A big thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing/Amara for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series but reads great as a stand alone. I can not imagine being in this situation! I laughed in places. I liked Sloane, she was quirky! Brady is a nice guy. Fun book to read. I think most romance readers would enjoy this book. Not always a bad thing to fake it. 3.5 stars

This is the first book that I have read from this author. It was an ok read for me. It started out great but I couldn’t get over the characters and how childish and immature they acted. I like the premise of a fake relationship but it wasn’t enough to keep me invested in the story. I am sure that others will like this story but it just wasn’t for me.

I read an early review copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I loved this sweet romantic story which brings together the good old romance and the modern problem of social media. It was the cover that first attracted me to this novel. I liked the blurb but I must say that the story is much more interesting and fun than I expected. I loved all the characters and I loved the premise. I think it is a perfect romance story for a lazy summer day. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to all readers who like contemporary fiction and romantic comedies.
This book is perfection, it made me laugh and it made me cringe in embarrassment. Sloane is a very relatable character; an awkward woman who has hard time lying and that's exactly what she is doing for the most part. Brady is the hot bartender who isn't over his past love and is willing to do anything just to get closure. Together, the two of them make a perfect couple. Now the question is can they fake it or are they doomed from the start? Living in a small town where everyone knows everything isn't easy for sure. It doesn't help that Sloane has become a local celebrity and nothing is private in her life anymore.

I really liked this sweet, funny, emotional fake relationship romance between Sloane and Brady.

Sloane, who has used her private blog as a diary, unfortunately decides in a drunken mistake to make it public. This starts a lot of problems but also funny mistakes and a sweet romance with the bartender she told the only secret that is still a secret. He tries to help her by offering a fake relationship in return for her helping him get the costumers back to his uncle’s bar via her viral celebrity.
Their common enemy Carol, the towns rich gossip and dramatic character, thinks she has figured out Sloane’s secret and she does everything she can to ruin Sloane’s reputation and hurt Brady in the process. Brady has a secret of his own that creates problems in their relationship.

I loved Sloane and Brady and their journey to figuring out how to let go of the past and jumping into the future together. They have to fight insecurities, what they want out of life and a common enemy to find their HEA. Brady’s growl is amazing and what a scene;)! They are fantastic characters and you can’t help falling for them and their romance.
My only problem is Carol’s character was a little too much and I didn’t quite understand their forgiveness that came quite quickly.

I can definitely recommend this book.

I got this book from Entangled Publishing and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Fake It Till You Make It by Anne Harper was a fun and light read. Sloane has to move to Antarctica now, right? Her blog just went live, by accident, and now everyone wants to know who her “Guy” is. But she cannot share, as he is engaged to someone else. What is a girl to do? Enter Brady, owner of the local bar who figures they can help each other. Easy enough, right? But as they spend time together, lines begin to blur. Their romance was a bit of slow burn as they get to know each other. Fake It Till You Make it by Anne Harper is a fake romance that will leave you with a smile.

Happy reading!

This is Anne Harper’s first book, at least that I know of. She did such a good job with it, I had a lot of fun reading while at the same time I was emotional and could feel the characters chemistry.

At first it took me some chapters to fully adapt for her writing style. I'm usually used to reading books written in the first person and she writes in a kind of third person. So while at first I got confused, once I embrace it I was 100% on board and enjoyed the story a lot.

During some heavy wine induced night, Sloane De Carlo made her blog public and now she went viral. The world now knows a whole lot of embarrassing situations of her life and what people really want to know is who is the Guy? The one she claims she is love and her soul mate since 17 yo and more than 10 years later she still haven’t said said a thing. So now she was The Girl Who Said Nothing and people want to know what’s next. But the Guy is now engaged!

While hiding from the world, attempting to go to Antarctic, she meet Brady Knox the bartender from Cassidy’s bar in her small town. He is the only one who really knows who the Guy is. And while he needs help with advertising his bar, the Guy is also engaged to his ex-girlfriend Felicity. So he proposes to Sloane a deal: he becomes the Guy so she doesn’t have to tell who the Original Guy is and she helps him gain clientele in his bar with her new viral sensation condition.

Of course they both start to spend some time together and real feelings start to grow. But what I liked the most about them is how both of them brought the best in each other and taking them out of their comfort zone. She took a little of his grumpiness and he made her a little less shy. And their chemistry and friendship was so awesome. I loved how they support their ambitions and dreams.

Just wish they both had grown some backbone and tell Carol to mind her damn business sooner. Carol was a snake and crazy jealous girl who didn’t have anything else to do in her life other then terrorize people’s life. She had a front row in their breakup. But it was nice so see Sloane and Brady deal with their insecurities and work their problems.

