Pirate Nell was beautifully illustrated and fun to read! I really liked how Nell seemed down on her luck, and her dreams of being the kind of pirate she studied in books was lost. It was wonderful to see her find her way through a map, kindness, and her love of reading! What a great message at the end!

I'm a sucker for rhyming picture books. I loved the illustrations, and as a librarian, the idea that books are valuable treasure. Adorable book I can see being popular in storytimes.

Now let me tell you how absolutely adorable this book is! The illustrations are so good and the story itself is really cute. The whole thing rhymes and the ending of the story has a little pirate treasure plot twist. I thought Nell was a great character with a few really great messages to share. This book is done really well!
