A big thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a children's book,a beginning chapter book. I found this to be a cute, simple fun book. Each chapter is its own mystery using the same characters. Graphics cute. 3 stars
This was a cute book for young readers or children who are just starting to get into chapter books. Each chapter of the book centers around a "mystery" in a dog park. The chapters are quick and the illustrations are great. Overall the book held my four year-old's attention and he really enjoyed it.
Lovely book to read. My son adored it. He sat very quietly which is unusual for him as he loses interest. But that wS t the case for this one. It was well written and had a great story.
Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I thought this was a cute chapter book for early readers about a detective dog named Scout. The chapters were short and I like how different they were from beginning to end. It was perfect for my five year old's short attention span! The illustrations were so colorful and eye-catching. My daughter loved the detail of the pictures! This is perfect for early chapter book readers!
Bark Park by Brandi Dougherty is a must read children's book! I believe it is geared more towards the age group of 6-9 or 1st-3rd grade, depending on the reader level. My second grader really enjoyed the illustrations and loved Scout. She got a kick out of reading this book because one of her best friends has a dog named Rocky which made her even more into the book.
Overall, this is a great mystery read for young readers and I would highly recommend this for a classroom library! Thank you Brandi Dougherty, Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for my free DRC! We loved this one!
This title is an illustrated chapter book for beginning readers. The cartoon-like illustrations give each of the dogs a personality and will help to keep young readers turning the pages.
There are three short stories here. Each attempts to have a bit of suspense. For example, there is a mystery concerning a ball in the first story. In the second one, a dog has a cone on. Why? Can they take it off? And in the third chapter, there is a visit to the pet groomer.
At the end of the book, there are entries that talk about aspects of each story. For example, the third one describes what a pet groomer does.
It is always good to encourage young readers. They will feel grown up to be reading "chapters." Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.
This is a great little chapter book for emergent readers! My son loved listening to the three "mysteries" solved by Scout the dog in the Bark Park. Very cute and sweet, and entertaining for sure. It even has a section in the back for more in-depth information about terms used in the book. I'd definitely look into more easy reader chapter books like this!
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the advance digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I requested and received an e-ARC of this book from NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute chapter book for early readers about a detective dog named Scout. The stories were short and simple. Each chapter is a separate story so they could be read one per night to not overwhelm new readers.
I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

This is a wonderful book for kids. Every school library should get this book. It has short chapters and beautiful illustrations. Thank you Andrews McMeel Publishing via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
At Bark Park, Scout is a small dog with a big appetite for solving mysteries. She helps each of her friends in the chapters to solve a mystery. Maggie, Rocky and Gus solve the mystery of the popped ball, the cone of shame and the missing bone. Colorful, eye-catching illustrations will hold the interest of kids along with the use of “descriptive bubbles” to further explain points in the story.
Chapter book with each chapter telling a different story from beginning to end which is good for short attention spans and a good start for children just beginning chapter books. This will help to keep them from losing interest and foster a sense of accomplishment as they finish each chapter. Question and answer about the crow, why dogs wear cones, what a pet groomer does and found at the end of the book and provide an additional learning experience. This is a darling book. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.
Expressive dog illustrations!! My young niece and nephew started to loose interest in the story and mostly liked the illustrations, but I thought the story was adorable as well.
A dud ball that has been found flat and with teeth marks in it, the reason for a dog to be given a "cone of shame", and a missing bone make up the subjects of the three short mystery stories in this book. They are mystery stories for very young children, though, so anyone over the age of eight will be tossing this aside for their simplicity and obviousness. It's quite awkward how the first story, for example, has to set up this and a whole franchise-full of tale, and provide the narrative entertainment, which on reflection is mostly crammed into the last couple of pages. Still, this has a lot of the aesthetic and hallmark of the 'Epic Originals!' imprint – the non-fiction bit at the end is present and correct, they have a wonderful way of finding providers of perfectly clear, bright and joyful illustrations, and for the target audience this serves as a light read to pass the time. I can't pretend it's any great shakes for an adult reader, but the intended youthful browser will have some small success at gaining fun from these pages. It's no classic, though, but a perfectly serviceable three and a half stars from me.
I don't typically review kids books here, but I am always a fan of a dog themed book, so I thought I would read this one and give some thoughts.
There are three chapters in this book and each is almost a little short story in and of itself. Each is a small mystery that Scout wants to solve in the dog park. From a punctured ball to a missing bone, they were cute and sweet and would be perfect for an early reader or even younger to be read to.
This is a book that I will be ordering for my niece and nephew to enjoy and to even learn a little bit more about dog life.
Bark Park is a very cute easy to read chapter book that will appeal to the young animal lover in your life. Scout and his friends at the bark park love to solve mysteries. I appreciate the short, simple chapters (3 in all) and the illustrations are adorable. I would highly recommend for the child who is beginning to read chapter books.
Thank you to Netgalley and Epic Originals for the opportunity to read this book in advance.
What a fun story book! I would highly recommend this title for the 1st and 2nd grade range. My son is a very advanced reader at the age of five and really enjoyed reading this title as well! Each chapter involves a brand new mystery with a recurring cast of unique dogs with varying personalities. We really liked the main character Scout, as she was is constantly seeking our mysteries to solve in the dog park using the clues around her.
