I got this book because lately I've been wanting to revisit that joyful sense of reading I had when I was a kid. This book follows three characters (because let's be honest- that's all our attention spans had time for back then lol) as they race against time to get back to their futures before the ship sinks. The book also provides some historical facts about the titanic at the end for children to learn a little more about the event.

I love this quick read about kids who get to visit the Titanic on her maiden voyage via time travel. This book has the most charming illustrations. Kids will enjoy soaking in all the fun details. The pictures couldn't be any more perfect!

I definitely recommend this fun time travel adventure. I love that the kids help out at their parents antique store... I just wish they could get a few more customers -- LOL!

I found this to be an enjoyable read, keeping me on my toes throughout. The storyline was written well and flowed seamlessly. I look forward to reading more by this author!

'Lost on the Titanic' by Jessica Rinker was a fun, middle grade read - perfect for the early sci-fi reader.

Antique stores, time travel, and the Titanic...three of my very favorite things! A quick and easy read, I would happily hand this over to any early MG reader in my life.

It features the young Allie and Vic Taylor helping their parents with their antique store. One day they will discover that they can travel back in time to the time of the Titanic and will have to find a way to save their parents' store, their future and most importantly leave the liner before it sinks into the icy waters of the sea.

A book read in one go because I love everything about the Titanic. I immediately hooked on the story which is so engaging, addictive, captivating, full of suspense and twists and turns with very endearing characters. Can't wait to read the book two.

I got this for my son thinking he would like it since he likes the Magic Treehouse Books. He lost interest.

Every child seems to go through a phase in which they are obsessed with the Titanic--and they are going to gobble this one up!

It is an okay introduction to the titanic if your kids is interested in time travel. A good way to teach history. Part of a series so nice to have some characters for a few books.

Allie and Vic are just ordinary kids from Philadelphia who help out their parents with their antiques store and love to play with their puppy Luna and their friend Max. But one day out of the blue shows up a strangely-dressed lady who says she needs to talk to them, all three kids, but before they know it, the dog's swallowed a time-traveling device and they found themselves on the Titanic!

This short book is a fun adventure with beautiful illustrations that all kids will love. Who hasn't at one point wondered what would be like to be to see the Titanic in its glory days? (Though not quite on sinking day.) As someone who is quite interested in history myself, I know I have and I enjoyed the few pages of information about it in the end.

The end of the story really sets it nicely for the other books in the series with a promise of treasure hunting and time traveling, and although I prefer stories with characters a little more mature I have to say I'm looking forward to it. Plus, I have some questions that need answering.
Overall, I really enjoyed it!

What an absolutely fun book! Two siblings and their friend get stuck in a time travel adventure when a mysterious woman shows up in their lives one day with a magic stone. In this first book, the kids get stuck on the Titanic, and knowing the end of that story, they need to find their way back as soon as they can. With some historical facts thrown in, along with awesome illustrations, and did I mention a dog?! This series is sure to be a hit!

What an excellent book that will keep thrill children and educate them at the same time.
I learnt a lot about the Titanic that I didn't already know.
The characters were interesting and the plot moved at a fast and entertaining pace.

I love a great adventure! This new series by Rinker is bound to be one that has kids excited to pick up the next in the series. Reading it as an adult, I wish there was a little more character development as to who this mysterious person coming into the antique shop was - but at the same time for kids - I think the mystery probably fuels them to read more and learn as they go. I absolutely love the child-age appropriate facts and characters introduced during the story and that at the end there was more historical information regarding the Titanic and those same individuals. Overall, a great introduction to a new series of characters that are certain to get into a lot of fun adventures in the near future!

This was actually was a fun book. I am surprised by the fact that I liked it. I really cared about the characters, and Luna is amazing. I love that dog. It's a solid start to a middle grade series, and I want to pick them all up. I also learned a lot about the Titanic, which was fun.

I had a ton of fun reading this story. These were regular kids who one day met someone that ended up sending them on a wild adventure. They find themselves on a one of a kind ship, and know they need to find a way back home. Seeing this wonder in person takes their breath away a bit, and they meet a few people along the way who help them out. As this tale comes to a close, these kids find out their adventures have only just begun.

When I was a kid I adored books bout time travel and history like The Magic Tree House series and the description of this book reminded me of that so I was eager to read it! Now, I'm obviously not the intended audience for this book, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. I would say this book is really good for elementary age kids. It was short, sweet, and interesting.
I would have liked to get a little bit more development in all of the characters and the whole being-on-the-Titanic part, but keeping in mind that this is a book for very young readers, it's already a good length (about 120 pages). The illustrations in the book were really awesome and definitely helped me to get into the story because I could see what was happening. However, reading an ebook version made it a little harder to read around the pictures because the page would end in the middle of a sentence, and the next page would be an illustration so I would then have to either go back and reread the sentence or I would skip over the picture and go back later.

This is a middle grade novel that starts off with 3 kids, one dog, and a magic infinity spinner. What starts off as an ordinary day for these kids (sibling duo and their friend) in a family antique store turns into a wild adventure that leads them to being aboard the Titanic. They learn about the people on the ship and learn about some of the history surrounding it. They quickly learn that they need to get off of the ship before it sinks, but what they learn along the way will keep you wanting more!

It was a great novel for this age group and if there’s going to be more in this series (and yes there will be), I can’t wait to read them! And I absolutely LOVE the illustrations!

I thought the premise of this middle grade novel was great. Time travel to the Titanic? Awesome!
But in the end I found the story itself kind of lacking.

The missing dog of the kids seemed to have more page-time than the explanation of how and why everything happened. I didn’t really get a good enough conclusion - maybe the next issue of this series (?) will give us more background on the time travel and the villain of the story.
And since this whole thing takes place on the Titanic I would have liked a bit more of them exploring and maybe seeing the iceberg or just doing more than just running around on the ship that could have been any other ship i.m.o.

I did really like the style of the pictures though, I thought they were well done and very cute.

This is the first book in a new series of kids time traveling to historic events. It was a quick read and I would classify it as an early chapter book. The characters and their dog were likeable, but I found the historical information about the Titanic very superficial and basic. I was hoping for something along the lines of the Time Warp Trio or the I Survived Series and I was disappointed.

A promising start to a fun new middle grade series.

Rinker’s first installment in the Out of Time series is a doozy: Our time traveling kiddos are transported to the Titanic, where saving themselves from the sinking ship becomes intwined with saving their parents’ antique shop in the modern world.

The book feels like a swashbuckling adventure, but also imparts an important history lesson in a way that is accessible and doesn’t feel like work for those young readers who may be averse to “learning something” in their purisuit of fiction reading.

I’d add that this is a fun one for adults as well, even if you’re already aware of most of the history of the Titanic that is included in the book. Top marks for the delightful illustrations as well.
