I really like this book. It began showing how to meal plan and tips and ways to make it work. Then it gives recipes and ways to mix them up. I also really like how all of the recipes were healthy. No sugar, no white flour. But also no hard to find ingredients. I might even go and buy it!
This book is great for anyone looking to improve their lifestyle through proper nutrition, which is achieved through a 3-step meal prep plan. It focuses on mastering basic prep skills, how to pack your fridge, freezer, and pantry with all the staples necessary for each week, and how to assemble the deliciously healthy meals.
The Fit Foodie Meal Prep Plan is an interesting cookbook focusing on how to be organized enough to meal prep for a week at a time. While I found some of the tips to be really encouraging, I found the recipes themselves to include ingredients that I can't put in my child's lunch as it contains nuts. I think if it wasn't for the nuts being so prevalent in so many recipes, I would actually buy this book for my household. The overall messages of how to prep and plan was simple to follow though and I will actually be following some of the process that were outlined. I appreciated the simple breakdown of how to create a pantry that is conductive to easy healthy meals.
This seems like a pretty simplistic meal plan book. It reads a lot like other meal planning books that I've read. I appreciate the healthier options.
The Fit foodie Meal Prep Plan is a wonderful book. By breaking meal prep down into 3 basic steps (Prep Your Protein, Batch and Stash, and Out It Together) it makes meal prepping more approachable for a beginner. I used the principles laid forth in the book last week and had a variety of healthy and easy meals made in a flash. I especially loved the poached chicken and the tips that went with! The one downside for me is that easy was closely intertwined with nuts in so many recipes. I have a tree nut allergy so many of the batch and mix and match options wouldn't work for me. I've seen some healthy prep books that are more balanced or give alternatives that sound good. However, if you can eat nuts and like them, there isn't any drawback to the book. The recipes are clear and include fun tips and alterations, the combos take the stress out of mixing things up while you get started, and the photos are inspiring on their own. Take a peak and I bet you'll find a new favorite to add to your meal prep rota. I did!
This is an accessible and sustainable solution for people who want to eat healthfully and potentially lose weight. I was very impressed after testing a few recipes for myself. Buying a hard copy for me and my community library. The photos are wonderful, and this is going to be HUGE if given enough press. I hope to see more from this author.
Thank you, Netgalley, for the opportunity to read an arc version of this book!
As a teacher, meal planning is critical. When I return from a long day at work, I want to focus on decompressing and preparing for the next day to be my best self. For myself, that does not include making lunch for the next day (even though, at times, leftovers make a great next-day addition!). For this reason, I jumped at the chance to check out this book on Netgalley and get ideas for how I could improve my process (or lack of a process).
I liked the structure and breakdown of the book, with its three-step process focused on building meals around protein. This is relevant advice even for vegetarians like myself, as protein provides the meal with a filling source of focus that will keep you satisfied. I was anticipating a few more recipes, but this book is more informational than a cookbook (which is fine in its own being). Recommend for folks new to meal planning and need ideas!
This cookbook does a great job of breaking things down and showing a variety of ways to use the recipes. I loved the food storage tips and the information on freezing. I don't know that this book is easily accessible to every home cook, there are some expensive ingredients and some items that seem unwieldy (roasting a whole pumpkin, for example). Overall, if you have the budget and the space to live this kind of lifestyle- I think this book is great.
This is a great cook book that is perfect for people that need to meal prep. It goes over meal prep basics on why it's important, how it's helpful, and how to start meal prepping as a beginner. The recipes are bright and flavorful and, most importantly, time savers for meals throughout the week, when you just don't have time to cook a full meal from start to finish.
I have to say even thought there went a lot of recipes I could make for my whole family, this book gives a great starting foundation for meal prepping which is what I was really looking for. The idea's for storage containers and portions really helped as that is a couple of major road blocks for me when prepping. A good variety of recipes and nothing crazy fancy that you are like, nope not making that.
This book gave me so many good ideas for meal prep ideas, I liked that the author is trying to help so many people with her tips of how long you should keep food in the freezer or fridge. She had many good tips. I will use some of the recipes in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tiller Press for allowing me to read this book.
Thanks for the chance to read this cookbook/guide! I am glad to say that it was informative, valuable and visually appealing. I liked the approach to certain elements of food prep because they came across as more accessible and realistic. Sometimes it's easy to dream up the routine you'd like to have. Reading guides like this can help 1) promote ideas; 2) execute them.
I've been healthy meal planning and prepping for awhile, but this book still had some great tips, tricks and recipes to add to my rotation. This book would also be great for someone just starting out with meal prepping. So far, my favorite recipes are the one-tray chicken: three ways ( so easy and the different seasonings ensure you don't get sick of it) and the milk-poached chicken (much more flavorful than poaching in water as I was doing before). I like the organization of this cookbook and the beautiful pics. I am looking forward to trying more of the recipes and meal prepping ideas. A big thank you to #NetGalley and Tiller Press for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Not what I expected; this would not be useful at my house. Not enough recipes the kids would eat. No published review
This was a fun collection of ways to meal prep to make life a little easier, healthier, and more fun! It is a quick read, and it is laid out in a way that makes finding the recipes you are in the mood for a snap.
I cooked my way through some of this book and encountered some delicious meals! I love meal prep and this cookbook gives you a good sense of direction and a nice foundation. Recipes are easy to follow.
This cookbook got my mind turning on meal prep! I am not a total fan of meal prep but I really want to get better at it. The author does a great job of giving some unique ideas for meal prep. I liked the information at the beginning that runs through some ideas for storage containers and how to properly portion! I also loved the light and bright layout and photos. Overall, this cookbook has some unique ideas and I am interested in trying a few!
This book was extremely helpful, especially for someone who is pre-diabetic. I was looking for food prep ideas that were interesting. I am tired of the same basic ideas. This book provided creative ideas to spice up my menu.

I love the simple breakdown of this book. Sometimes you need to get back to the basics and this book does just that. I really like the concept of adding "Leftover Buffet" to your calendar to clean out the fridge. It includes information about counting macronutrients and including them in your diet. There are tips on building your own salad bar from your fridge that are great. This book is full of useful tips on meal prepping. I actually enjoyed the tips more than some of the recipes. I will definitely be including some of these tips going forward. The writing of the book is great. Sally has a knack for incorporating wit into a cookbook. Who would've thought?!? The photos were gorgeous.

It's a perfectly fine book, but I found myself disappointed in the included recipes. I found many of them to be extremely basic- recipes that everyone already has some iteration of in their repertoire. That being said, I think the crowning jewel of this book is the detailed explanation of how to begin meal prepping and what it entails. This is a great meal prep book for beginners.
