The chapters were really short, which was probably to make them more digestible. Kinda like fast carbs, right? I would've liked longer chapters, as I felt a bit like it was jumping from subject to subject without getting into things as deeply as I would've liked. It does provide a contrast against other books I've read in the same area that have really long, dense chapters. I guess I prefer a happy medium. Give me the details and really dig into a topic, but with reasonable chapter sizes. The book also wasn't as long as I thought. After the meal plan, it's like.. oh, I guess it's done and the other half (okay, maybe it was more like 40%) are just notes.
Unfortunately, I don't feel I learned anything new from this book. I've been trying to decide between a low-carb pescatarian diet and a low-fat vegan diet, and this didn't really help me. The low-carb diet plan included wasn't even that low carb. It included a soup with root vegetables! Also unfortunately, while he suggested plant-based was probably the best way to go, all of the diet plans had meat, dairy, and fish.
Fast carbs are bad, got it.
