What sets this book apart from so many is that it has just the right amount of steam, and it's actually written well! I've been cringing at so many "steamy" scenes lately, that I go into each new read with low expectations. This one exceeded! I love "fake dating" as a plot line, and this book absolutely delivered for me.

I am such a huge fan of Rom-Com books especially during this crazy time of COVID-19. This book made me laugh out loud so many times and really reminded me a lot of the show Hart of Dixie. If you like fake dating tropes, sassy southern gossip, and a mission to save a bar..then Fake It Til You Make It is right up your alley.

Sloane is such a relatable female lead. She's dorky, lovable and doomed. Even though it's become very apparent in the fake dating trope the fake couple always ends up a real couple but it written right it still makes for an enjoyable read. Anne Harper hit it out of the ballpark with Fake It Til You Make It.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟(5 out of 5) Towards the end the story did feel a bit rushed but the ending really stole the show. It was the perfect Rom-Com ending and Brady melted my heart. I checked on Goodreads and it looks like this is the first book by this author. I'm hoping its the first of many and maybe this is the start of a series cause I would love to see Callum and Dixon get a story.

Thank you net galley for the advance reader copy of this novel. This was a contemporary romance with theme of a fake relationship turning real over a viral blog post. Main characters Sloane and Brady both benefit from the fake relationship. Even though the plot was pretty clear from the first psge, I kept reading as I wanted to find out the why's and how's. There was some salty language and a bit much steaminess that the book would have been fine without. Overall a quick cute read.

If you love social media gone wrong, this book will capture you right away when one drunken night causes our heroine’s life to spiral way out of control!

I really enjoyed the plot overall. Her terror and embarrassment created a really enjoyable story, but as for the characters themselves, they weren’t my go-to for romances. It felt like the focus was more on the book deal rather than her connection/romance to the mystery guy, and there were times when it all felt dull. I would have liked to see more steamy scenes between them.

But other than that, I don’t think there was anything that shied me away from the story. It was entertaining, a bit of mystery involved, and was just a really fast read for me. A 3 out of 5 star read from me!

I’d recommend this one if you love romances with fake relationships, embarrassing moments, a bit of humor, and a plot with a focus not just on their chemistry.

I totally enjoyed this book by Anne Harper. I like the plot and her writing style. Will definitely be checking out other books written by her in the future.

Fake It Till You Make It by Anne Harper is a fun romantic comedy that I really enjoyed. Sloane De Carlo accidentally posted her private blog to public for everyone to read. Sloane has had a crush on Guy, not his real name and now everyone knows. Fortunately a local bartender know the real identity of Guy and agrees to pose as Guy, to get publicity for his bar. What could possibly go wrong? I love the quirky people and situations in this book, and watching the characters grow. I found this book to be a quick read, and recommend it to all readers who enjoy a funny romantic comedy. I plan on reading more books by Ms Harper.

An absolutely adorable fake dating book. It has all the cringeworthy beginnings to slow burn happily ever after.
I really enjoyed the whole book and was most happy that it didn't have too much drama outside of the main story. Just the right amount of banter and growth to make you enjoy each and every character.

Sloane's super secret, super private blog just went public and viral. Oops! And now she's faced with the repercussions of a blog confessing her unrequited long time love for someone who is engaged to someone else, and whom she never told. And there's one man she accidentally told of her unrequited love. Brady remembers the adorably awkward Sloane confessing her fantasy that she was going to marry golden boy Marcus someday, and now he plans on using Sloane's new infamous presence to help bring in customers to his bar. I luuurved this rom-com. It's seriously sweet and funny, and this couple is adorable and sexy. Awkward and quirky Sloane is the perfect match with grumpy hot bartender with a heart, Brady. It's a slow burn, sexy but sweet relationship that's pitched at the perfect intensity, not too over the top, not too clean, and all kinds of witty and funny. Loved. Loved. Loved!

