Healing through Nutrition is a information-packed powerhouse! Not only does it have DE-licious recipes that you'll use on the daily, but it was has how and why to all of your questions. Why should eat these fruits and veggies? How are they going to heal me? Is it really going to taste good? I will personally tell you: yes!
Eliza breaks down for you serving size for each recipe, which is super helpful, has ingredient tips, and cooking tips. She also has information on the ingredients going into them.
The only downside is that there aren't pictures for all of the recipes. I like a visual to see if I made it right or how it is supposed to look in the end. Other than that, this book is utterly fabulous! It is a vegan's dream come true.
This is a beautiful book from front to back. I appreciate the attractive photos, historical anecdotes and at-a-glance summaries. Eliza Savage is a registered dietitian and she shares with us her nutritional knowledge of each of the fifty foods spotlighted. Perhaps best of all is that each powerhouse food is accompanied by not one but two scrumptious recipes to make incorporation of these healthy, nutrient-dense foods into your diet easy. Herbs, spices, fruits, vegetables, teas and coffee are highlighted. I’m especially looking forward to trying the blueberry cauliflower smoothie, avocado Caesar dressing and the chopped Greek pita salad. If your goal is to eat healthier and you don’t know where to start, this book is for you!