I was mad at Brady, but then again I swoon so HARD towards the ending. How he got her back and the epilogue? GOALS! Just loved them together and their friends and family were actually amazing!

This cover is adorable!

The story has some really funny moments in it (the spider scene!). I liked the characters a lot - the small town feel gave me Hart of Dixie vibes. Overall I enjoyed it but it didn’t fully hold my focus the entire time.

This was an enjoyable read. The relationship between the hero and heroine was equally sweet and fun. The mean girl was a bit one dimensional, especially how the epilogue completely redeemed her. But overall, the secondary characters really added to the charm of the story. It seemed like some were being set up for future stories and I look forward to reading more from the author

Fake It Till You Make It was a cute fake relationship story. I was so excited for this fake relationship to turn into a real from the first surprise kiss in the bar.  Sloane is so awkward and endearing it drew me in and made me root for her. Blake is so grumpy but opens up around Sloane. To see if they can make it through the hard times and move from fake to real romance get Fake It Till You Make It today!

I have been really enjoying easy reads lately, especially with everything that has been going on lately in this world. Sloane is very embarrassed due to a viral blog post. The rest is a case of mistaken identity and coverup - in the most fun way possible. What I liked most about this book is that it was just...fun. And we all need a little more of that in our lives.

You can see my video review here:

Small Summary:
Sloane De Carlo is going to have to move to Antarctica.
As if it wasn’t bad enough that she accidentally made her private blog very public, and all her innermost secrets and embarrassing moments are trending, now the entirety of the Internet is dying to know who her all-consuming, never-get-over-him crush “Guy” really is. She’s even got a literary agent dangling a book deal in front of her nose—but there’s a catch. She’ll have to get closure with “Guy” and give her story that pitch-perfect ending.
Too bad the real “Guy” is engaged to someone else. #Blessed
The only person in her teeny hometown of Arbor Bay who knows the truth is local bartender Brady Knox. And he’s not telling...for a price. He’ll pretend to be Sloane’s “Guy” if she’ll use her newfound Internet fame to bring more business to his struggling local bar. Brady’s always been a lone wolf, but there’s something about the pint-sized, supremely awkward, yet beautiful Sloane that charms him.
But keeping secrets in a small town like Arbor Bay isn’t easy. And Brady was never meant to be the guy for a pitch-perfect ending...

I received an ARC from Netgalley and I am happy to give my honest opinion.

I was drawn to this book by the super cute cover and the blurb. I knew it was a fake romance, which isn't always my favorite, but I was intrigued by a woman who accidentally published her secret blog.

Sloane lives in Nashville and becomes viral after sharing her secret blog with the world. She returns home to Alabama for a few weeks to lie low. Everyone wants to know who the "Guy" that she is in love with from her blog but she's only ever told one person: Brady, the bartender of her hometown, when she was drunk.

Brady sees Sloane at his bar and decides to capitalize on her fame by posing as the Guy. It helps that his ex is engaged to the Real Guy and he can sort of get back at her plus drum up business for his bar. This is where the book turned into a small town trope. There was a mean girl who roped Sloane and Brady into a party, parade, and pageant. This brings them around town doing favors for people in order to borrow stuff for the party and of course everyone is gossiping. I'm not a big fan of small town romances because who has time for being into everyone's business?

This was a cute story and I really liked the side characters Sloane's brother, Sloane's best friend, Brady's cousin, and the server at their bar. I would like to read more about them, especially Callum. The epilogue was sweet and gave a realistic view of how two people who have lives in other cities can work to make a life together.

Sloane and Brady’s story is a sweet and entertaining read. This is a well written flawless story which is humorous throughout, as well as being steamy, and heart-warming with a fake romance, which all had me intrigued and hooked throughout. I highly recommend for all readers.

Sloane’s life is suddenly thrown into the spotlight inadvertently when she makes her private blog public. Brady is a bartender and part owner of the pub that is suffering a downturn in customer counts. They decide to fake a relationship for different reasons with hilarious outcomes. You will enjoy this crazy ride as these two discover each other warts and all.

Fake It Till You Make It was the first book I read by this author and goodness I feel like I’ve been missing out so much. I read this book in one sitting (although.. that’s not really a surprise nowadays) because I couldn’t stop smiling as I read. I empathized so much with Sloan’s fear of trusting someone enough to fall for them and the mere idea of all my private thoughts and memories going viral? Terrifying.

One of my absolute favorite lines in this book was: “But you have helped show me that without the risk, there is no reward. People don’t leap to fall. They leap to try and fall.”

This book teaches you that there is no greater reward than trying. Whether it’s telling someone you’ve had a crush on for years that you like them even if they don’t reciprocate your feelings or whether it’s taking the leap to trust someone with your heart and hoping they’ll take care of it. I adored the message behind this book as well as the funny anecdotes throughout. This wasn’t just a romance story, it had funny best friend moments, a redeemable mean girl and lots of comedy show type funny moments that leave you entertained right through the end. A definite must read!