I was drawn to this book because of it's cover (I'm slightly addicted to romcoms with illustrated covers), but that wasn't all I enjoyed about this one. I found it to be a hightly enjoyable fake relationship romance that was very entertaining.

What I loved about this book:

1. I'm a fan of most tropes, but fake relationship is one of my top three favorites. This one tops my chart of fake relationship romances because it was a highly believable plot that I thought was very well written. The author definitely put some heart into this book and it shows.

2. I loved both of the main characters and the small town setting of this book. If you grew up in a small (I did 🙋🏼‍♀️) then you can understand Slaone's POV. Gossip travels like wild fire through small towns, especially when it has to do with someone semi famous. The slow burn romance between Sloane and Brady is completely heartwarming and I found myself rooting for them the entire book.

3. This book had the perfect amount of steam and was absolutely hilarious. I love when a book can make me laugh and cry, but ultimately leaves me smiling at the end. With everything going on, this was a perfect book to escape into.

If you love the fake relationship trope you 100% need to read this book. The author's writing was seamless, both Sloane and Brady were well developed relatable characters, and the plot was intriguing and entertaining. I will definently be reading whatever this author writes next!

When socially awkward Sloane mistakenly shares her super private secret on her private blog she never thinks it would go viral and very public only to complicate her life and possibly the man it's about. Enter Brady the only person who knows her truth and tries to turn the situation to benefit his failing bar by striking a deal to help keep her truth hidden. Hot bartender with a secret and pretending to be the mystery man can only bring more drama and I was more than happy to watch it unfold. Great read.

4.5 Highly Entertaining Stars!!

You guys … the blurb … I mean it’s #winning, amirite?!?!? Lol What grabbed me for this read was the promising shenanigans I knew would be part of the storyline, and it did not disappoint! I was highly entertained! The pretend to be or fake dating trope is one of my favorites in romantic comedies because there’s an inherent humorous component already built into it. It is impossible not to be entertained by such shenanigans LOL or at least it is for me!

Sloane and Brady entertained me from beginning to end. Yes, some of the plot points didn’t quite fit the age I had imagined them to be in, but overall, it honestly was a very relatable story that grabs you because you just can’t wait to see what is going to happen next. The secondary characters were a bonus that not only enhanced this story but promise more stories to come! (fingers crossed)

I am highly pleased with this debut (in romantic comedy) novel and I’m looking forward to more from Anne Harper in the future!

THIS WAS SO CUTE! Okay, I just had to say that right off the bat. I loved this book. This is one of my favorite contemporaries ever which is saying something because I’m very picky about them!

I don’t know if it was the southern setting or just the general cute vibes I got but I loved it. Sloane and Brady were so perfect. I love a good fake dating trope and this did not disappoint. They were on fire! She was quirky and cute and he was stoic and grumpy. They made a hilarious balance.

I think I just identified with Sloane a lot. She blushed a lot and always wore her emotions. That’s me! People can always tell what I am thinking based on my facial expressions! Sloane was so enjoyable to read about. She got herself into some hilarious hi jinks where I found my self laughing aloud. And it was so sweet each time how Brady came to her rescue! I loved her growth. She took an extremely embarrassing situation and turned it around for good. She always wore her heart on her sleeve. Plus she had great relationships all around her! From her brother to her best friend, she is just someone I would totally want to be friends with!

On her author bio is says: "Anne Harper writes romantic comedy that embodies the shenanigans of an I Love Lucy episode and the awkwardness of saying “you too” after the waiter tells you to enjoy your meal.” So. True. That’s exactly what this book was! I can’t say enough good things about it

It was one of those- if u start it just make sure it's not late at night cuz you're not going to want to stop- kinda reads. An, I'm already watching the Netflix movie in my head, kinda reads (@netflix any plans??😆).
It's one of those rare breed books where everything just aligns; so naturally written you feel like you're having these conversations yourself + palpable chemistry from page one (without over doing it) + perfect mix of witty and lusty banter + small town charm (naturally read it with the southern accents) = M A G I C ✨

Fake It til You Make It is about Sloane De Carlo and her overnight notoriety from accidentally making her diary blog public. All the embarrassing stories from her entire life, out there for everyone to see. The one redeeming factor was that she never named her crush, and now the world is obsessing over who he is and if anything happened between them.

