I love this author but I just don't connect as much with this series. I liked, not loved the first one, and unfortunately that level of interest wasn't quite enough to carry me through this book. I'm all for retellings of classic tales that center female leads. This one just didn't happen to align with my interests

I didn’t LOVE the first book but felt like it set up an interesting plot so I wanted to check out the second. Unfortunately I felt more like this was setting up plot for a third book than really accomplishing anything on its own.

Sometimes a sequel can capitalize all the good things from the first book. Sometimes it only emphasizes all the niggling problems from the first book. That’s what happened here. Guinevere’s self-doubt and her lack of memories were even more frustrating this time around in the absence of other focus areas.

I get why Lancelot was gender swapped and I get why Tristan and Isolde played out differently. But I’m actually really attached to the traditional interpretation for both of those stories so it was a hard sell for me. Everyone also feels very flat except for Guinevere and she doesn’t have enough backstory to carry this series beyond what was initially a promising first book.

I really enjoyed this book . I love the world and the characters. The way she uses magic. I would definitely recommend! Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

I love Kristen White so much just putting that into the universe first!!

I haven't read anything in recent memory that delves into the Arthurian mythology like the Camelot Rising series. It always often feels like men are the focus in those types of stories but we thankfully get more of Guinevere and her associates throughout the book. I feel like I can't talk about it too much without giving spoilers but I honestly had no idea what was coming! The mystical vibes this series exudes is just fantastic, and was a great followup to the And I Darken trilogy. I am waiting with bated breath for the third book to come out!

After this book everyone will crave for the third one! It was sexy, adventerous and fully amazing! I hope will see more about the world in the third book, though.

This is a solid follow up to the Camelot betrayal. I have thoroughly enjoyed this Arthurian retelling and have recommended it to friends.

Okay, this one has taken me quite some time to get around to reading. Not sure why because I absolutely LOVED the first installment. Arthurian retellings are my jam! The Camelot Betrayal does not disappoint. There were a few moments where the story dragged, but for the most part, it was very fast paced. I cannot wait for the third and final book. I may or may not have held off on reading this one so that the wait wouldn't be so long! A huge thanks to Netgalley for free arc in exchange for a review.

Was not able to read before the publish date, my library has purchased several copies of this book and it seems to be doing well.

I had waited months for this book to come out after devouring the first one. This is the best version of the Authorian legend I have read. Guinevere's character has grown since the first book and in my opinion she is exactly what Arthur needed to help save his kingdom. I look forward to the 3rd and final book in this series.

I loved the first book, this one however took me halfway to really get into. The characters really started to annoy me, and the main characters constant inner monologue really started to get on my nerves. I had a hard time seeing where this story was going. As the story started to finish up....that part didn’t take much for me, I didn’t want to put it down. I just hope the next book takes me by the seat of my pants and doesn’t let go till the very last word.

I know some reviews have dinged this book as a fuller. I do not disagree but I enjoyed just being back in the world. A lot of side adventures. There is a of lot sexual frustration with Arthur and chemistry with Mordred. There are some twists towards the end. I want more Mordred.

I really enjoyed The Gunievere Deception. The author put her own spin on Arthurian tale and I thought it was unique. This story started off a bit slow, there was some fluff, but wow that ending left me excited for the next book.
3.5 stars
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review.

I thought this was a great sequel to The Guinevere Deception! After the cliffhanger we were left on at the end of the first book I was ready to dive back into White's Arthurian world. I still love these characters and it was great to see Lancelot and Guinevere's develop further. I'm also completely team Mordred, and I can't wait to see how this story ends in the next installment!

Guinevere is finally Queen of Camelot. Everything should be as it seems there. However, Guinevere does not fit in at all. The more she tries, the more harder it is. At nights she is plagued by dreams of darkness and unknowable power. The Dark Queen is rising an army against them.
I have been really anticipating this sequel and finally just got around to it. I liked Guinevere and her character. I do like the problem with the sister. I did feel like there were times the book was boring and confusing

The Guinevere Deception was one of my favorite books of 2019 and I couldn't wait to dive into The Camelot Betrayal!

This installment was so much fun and I loved seeing the relationship between Guinevere and Lancelot develop more. I know that a lot of people are hoping for a Guinevere and Lancelot romance, but I love their friendship at the moment. My mind could certainly still be changed, but I'm firmly team Mordred at the moment.

I really enjoyed that there was a quest in this book, which expanded the world and showed us more of Guinevere away from Arthur. I also appreciated getting more of Guinevere's backstory and can't wait to find out even more about who she really is and what her purpose is.

Although I loved this book, I did find myself enjoying it a bit less than the first one. It was a quicker read, but I loved the mystery of The Guinevere Deception a bit more. I was hoping for a bit more development with the main story, but the side quest was still a lot of fun. I will definitely be preordering the third one!

This was a great book 2 really great. It really moved the plot forward and set up the ultimate conflict. This was not just a place holder.

The Guinevere Deception was quickly became a favorite from the plot and characters. I was excited to read the sequel, but in some ways it didn’t deliver. Unfortunately, it took me awhile to get into. Not only that, but I felt like it was too slow at times. However, this does not detract from my love for the series, especially because this happens sometimes with middle books.

There were a few things in The Camelot Betrayal that I enjoyed, one of which being the magic system. The idea of knot magic was introduced to us in The Guinevere Deception, and continues to play an important role in the sequel. I loved this magic system for its uniqueness and misleading simplicity. I appreciate how this book continued to explore the magic system and really flush it out for readers.

In various exchanges between Arthur and Guinevere, we see a clashing in philosophy and ideals. While I was rooting for them as a couple, I also realized there was a huge gap between them that didn’t seem possible to overcome. Despite this, I’m still rooting for them. While some people may be #TeamMordred, I’m #TeamArthur all the way. I’m looking forward to what the next book will bring.
