I love Debbie Macomber books and A WALK ALONG THE BEACH was amazing!
While reading I felt so many emotions: some laughter, some tears, some sadness yet always hoping for a happy ending.
This is a captivating story that I read in one day, I just couldn’t stop turning the pages.
I received a copy from NetGalley for a honest review.
With all the crazy, scary stuff in this world, I needed this story. It hit a lot of topics, and emotions that hit home but in the end made my heart happy. I couldn't put it down. Thank you for the early copy!
LOVED this book and could not put it down from the first page. Debbie Macomber is fantastic at really making you feel like you know and love the characters and becoming so invested in their lives. Her books never disappoint, and this one might be my favorite. Highly recommend!

This is such a great book! It ripped my heart out and made me cry. This book is pack with so much emotion. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Willa is a very strong woman, but we all have a breaking point. Sean loves Willa but like many men he’s clueless and there were a few times that I wanted to slap him. Debbie Macomber is a master storyteller. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
Debbie Macomber is one of my go to authors. She didn’t disappoint with this newest book. Well written and entertaining romance. Beautiful setting and believable characters. I highly recommend this book. I received an arc from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.
I am a huge Debbie Macomber fan and always look forward to new releases. Her books put you in the middle of families, give you new friends, and set you in the middle of small-town America. Usually, the sadness, when the book is over, is because you will miss the people and places that she has written about. When I finished A Walk Along The Beach I was kind of glad to be finished. This is an emotionally draining story. Maybe because I have been self-quarantined for 5 weeks (coronavirus) and am escaping through books, I'm being supercritical. The book involves cancer, death, alcoholism, and a shaky romance. Honestly, at a certain point in the story, I really did not want the couple to stay together! A Walk Along The Beach is no walk in the park. Macomber has written a heavy, emotionally draining story that was hard to put down. I literally cried while reading the story. Debbie Macomber has a gift. She can put us over the top with happiness or take us down to the depths with sadness. I do recommend reading the book and I am giving it five stars. But just be prepared. And that means you are going to need a box of tissues. I voluntarily received a copy of this book from netgalley.

I knew without even opening this book. It would be great as she is one of my favorite authors.
The Story opens with sisters Willa and Harper in Willa's coffee shop in Oceanside the Washington coast
Harper the younger outgoing sister is trying to get Willathe older sister to admit one of her male customers is cute. SEn the male customers comes in everyday even though. He doesn't like coffee to try and work up the nerve to ask Willa . As time goes by Wills accepts a date as "friends" to go along on a photo shoot with Sean to photograph murals in Washington state.
She usually takes no time off as she is the one holding everything to since her Mom passed away. She is there for her family and doesn't take time for herself. Sean doesn't tell her the complete truth about himself. As things change in her family she begins to believe all is well. Family is everything to her but many twist and turns are ahead for her. A wonderful book hoping for a sequel.
This book was so emotional. Get your tissues ready when you read this book. This book is about a sisters love for each other. Yes there is a romance in there but the sisters are the main part of this book. I didn't even read the blurb of the book before reading I just knew it would be good because it was written by Debbie Macomber and I was correct. This book has so much heartfelt emotion that you will be not wanting to put the book down.

Family love and devotion through good times and bad, romance, and illness, are all topics the author so eloquently covers in this book. It truly runs the all the spectrums of these emotions.
I love her books and this one didn’t fail my expectations. It is a book you won’t want to put down. Have your tissues ready! Each character grabs your heartstrings in different ways.
Thank you Random House Publishing Group – Ballantine and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and give my honest opinion of this book.
Debbie Macomber has the unique ability to create characters that you wish you knew. In this deeply touching book, Willa has to deal with the reappearance of her sister's cancer. Willa and her sister Harper lost their mother years ago. Their father turned to alcohol to ease his pain. Willa assumed the role of caretaker for her family. When Harper was diagnosed with leukemia, Willa was with her every step of the way. Recently Harper has been acting impulsively which isn't a normal character trait. Willa has begun a relationship with a customer at her coffee shop. How can she focus on a new relationship, her broken relationship with her father, and the potential reoccurrence of her sister's cancer?
This novel involves tragedy and triumph. It is a deeply emotional look at a family and friends coping with cancer. You feel the pain and devastation of the family. Cancer is an ugly and difficult disease that wreaks havoc on so many. This story will tug at your heart as you see how Willa navigates her relationships. Debbie Macomber has once again written a book that pulls you into her world and you never want to leave. This is a fantastic, long-awaited second story about Oceanside. that will leave you longing for a third story.
This book is set in a small coastal town in Washington, and is about two sisters that share a close bond, as well as being roommates. Willa has taken on the role of Mom in raising her brother and sister, Harper. Now an adult, Harper lives with Willa and helps run her bakery/coffee-shop.
While Willa is falling in love with a cute customer, Sean, Harper learns that her illness is back and she has to fight for her life.
This was a sweet story of sisterhood, love and heartbreak. I laughed, I cried and I fell in love with the ocean side town. This book hit an emotional place in me, and I just didn't want it to end. The author is a long time favorite of mine, and this new story definitely didn't disappoint.

