This was a workmanlike exploration of different family types and structure - if you're expecting more synthesis or a crystal-clear narrative about what family looks like in the 21st century, this is not the book for you. But as a thoughtfully-reported look at what different households to do to try to balance the competing demands of work and family, it will definitely emphasize the diversity of approaches.

How couples and family dynamics are today (at time of author writing 2019). Looks at a few different countries so it is not just the US. How experiences as kids influence them now along with culture of area/country. Interesting to have a look at if something like this is what you like to look at or researching.