I love small town romances. And fake relationships. And FITYMI has lots of charming and funny moments.

I just didn’t love the writing. It felt too clunky and I had a few too many “I don’t think that means what you think it means” moments. Like “the bill of his pants” is not a thing. (At least as far as I know, and I worked in men’s fashion for several years.) It brings to mind something like an awning overhanging his zipper. 😬 Things like that kept pulling me out of the story.

Fake It Till You Make It was an entertaining, sweet, and hilarious read.

After too many drinks one night, Sloane changes the privacy settings on her blog to public. Her blog goes viral and people want to know who the Guy is she has had a crush on for years. The one person in town who knows is Brady, a bartender she told once. She needs the true identify of Guy to stay secret and a way to make people think the story has a happy ending. He needs some publicity for his family bar. They decide a fake relationship can be the solution to both their problems.

I really enjoyed Sloane and Brady as they grow closer and find themselves in a number of funny situations. Though this is a rom-com there is a lot of heart too. Sloane is sweet and kindhearted and the kind of girl you'd like to have as a friend. Her banter with Brady made me laugh out loud a number of times.

A number of secondary characters were introduced that I hope get stories of their own in this series! I can't wait to read more from Anne Harper.

Can I just start out by saying just how much I loved this book? It was a fake relationship that really made sense for both parties. Plus I connected with Sloane right away.

Sloane made a bad, drunk decision and changed her blog/diary from private to public. She woke up the next morning to find out it went viral. She decided to go back to her hometown and hope it blew over quickly. But all the people she wrote about live there and now she has to face them all. Luckily no one knows about the mystery Guy she wrote about.

Brady is the local bartender. He's used to hearing everyone's secrets because drunk people talk, A LOT. When Sloane walks back into his bar, he remembers her telling him about the mystery Guy. He'd never share her secret. Then he finds out her mystery Guy just got engaged to his ex girlfriend and he makes an impulse decision.

While the town's gossip queen is grilling Sloane about the mystery Guy, Brady walks right into their conversation and lays a big fat kiss on Sloane. They decide that Brady will be her Guy and he'll borrow her fame to bring business to his bar. It's a win win for both of them. But they're human and started falling for each other for real, knowing it was going to end in 3 weeks.

This one was cute and funny and had that small town charm touch to it. I really enjoyed it and will definitely read more of Anne's writing 🥰

Fake it Till You Make it was more than just a fun rom-com.

Sloane De Carlo made the mistake of turning her uber personal, and sometimes embarrassing blog, private. All of her secrets from the last few years are revealed there, including her "love" with a boy, but who is that boy? The world wants to know her secrets. Brady is the bartender at a local dying dive who is in need of saving his bar from the shiny new competition and so a plot is made.

While it seemed stereotypical at first. Girl and boy lie about love, and then they fall in love, hidden in the pages was a story of more. There were twists, bachelor style dates, laughter, and tears. I found myself invested in Sloane and making herself happy, and drawn to Brady and how he took such good care of her.

If you want a light and fun romantic story to get you through right now, this might just be it.

Fake it till you make it was the first book written by Anne Harper, but it was well written! It was also featured the fake dating romance trope, which I like when it is done well.

I liked this book because it had a few funny parts like the spider scene. I thought Sloane was relateable and I liked the charm the setting of this. I also liked the idea of the blog being published by accident..there was some laugh out loud stuff!

It was a good, fluffy feel good rom-com. I especially loved the cover too, it was so fun! It was a four star rating. Thank you Netgalley and publishers for the chance to read this blog! This had no impact on my thoughts, my thoughts and opinions are my own.

I knew I was going to love this one just based on the first few pages. Sloane is quite possibly going through one of the most embarrassing moments of her life when her entire blog goes public, releasing a lot of personal stories out into the world for all to read. This includes her post about 'Guy' the unnamed, soon to be married man that she loves and no one knows about. Swept up into unwanted fame, Sloane is not overly concerned of anyone figuring out who the mystery man is, however, the one man who does know needs speaking to.

Brady is a bartender and also the man Sloane confessed her feelings to for the first time. After having a run-in with the woman of the hour, they agree to help each other out until things die down. Sloane puts his bar on the map, and he pretends to be 'Guy'. Brady doesn't necessarily know what he's signed up for but while it should annoy him, he's actually enjoying himself quite a bit.

This was wonderful. I loved the characters. I thought it was perfect for the time we're all in as I just wanted something kind and light in these not so easy times. Highly recommend picking this one up once it's out as you will surely enjoy it. The characters are likeable, the story is light and moves quickly, and honestly, if you love a good fake relationship trope, this is the book for you.
