This story was so much and perfect for summer!
I don’t mind teenage love and shenanigans. I actually enjoy them when I’m in the mood for it, If you know me, I’m a sucker for enemies-to-lovers trope but there’s just something about bestfriends to lovers that hit different. That may be because I’m an Eremika die hard fan, but the quiet longing and the angst?? It’s so good. I just love it when both characters are obvious to their feelings, I liked that she sought her bestfriend for sex advice😂 so she could be ready for her real date. It’s super quick to read if you’re looking for some fluffy and comical story about two idiots in love,
Manage to read the sample and I’m instantly hooked! For sure, I’ll buy the finish copy of The Best Laid Plans!!
This was such a cute and quick read. I read The Best Laid Plans in two sittings and only took a break from it because I didn't want to completely mess up my sleep schedule. If it hadn't been for that, I would've definitely finished the book in one sitting. I absolutely loved the two main characters Keely and Andrew and the chemistry between them. This was a great debut novel and I can't wait to check out Cameron Lund's next book
This one kinda left me flat. It had SO much potential and just left me like “what the heck”. I didn’t hate it, but I definitely didn’t love it. Just meh
Thank you for this SNEAK PEEK. This made me want to read the book all the much more! I hoped that this was the book.
Mistakenly thought this was a full copy and not just a sneak peek. However, I am intrigued to pick up the final version and see where it goes from here.
The premise sounded really cute and I was really excited for this book but it just kinda fell flat for me. I didn't feel as connected to the characters or engrossed to the story. I understand the content of the book but it felt like one of the messages the book was conveying was that girls "should" lose their virginity in high school. Like dude, I'm in no way a prude but I hope younger teens who read this don't believe this.
The characters felt authentic, and not overly angsty, but relatable as teens. Really cute and fun sneak peek- looking forward to the entire book!
It was a quick but okay-ish read. The character development was only so-so hence the book failed to create interest.
It surprised me, I liked it, it was entertaining, fast of read, and mega cliche; in other words, the best reading to pass the time. However, the book can be problematic because there are a lot of slut-shaming and the male characters aren't the best here, quite immature. I wish there was a bit more drama regarding Andrew and Keely's relationship, even with Dean. Overall, it was entertained, and I would like to read more of the author's books.
I agree with other reviews that this book was predictable based on the synopsis. Very "Lizzie McGuire meets cute boy so uses Gordo as a test subject to gain skills and impress cute boy but love and life are complicated so the love interest really becomes Gordo". If you are into that sort of read, then this book is definitely for you! :)
The Best Laid Plans had plenty of potential and yet somehow fell flat. I should state that this is not the book for everyone. If it had simply been a cute book with a friends to lovers ending, I would have enjoyed it. If it had taken a harder look at the coming of age sexually in a world filled with double standers and bullying, I would have also enjoyed it more. Sadly it fell somewhere in-between and failed to satisfy either. There were still several moments and characters that I found enjoyable. Overall I would be interested in seeing more from this author in the future.
This was a very predictable YA romance, where the actual romantic lead was in front of the main character's face the whole time, but I still managed to finish it in a couple of days.
Kind of cliche, but a good kind, a cute and fun read nonetheless! Keely's narrative is hilarious! Because it is a sneak peak, I didn't really get the full impression of Keely's character, but she seemed awesome and overall likeable protagonist.
This was an uber cute ya romance. I saw so many bookstagrammers share this book and I knew I needed it 🤩 The cover is also stunning 😍
Best friend romances are my favorite and I enjoyed this one. It did start of slow but things picked up once we got to the middle chunk of the book. Andrew was literally the best. I do wish we would’ve seen more of the transition between them and their feelings. I think Andrew had his own story to tell too!
I did stay up till 2am reading this book 😛. There were some really funny moments 😅
This book broached a tough subject virginity. I did think it was done well. I did get a little tired of all the dizzy, blood rushing, and flushing that was going on but I liked the story line and I had a hard time putting it down once I got into it.
I’m going to give this one a 3.5. If you like slow burns, can’t see what’s right in front of them love then this is a cute book for you. I found myself both being able to relate with the characters and not truly caring about the characters. Of course I wanted the happily ever after but this just fell a little flat for me. I usually get all misty eyed and awwww during the climax of the story but no tears this time. Don’t get me wrong it was still a good story and it was enjoyable. It just maybe isn’t the book for me.
Keely a high school senior is the only one left that is a virgin in her group of friends. She has crossed everyone off at school because she grew up with them. Then she meets Dean, a hot college guy, who seems genuinely interested in her. She starts to panic thinking he's no longer going to want to date her, after he finds out she's a virgin. Desperate to lose her virginity, she asks her best friend Andrew to help her practice. They're best friends, it seems like the perfect plan, what could go wrong?
Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved this book! This book takes you back to all the drama that happens in High School. It was so relatable that I felt like I was there with them. I also loved the mature YA feel of this book and how sex was addressed. I felt like it was the perfect mix of friendship and finding your first love! If you're looking for a mature YA friends to lovers romance, I highly recommend this one!
I did not realize this was a sneak-peek. Can't really tell what the book is about or whether I like it (Though the first few chapters were good). At some point, I might request this from the library or purchase it to see what the rest of the book was like.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my sneak peak. The part I was lucky enough to read was fantastic. I was fortunate to be gifted the whole book from a friend. Looking forward to reading this book.
