Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book.

These days, you really can't have too many meal prep books on the shelf of your library. This is a worthy addition: simple, beautifully-photographed, and the recipes sound great!

This is the best meal prep cookbook EVER!!!. Seriously., y'all! The ingredients are foods I would actually eat! All of the ingredients are easy to find at ANY grocery store. PLUS, the recipes are quick to put together. The recipes don't take all day to prep, and are easily interchangeable.

4.5 stars. I've used multiple tips and recipes from this book. It was easy to read and follow! Recipes were tasty and weren't bland like you would think when you hear "fit" and "healthy"

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Great ideas for healthy and fit meal prep in this book. I want to try the one tray of chicken three ways and the apple and goat cheese quiche along with many many more of the recipes.

Many great recipes and several helpful tips for meal planning that I haven’t thought of before.

However I felt like the meal planning was a bit misleading or I was just expecting more plans.

Overall a good book for some new ideas.

Thank you to #TillerPress and #NetGalley for this review copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

This book was received as an ARC from Tiller Press in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book was so useful on a topic that is important to me and a lot of our library community but one I find difficult to live by since I have a busy on the go lifestyle. It's always hard to prepare fresh meals everyday since my schedule is jam packed with work, appointment, activities etc. This book not only gives good tips on what meals, foods are best to stay healthy and adapt to the busy lifestyle but, it gives delicious easy to make healthy recipes that anyone can enjoy. I can't wait to try the chia pudding and the sweet potato muffins. I know a lot of people are open to new ways of living the healthy lifestyle especially since the New Year is just around the corner and this book will be the perfect asset to help achieve your goals.

We will consider adding this title to our TX Non-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

The Fit Foodie Meal Prep plan is a wonderful ready for individuals ready to embark on the process of meal prepping. It presents the basic necessities for food prep. The book includes easy to follow recipes, nutritional information regarding a well-balanced meal, pantry staples to have on hand, and tips for meal prepping. The recipes are easy to follow with beautiful illustrations. I only wish that nutritional information was provided for each recipe. I recommend this book to anyone interested in healthy meal prepping. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Simon & Schuster, Inc. and to Net Galley, along with the author of The Fit Foodie Meal Prep Plan, Sally O’Neil, for providing this book without charge, in exchange for an honest review.

The visual appeal of the first few pages of the book was excellent. And then I started to realize that I was obsessed about food looking so good! Then I started to wonder if I really needed to read a book like this because usually, all it does is make me want to eat more food rather than controlling myself! . So, obviously, I had a problem. However, let’s read on…

Insightful moment?

I had no idea that paprika had an origin like it does. I also never really understood the whole macronutrient diet thing, and a lot of times previously,, rolled my eyes when I heard the term. There were other moments that made me stop and think….

Something helpful?

LOVE LOVE the shortcuts portion and I especially loved that she debunked several myths from people who love to hear themselves speak as an expert on matters where they most definitely are NOT an expert (the loudest voice seems to always win, right?).

This cookbook opened my eyes– DRAMATICALLY. For instance, eggs that RE brined- no way! But…. Once there was a little reasoning around trying them, ok- I might give them a shot!

I was also pleasantly surprised to see gluten-free recipes, since this is my type of diet (not by choice).

There is a combos section with all kinds of ideas for your staple recipes- with pretty awesome ideas that seem easy to implement.

All in all?

This is an excellent resource- not your typical cookbook. It’s better!

Enjoy!

Great book for use for those interested in meal prep and may require some assistance. This is also a good resource for those wanting to get back to basics. There are some great tips included in here such as building your own salad bar from items in your refrigerator to ‘leftover buffet’ for cleaning out your fridge. The meal prep contains some great information that is made even better by the tips included. The organization of the book is good, and the photos that are included are gorgeous. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

This is a well put together and accessible book on healthy meal planning. O'Neil lays out everything you need to get started (i.e. tips on nutrition, pantry basics, equipment needed, etc), then moves on to the stuff we came here for- the recipes. We start with prepping protein options, then head into batch recipes to make, portion out, and freeze, refrigerate, or store to have ready to be made into meals. Finally, we have ideas for how to put all this together into meals. The set-up is friendly and visually appealing, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow, with lots of pictures to guide us. The recipes all sound delicious- I can't decide what to try first, but the Apple + Goat Cheese + Sage Quiche is calling my name! For the most part, the ingredients looked like things that could be easily found at a well-stocked grocery store or health food store, or online. This book is very user friendly, with many ways to adapt the recipes to suit our own taste. A great place to start for those starting to do the food prep thing, as this book isn't overwhelming like many I've seen. This is definitely a book I'd refer back to often, it's a good find!

