This was such a good follow up to the first in the series!! This is one retelling that is becoming its own story—so original and unique! Love the writing!

Although suffering from second book syndrome the overall story isn`t half bad. As a reader we get a little side quest and more character development. I`m ready to dive into book three.

Can we first take a moment and appreciate how breathtaking the covers to this series are.
The Camelot Betrayal, the second book to the Camelot series by Kiersten White was beautifully written. There something about the authors writing that can really draw you into the stories she writes
Although there were many aspects that I enjoyed from the read, I did find that this book lacked the same deep feeling I had for the first book as well as some parts lacking. I felt the different parts of the story were rushed as sometimes left me a bit overwhelmed with so much information and new characters popping up.
However, I did enjoy the story focusing on Guineveres relationships with the other characters such as Arthur, Lancelot and Brangien. As well as how she deals with her mysterious past. I do wish we got to learn more about Lancelot. She is such an amazing character. I would have loved to learn more about her. Minus the mishaps I’m intrigued to see where the series will go with the third book

I read the first book and then this after. The story just gets better as it goes along. It turns out this will be at least a trilogy. I love seeing Guinevere as a more nuanced character than she is in other retellings. I cannot wait for book 3! Who is the bad guy?! Who are the good guys?! Will this turn into a Guin and Lancelot love thing? Who knows? But I can't wait to find out.

This cover is just gorgeous, let's take the beauty in for a minute.
Now, the characters are fantastic and it has wonderful world building, however it moved to slow for me to really enjoy enjoy I felt like it wasn't getting anywhere. I got lost numerous times due to the all over the place plot and it didn't feel like there really was one.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley and Random House Children's for my gifted copy. I read the first book with my friend for book club and when I saw this book available on Netgalley I couldn't help but get excited. My main thought after reading this book was, "how dare the book end like that." I can't wait for the next book.

Unfortunately, I received this ARC before I had completed the first book. If I'd finished the first before making my request, I may not have asked for it at all. The first book was a bit of a disappointment, with a hastily-developed plot that felt very much like the author was pantsing (as opposed to plotting) the entire thing, and the lukewarm romance overshadowed any potential feminist angle to the plot development. But alas, I'm not here to critique the first in the series. The Camelot Betrayal was not much better, however. It left much to be desired, and once against felt like a poorly-rendered offering of random plot tropes. I had such high hopes for this series, and it pains me to give it such a low rating.

This second book in the series, fell victim to "Second Book Syndrome." It was a filler and place holder between the first and last. I sill enjoy the world and writing style, but the plot fell lat for me. I wanted more from Lancelot and felt that we were going to get queer representation, but we did not. . I give this three stars, but am interested in reading the last book.

I was already in love with Guinevere from the first book, and book two did not disappoint. I am a huge fan of Arthurian legend, and am always looking for solid retellings--this is one of those solid retellings. Rich and complex, this book pulls you in from page one and does not let you look away until its culmination. I am such a fan of The Guinevere Deception, and I simply cannot wait for the next installment.

I love reading Kiersten White's writing. While I did enjoy reading this book, it seems to fall under the usual pressure of a book two in a trilogy. It felt too much like it was building up for the climax of the third book than to establish an exciting plot of its own. The plot points felt rushed, running from one enemy to the next, leaving me a little overwhelmed with new names and characters.

Full of adventure just as the first one. I loved it, the story kept getting better by the page, and it's a story that hooks you up from the very beginning. I loved the characters since the first book and I just keep loving and caring for them. This book was so emotional and took me back to the Camelot I loved in the first book. I kept getting amazed by all the twist and turn this story provided. Simply perfect.

This was one of my most anticipated releases of 2020 and I am so glad that I got to visit Kiersten White's Camelot again! The first one, The Guinevere Deception was one of my favorite reads of 2019 and the sequel definitely lived up to my expectations. I am looking forward to the third one!

OMG. An amazing continuation of The Guinevere Deception. This book goes so much more into Guinevere and her hopes and dreams and fears and her relationship with those around her. Her sacrifices for her husband and friends and Camelot time and again are so heart-rending I could not put it down.

I love this series, and this book was no exception. It suffered a bit from second book syndrome in that it was a bit slower than the first. But overall I thought it was a great companion to the first.

I was really excited to read this book after really enjoying the first book in the series, and there are definitely aspects of this book that I enjoyed. Unfortunately though, this book was a little bit of a let down for me and I wanted more from it. I liked a new character that was introduced and I still love the character of Lancelot and want to learn more about her, but I didn’t feel very connected to many of the other characters.
I felt like some of the plot elements happened quite conveniently or suddenly and they all didn’t connect in as cohesive of a way as I would have liked. This book kind of felt like a lot of filler and I kept waiting for more things tied to the overarching plot to happen.
I am interested to see where this series will go in the future,

How was this even better than the 1st book?? I need the 3rd book asap because that cliffhanger was crazy. I love the liberties the author takes with what we know of the original story and that it picks up right where the 1st book left off.

As a result of my various committee appointments and commitments I am unable to disclose my personal thoughts on this title at this time. Please see my star rating for a general overview of how I felt about this title. Additionally, you may check my GoodReads for additional information on what thoughts I’m able to share publicly. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this and any other titles you are in charge of.

Kiersten White never fails! I don't think I've read a book by hers that I didn't love and The Camelot Betrayal was such a fantastic second book in this series!
The character growth in this book was enjoyable and while Guinevere is still unsure of who she is, the romance isn't there though. and that's what I want. I want romance, however, I do know with an Arthurian retelling, the romance I might want won't happen. But there is Mordred so here's hoping!

I started reading the first book to go along with receiving this one. However the writing was so dull and slow, I could not make it beyond the first quarter of the book. A great disappointment in comparison to And I Darken.

Not going to lie. The cliffhanger in the first book gave me a major book hangover so even though it's been a year, I couldn't wait to read book two. Guinevere grows so much in this book and even though the story felt a little slow at first, the addition of new characters and some twists that I did not see coming made this book. And let's not forget Mordred. But that ending! I can't deal with another cliffhanger! I need the next book now!
