This crochet books has good photos of the finished product and great instruction to create realistic looking fruits and vegetables. Each project has simple instructions that are easy to read and follow. The finished product is pretty life size and if you have the right colors and yarns they produce a pretty looking fruit bowl. Good table of content and instructions. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This is a brilliant book for a crocheter.
There is a mixture of easy patterns and intermediate patterns and I loved the fruits and veg.
My niece has recently got a play kitchen so I have made her some fruit and veg to go in that for a little lockdown gift.
This book is full of delicious looking fruits and veggies!!! The quality of the book is high, patterns are easy to understand, and the photos are lovely. The only note about this book would be that the photos of the objects should be with the all the patterns instead of just some of them.
I will definitely use this designer as a resource for any animagrumi creations!
Adorable Fruits & Vegetables to Crochet by Marie Clesse is just what the title states. Adorable being the key word here. This book has lovely photos, clear instructions, and 24 designs that are enough to inspire anyone who crochets to grab a hook and start a project. The banana that slips out of its skin and the peas that pop out of their pod are really over-the-top cute! Whether you make these for the kids in your life or for an adorably unique display you can't go wrong with this book.
The patterns are all made in cotton yarn. The first few pages have short crochet tutorial, but it isn't comprehensive, so if you are a true beginner I would start elsewhere first. I love that they mention time it will take to finish the project, 30 minutes to 3 hrs. The instructions are very clear. My only complaint is that rather than having the majority of the pictures of the patterns in the front half of the book, pair them right next to the pattern so you aren't flipping back and forth.
The patterns look adorable enough to eat! Lots of amigurumi type crochet books include fruit and veg patterns, but I've never seen a leek, a banana with a peel, or a cauliflower in a book before. Working on that cauliflower pronto! These designs would be great for table displays or for children's toys.
Thanks to Netgalley and Dover publishing for the Advanced Reader Copy.
These are really cute little fruits and veggies! I’ve done the banana already and it was super easy to follow the pattern as it’s written and end up with a perfectly tiny and cute banana that comes out of the peel! Next I’m thinking the pumpkin bc it’s my next favorite or the cute radishes. They’re all really cute and love the patterns.
Adorable book with lots of realistic fruit and vegetables to crotchet. The book opens with full page pictures of the finished fruit or vegetables. There are apple, pears, clementines, bananas, lemons and half lemons, raspberries, blackberries, cherries, strawberries, plums, peaches, apricots and half kiwi fruit. The vegetables include leeks, cauliflower, peas in pods, avocado halves, carrots, radishes, button mushrooms, pumpkin, eggplants and tomatoes. The second half of the of the book has very clear instructions and patterns. A lovely book
Anybody who loves to or plans to crochet should have this book. The illustration/pictures and the instructions make creating the amazing designs seem easy. The instructions are given in such a way that even beginners can make the adorable patterns. I thank NetGalley and Dover publications for giving me this amazing opportunity to read, review this book and improve my crocheting skills.
Fantastic collection of crochet designs for fruits and vegetables. The pictures are fantastic and the instructions are excellent. If you love to crochet I highly recommend this book.
I received this book from NetGalley and Dover Publishing for an honest review.
Fun collection of crochet patterns for fruits and veggies. These would be great for a kid's play kitchen or for play shopping. Some would make cute cat toys if stuffed with catnip along with fiberfill.
Thank you to Dover Publications and NetGalley for thre eARC in exchange

This book starts with a gallery of full-page photos of each project, which are conveniently labeled with the title and the page number for the project instructions. The next section is a one-page overview of materials, followed by a 5-page section detailing crochet techniques (with a handful of drawn illustrations) and a list of abbreviations used in the book. The projects start with a header listing estimated completion time, page number of the full-page photo, important reminders, and a materials list. The project instructions are clear and concise and include a photo of the finished project.
This is a great book for people with any level of crafting or crochet experience, and the estimated completion times make it easy to know when you're able to make something. All of the projects are adorable and can be used as toys for children or just as a decoration for your house. For absolute beginners, it may be helpful to watch a "crochet 101" video online before starting, but overall the crochet how-to in the front of the book should be sufficient.
The patterns are all made in an aran weight cotton yarn, DMC Natura Medium Just Cotton and fingering DMC Natura Just Cotton and some pearl cotton in many colors. They have row by row or round by round instructions. I liked that they also mention time it will take to finish the project, 30 minutes to 3 hrs. There is a short crochet tutorial in the beginning of the book.
The projects look cute and sweet, and will be good for beginners. I like the banana with peels and cut fruit like lemons, avocados and kiwis.
I received a free digital copy of the book from NetGalley
These live up to their name -- oodles of darling fruits and veggies from mushrooms to peas in a pod. Detailed instructions and patterns, full color.
