is underrated but strong and resilient, a hero that is scarred but kind, and a cast of secondary characters you adore. Part of the story takes part in an isolated part of Scotland and Bennett puts you right there with apt descriptions, you can feel the cold rain and wind.

I love that the book is connected to the other stories but a stand alone. Mild heat level, not as steamy as others in the series but just as good!!

Can this series get any better? Amy Rose Bennett wows me again with this delightful, yet heart touching story of an unlikely pair that are perfect together to help mend each other. This is Olivia's story, who introduced previously and Hamish McQueen's who is the quintessential scarred hero inside and out. My very favorite storyline, because I love to see them made whole again. Did I say Hamish is a Scot? and oh yes handsome and strong? A rescuer of maidens stuck on a wall they are trying to climb over? Oh yes and a Scot? The object of Olivia's girlish dreams and swoon worthy! When Olivia is in a fix because she is being forced to wed her disgusting cousin, a solution presents itself. Hamish has been left a young girl on his doorstep with a letter claiming she is his. But he has to get to his estate in Scotland and see about his sister. So Olivia goes with him to care for the child. Their journey is not an easy one, but both of them begin to find their strengths and truths as they try to find their way. Loved every word!

How to Catch a Sinful Marquess is a lovely historical romance that had me hooked throughout. The book is the third installment in Amy Rose Bennet’s Disreputable Debutantes series. The Sinful Marquess in question is Hamish McQueen, Lord Sleat, a Scottish Marquess and well-known rakehell. Almost accidentally the young heiress Olivia de Vere finds herself thrust front in centre into Sleat’s complicated life. The two come to a mutually beneficial arrangement as a means to an end. However, as one would anticipate, the dynamic becomes fraught with lust and eventually something deeper.

Historical Romance has its appeal. In a sphere so fraught with rules and restraint, sexual tension is sure to simmer. Sinful Marquess is no exception. Who doesn’t love a tall strapping Scottish nobleman? And if his powerful physic, title, and abundant wealth weren’t enough to make you swoon, his lord has a black leather eye patch that serves to hide a war injury. Need I say more? Olivia is sweet, but with a rebellious streak that makes her relevant for a contemporary reader. While I wouldn’t consider a steady stream of historical romance, I may read the rest of this series. It would seem Bennett does historical romance I can get behind.

In the end, the chasm dividing the two lovers seems trivial, much like a romantic comedy. The dramatic, sensual lead up is the best proves to be the part. Oh. And the eye patch. That was pretty awesome.

Olivia is at the mercy of her aunt and uncle and given very little freedoms. She also has to fend off the unwanted advances of her cousin who is determined to marry her for her dowry. When a chance encounter gives her a way to leave her guardian behind, she jumps at the chance.

Hamish has a young child left on his door step and is told that the child is his. In the middle of a family crisis and needing to travel to Scotland, Hamish is ecstatic to have his neighbor volunteer to act as nursemaid to the child. While he believes that Olivia might not be telling him the whole truth of her situation, he doesn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

On the journey the two grow closer. But with both of them keeping things from each other, can they get their HEA?

I loved Olivia and Hamish's story!! I loved watching Olivia get out from her aunt and uncle's thumb and to watch her truly blossom when out on her own. Olivia was perfect for Hamish how she was able to help him work out the issues of his past. This was a great addition to the Disreputable Debutantes series and I can't wait for Lady Charlotte's story!!!

Need inspiration? Read this book. Our Heroine Olivia lost her parents in a terrible carriage accident. As an orphan her father's brother became her guardian. She lived with him, his wife and two daughters. Because Olivia had a stutter when she spoke, they treated her terribly. She was unloved and emotionally mistreated. And yet she maintained a heart full of love for her true friends. She grew up very conscious of her stutter and the disdain her family showed her. She withdrew within herself to protect her sensitive heart. Her aunt and uncle wanted her to marry their son and keep her wealth, she was an heiress, in the family. But the son was a cruel young man. When Olivia found him forging her uncle's signature to withdraw money from her inheritance he physically and emotionally threatened her. She had to leave. She had to get away. Luckily, she had met the man she adored from afar Lord Hamish and finagled a situation in his household under a false name. Hamish is a wonderful man and would give the shirt off his back to those he loved. However, he suffered from PTSD and that put a stop to any permanent relationship. He feared his nightmares would cause harm to anyone around him. I loved the way the author Amy Rose Bennett wrote about Olivia's and Hamish's afflictions. She wrote with compassion and expressed understanding giving the reader much to consider and identify with. This is such a moving story that you cannot help but love Olivia's and Hamish's characters. This story is moderately paced, is a page turner and is well written. Each segment, each new scene, each new encounter segued smoothly from one to another. There were no stop gaps nor confusion as to what was going on. Do not pass this up. This is a must read and I highly recommend it.

One of my favorite regency era romances that I've read in a while! Lord Sleat is a swoony, brooding hero, and I fell in love with his entire family. The heroine, Olivia, is a bit irritating in her innocence and inexperience with the world, but she won me over in the end as well.
