I enjoyed this book from Mia Birdsong. The introduction was a little confusing at times, because I felt like she didn't explain who she was talking about for a few pages. Otherwise, I think it includes a lot of practical and useful advice on how to build better communities and friendships. I think the book also shows many ways that we can build more belonging into our lives, friendships, families, and communities. Overall, I really enjoyed it and got a lot out of it. Thank you to NetGalley for giving me a copy to review!
I highly recommend both this book as well as the author's TED Talk, "The Story We Tell About Poverty Isn't True". The author's compassionate, yet passionate tone is perfect for conveying the many ideas that she conveys. An important book with an important point of view especially during these divisive times.