She runs back to her hometown to lay low, but that wasn't really the smartest idea... her hometown where her unsuspecting teenage crush still lived (albeit now engaged) and where the only person she'd ever told stood behind the local bar able to out her an any minute. Bartender Brady Knox prided himself on his honorability, he'd never spill, but he wasn't about to tell Sloane that when he could use this situation to bring some business to the struggling bar. And so the plan is hatched, for the 3 weeks she plans to be there Brady agrees to be her Guy and fake her happily ever after relationship, and Sloane agrees to use her fame to draw people back to the bar. You'll have to read it yourself for the fun predicaments they find themselves in and judge the unintended attraction, it's worth it go read it!

I adored Fake It Till You Make It! Fake relationship books are some of my favorite and Anne Harper did it very well. Sloane and Brady were perfect and I loved the unique story line. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Sloane is back in her home town hiding, after drunkenly publishing her private blog on to the internet. Everyone wants to know who Guy is, the man she has been in love with for years but never dared tell. the only one who knows is bar tender Brady. She needs him to keep her secret, and ends up in a fake relationship with him.

It all gets complicated and high school mean girl Carol is out to get her. What will happen when the truth comes out?

The fake dating trope is one of my favourites. Yes, you almost always know the outcome but the journey there can be quite fun. This was a cute, funny read. Sloane Was a great character. I love a grumpy male lead and Brady did not disappoint. Great chemistry as well. A well written romance which is worth a look.

This was such a cute story I couldn’t stop laughing. Sloane needs to run for cover when she accidentally makes her private blog public when when the mystery guys identity is being questioned Brady decides to help her out by stepping up as the “mystery guy” he figures he can help her out while helping himself out too.

This book was all kinds of cute and totally refreshing to read. Sloane was so darn relatable. It can be hard to express yourself sometimes, especially when the feelings are overwhelming. It was a fun and relatively lighthearted journey watching as Sloane's inadvertent thrust into the spotlight helped her really come out of her shell and connect with so many people near and far.

I quite enjoyed the setting too. The quirky southern small town of Arbor Bay added an extra fun dynamic to the mix. I have to say I'd love to see more of some of these characters in a future book! This was a perfect feel-good escapism romance, with some of my favorite tropes, sunshine/grumpy and fake dating. I highly recommend to fans of contemporary romance.

As soon as I read this book was set in a small town in Alabama and it was a fake relationship romance, I knew I had to read it.
The characters were the real stars in this story.
I absolutely loved Sloane, she was an amazing character, her background story, her blog posts, her way of being nice and chatty, her awkwardness, she definitely stood out as unique. Her relationship with Emma, her best friend, and Callum, her brother, brought so many hilarious and nostalgic moments and I loved their moments together. I really, really liked Callum, his love for his sister and his kind heart definitely made him one of my favorite characters too. Brady was a little moody, very grumpy, but he was a very, very hot and charming bartender. I really liked how much he loved the bar and how badly he wanted to save it. Sloane and Brady together were definitely two puzzle pieces that fitted together perfectly! Sloane came alive when she was with Brady and Brady could really relax and be himself with Sloane, it was just so easy for them to be together that it really felt meant to be. Their banter was amazing and they were so cute together, it was so much fun to see their relationship slowly becoming more real than either of them could imagine. I was rooting for these two from their very first interaction.
I didn't care much for the other reason Brady ended up jumping in the fake relationship, that ended up stirring a bit of drama (not much though thankfully), also some hilarious scenes were just a little over the top. Apart from that, I had so much fun reading this book, there were scenes that made me laugh so hard there were tears streaming down my face.
If you love the fake relationship trope, romantic comedies and southern charm, you need to read this book.