I just finished reading Debbie Macomber’s newest novel, A Walk Along the Beach and I am awed by how she was able to develop such a depth of emotion into it. I found it a bit slow going at first and then I just could not put it down as it gripped not only my interest but my heart. I am also so impressed by the number of serious issues that Ms Macomber was able to seamlessly weave into this touching novel. I don’t know if this novel is meant to be considered a love story but, if so, it is a story of love in many forms and it is also a story of so many challenges that come with living. I highly recommend this book and I know that I will reread it soon. Five Stars.
I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions stated are solely my own.
I really like Debbie and also,so excited for a new book. This one I struggles with, first with Willa’s name, it jus ridding feel, right , but I like the name of her coffee shop a lot. The storyline with her sister, Harper, was wonderful, very true to life. I liked the brother and his story line but I feel he was just an after thought and brought in every now and then and once he got married we never heard from him again. The big storyline was Willa and Sean, Sean’s Dan his dog made me smile,. I get why Willa did what she did and why but it was just weird,
I totally needed this book. During these stressful times, there's nothing like a cozy Debbie Macomber book to make you happy. And I love the cover art. Its so relaxing.
Willa and Harper Lakey were sisters but since their mother died and their father started drinking, Willa became more like a mother to Harper. Especially when a few years before Harper was diagnosed with Leukemia.
Willa ran a successful bakery and one day when Harper was helping out she noticed a nice looking guy who she knew would be perfect for Willa, so as only Harper could, she got them together.
But can life and work challenges be enough for them to stay together?
This book is about family and being there for each other no matter what life throws at you. As usual, Debbie Macomber had me interested from start to finish.
I am a big Debbie Macomber fan. I have read almost every book she has written. I was very pleased to get a sneak peak at this new book A Walk Along the Beach. It is a quick read. The characters are very likable and as I was reading I felt like they were my friends. While personally losing 2 very close family members recently to cancer, I started to wonder if I should finish the book due to the topic (especially about midway through the book). I am glad that I continued even though some tears were shed. I think when the readers can get that involved in a storyline, that is top notch writing! Keep up the good work Debbie.
I give this book a 10+. I warn you once you pick it up, you will not be able to put it down. Have the tissues hand because you will need them. This book will make you laugh and cry all at the same time. At one point I was not sure this book would have a happy ending.
I highly recommend this book you will not regret it.
Thank you random house -ballentine for allowing me to read this title for an honest review.
This story was heartbreaking. I feel like I knew the end before it came, but I just kept hoping it wouldn't be so. I enjoyed the sister relationship development which was the real story more so than the love story that developed. I found some of the love story to be lacking a little, but I enjoyed it none the less. This definitely isn't a typical beach read from Maccomber with a solid happy ending.
A Walk Along the Beach is a beautiful story of love that shines even in the darkest times of loss. The main character mourns the loss of her mother and her sense of childhood as the eldest. She helped raise her siblings when their father chose alcohol as his way of coping with grief of losing his wife and his younger daughter’s battle with cancer. She even continues to keep him in the loop of their family, inviting him to family dinners, visiting him, and keeping him informed of family news such as her brother’s engagement. Without being a birth mother, she has the intuition of a real mother. With her plate full trying to keep her family together as best she can, she has no time or energy for romance. Yet when love appears in the form of a handsome photographer who sees things most miss through his gifted lense, she is surprised to discover there is room in her bruised heart for healing that can only come through true love. This tear -jerker is a masterful journey through the challenges of making choices in the difficult situations that come throughout life. A Walk Along the Beach is the perfect image for the calming beauty of the crashing, never ending waves of love. Love is given and received, inspected, accepted or rejected. But the gift of giving the peace of Selfless love to others is repaid through the cleansing, healing tears of unending, true love that lasts forever. A wonderful tribute!
Debbie Macomber writes beautifully about human relationships with each other. Her characters are always well developed and they could easily be your neighbor. This is a wonderful read. Perfect for spending the day reading and savoring this wonderful novel.