REally thorough book that breaks down meal prepping in three steps: Protein prep/batch making and putting it all together in different combinations. As someone who often comes home from work starving and ready to order takeout, this book is a godsend. It keeps everything simple, offers up interesting recipes and is calorie conscious.

The steps structure of this cookbook is fantastic. I really feel like it equips you to be a good and healthier meal prepper! This will be a vital tool in becoming more healthy and feeling more capable in the kitchen. Thank you to NetGalley and Tiller Press for a copy of this book for an honest review.

Having received an advanced e-book, I have mixed opinions on this cookbook. I will have to separate my review into two sections: the meal-prep at the beginning and then the recipes and meal suggestions in the second half. Even though the meal-prep ideas were very useful and I found several new ideas I had not heard elsewhere especially on freezing items like cream into ice trays and ginger - I hate when I go to use it and it is fuzzy, there were so many typos and unfinished words/sentences that it became a struggle to get through it. The first half was at least readable though. The second part with the recipes and meal prep was totally unreadable and the pictures thrown in made it even worse. I couldn't try one of those recipes if I wanted to that's how bad it was. I understand and totally allow a certain amount of proofreading errors in an ARC but this was like I was a beta reader on a first draft. I have never had so much difficulty reading an ARC on a cookbook let alone one that is from a traditional publisher. I won't be requesting anymore books from this publishing branch (Tiller) of Simon & Schuster again. My time is worth more than this.

This is such a great guide for learning how to meal prep! I recently started doing this and I appreciate all the tried and true tips shared in this book. There are step by step tutorials and even recipes. I like the way she explains everything not assuming that we are experts, but even someone seasoned at it would surely learn from her. Everyone is so busy but has good intentions to eat well, and a book filled with simple ways to achieve our goals is amazing!

This is a great cookbook! There are pictures for the recipes and such a wide variety of options to fit food restrictions as well. There are meat recipes while also including some vegan options, including cauliflower crust! The recipes look delicious, use whole foods, and the meal prep section is very informative and interesting. I'm excited to try some of these recipes!

I really enjoyed this cookbook. I didn't know what to expect going in. Most of the time books like this have such a focus on health that the recipes are dull and tasteless but this book was so different. Each recipe looked delicious and made me want to make them all immediately. I liked that it started by showing each easy-to-follow recipe then it broke down all the ways to create the meal prep combinations for each of the recipes in the first part of the book. Very well organized. Pictures were gorgeous and made me want to make every recipe. Highly recommended!

I did not read The Fit Foodie Meal Prep Plan through an educator lens.

The Fit Foodie Meal Prep Plan would be worth recommending to people who are just starting out with meal prepping and trying to eat healthier. I appreciated the easy layout of the book with the images of the different combinations of foods for the base of the meal. I would have loved to see a full size image opposite of this that had images of the three combos to visualize the difference (especially for people just starting out with cooking!). Most of the recipes were easy to follow and had simple ingredients that I'm able to find! The recipes were easy to adapt for anyone with food allergies/intolerances as well.

Wow! This book! I read a lot of cookbooks from Alt-Lopez, Mandy Le, most of Ottolenghi, I do not always have time on the weeknights to make a healthy meal without compromising flavor. While some of the recipes needed to be tweaked based on my own personal tastes, I found the prep concepts ingenious. I was pleasantly surprised how much I learned.

Here are some of the recipes I have tried: pea pesto, tofu satay, poached egg, gravalox, coconut yogurt, nut butter falafel balls. I do not eat a lot of meat but I am certain that some of the recipes are compatible with meatless alternatives and other plant based proteins. In addition to the healthy, yet tasty meals, Sally also considers economic costs on how to make several meals while reducing waste.

I was so impressed that I bought this book to have a copy in my home at all times. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves healthy food that actually tastes good!

Woah woah woah I need a hard copy of this bad boy STAT. This is the holy grail of food prep guides. I am blown away by how detailed it is and I cannot wait to implement some of these tips over the summer to make my transition back into the school year easier. As a teacher, it is definitely hard to eat healthy 24/7 because you know those kids are selling candy bars nonstop!! This book is going to help me lose weight and stay on track with my nutrition!
