Totally worth it. The way the book teaches principles rather than adding to my to do list is transformational! I’ve found that the lazy genius questions have crept into my everyday thoughts, helping me focus on what matters instead of what doesn’t, which also leads to being kinder to myself! It’s sparked some great conversation among friends about how to create routines and more. Highly recommend!

This book gave me permission to not feel guilty about the lazy hacks I've found in my own life, and even gave me more ideas about things I can do to make things easy for myself. I have depression, and this means major unending fatigue, so any place I can be lazy I will take and this book told me it's ok to do what I need to do to function. This book was actually recommended by a friend and I will recommend it to my friends as well.

Kendra writes with wit and compassion for everyone who is struggling to keep up the appearance that we have been conditioned we need to meet. She tells us that we can invite our friends and family into our true lives, which are often a mess, and that this form of true authenticity will lead to deepened relationships.

I recieved a free copy of this book for review from NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

I love this book. I have read it or portions of it at least multiple time. Kendra is clever and funny and she has great ideas on how to simplify life while not completely ditching the things that are important to us.

This is a great book to sort out your everyday life. It is very simple to follow and stick to with lots of simple steps at the end of each chapter. The author shares her own stories in every chapter to explain the concept and that acts as an example to follow. Even though I practice most of the things mentioned in the book it was a good affirmation to read it. It felt more catering to mothers as there was plenty of examples about kids and parents but I guess the author was sharing her own experiences. It could have been cut short imo as there were many chapters which felt like had repetitive content.

While there are some tips that might benefit a SAHM with young kids, on the whole, this book didn't break any new ground or start a revolution, unfortunately. Very telling to not say much throughout, and the ideas it asks the reader to espouse aren't really genius-level at all. While they may work, it strikes more like a stroke of luck made 'this' work than anything else

Review: Lazy Genius Way
Author: Kendra Adachi

Rating: ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

This book is a must read for any mom/houseparent who is overwhelmed exhausted and confused at how they will ever get it all done.

The systems that Kendra suggests are totally revolutionary in their approach- and they will challenge you to reevaluate what really matters the most.
Save yourself time, money and most of all your mental health!! And apply some of Kendra’s ideas!!

The Lazy Genius Way is a game changer. I was halfway doing maybe a third of the suggestions, (which I thought was pretty cool) but definitely learned a lot.

I love how practical the author's methods are, and how flexibly they are designed so that you can customize them for yourself. No hard and fast 'only have 30 books' rules to freak out someone 🙋🏼‍♀️who has that many on the nightstand.

Figure out what matters to you, then run through these principles to make things flow better, and not worry about the parts that don't matter (to you).

I felt seen, and cared about as I read this. And I loved the subtle faith elements that undergird the process of becoming a lazy genius.

I received an e-copy of the book from net galley and chose to review it here. All thoughts are my own. I chose to buy a hardcopy for myself after reading it.

First of all, I must apologize for the extremely late review. Admittedly I was in the launch group for this book and realized now years later that giving feedback within NetGalley was even a thing. So I am adding in my review below:

I was lucky to get to be a part of the launch group for this book and I must say thank goodness Kendra wrote this! As a new mom to a baby and a 2 year old, I need all of the tips I can get on how to be a Lazy Genius. Kendra's LG principals are truly LIFE CHANGING. Her examples peppered throughout each principal are so helpful as sometimes most of us, and especially the high achieving Type A personalities, can tend to overcomplicate things. I too have thought that in order to do yoga you must be in a dark room, in the quiet, and practice a minimum of 45 minutes....but Kendra has it figured out here. Small steps done everyday do work for longer and more sustainable change. This has been an eye opening book, and one that I can guarantee that I will re-read again and again throughout the seasons of my life.

I adoreddddd this book! I usually don't fly through non-fiction books but I loved Kendra's writing style and the hugely practical tips filled throughout this book. Be genius about the important things that matter to you & lazy about the things that don't. Such a simple concept but a bit harder in practice but I'm looking forward to trying to put it to good use. Huge thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

This books stems from the authors own experience with being overwhelmed. She is passionate about what she is writing about. I didn't find her ideas original because I've been pratciing some of these things for a very long time. But if you are a new mother or a wife or just a person with a lot on your plate and are overwhelmed this book will help you prioritize what's important.

A relevant and unexpectedly funny collection of self-help materials that simply made my day.

Thank you to the author and the publisher for this ARC through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

The Lazy Genius Way is an entertaining read full of tips, smart ideas, a release of pressure, and some great personal stories. Adachi has a friendly likeable tone, and I have taken away some great ideas from this book as someone who is often far too ‘all or nothing’.

I won’t lie— I requested this book specifically because my husband calls me a “lazy genius.” This book really resonated with me. I appreciated that the tone wasn’t authoritative or preachy, but rather encouraged the reader to use what works for them. It has helped me prioritize and say no to the things that aren’t important to me.

The cover of the Lazy Genius Way by Kendra Adachi was the first thing that drew me into the book, and the tag line was the second. “Embrace what matters, ditch what doesn’t, and get stuff done” is the perfect description of what you will learn from this book. Adachi speaks directly to the reader as she details her own struggles, how she tackled them, and imparts wisdom and lessons with realism and humor. This self-help book is unlike any other self-help book that I’ve read. It feels like getting advice from an old friend, without guilt or judgement. The advice that Adachi gives is realistic and allows people to be humans that make mistakes and take time to change their behaviors. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and learning from it. At a time where we all may be facing a lot of pressure this book is a breath of fresh air and a reminder that it is okay to take things step by step.
Thank you to the publisher WaterBrook & Multnomah and NetGalley for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

No other "self help" book has ever come close to having the impact on my life that The Lazy Genius Way has. I use the principles on a daily basis, and doing so allows me to feel like myself. The practical applications of the ideas in this book are endless. What a gift!
