Very good book, have not read a book by Ms. Tate Billingsley that was not good! Good story line, also learned something about Dementia that I didn't know.

First of all, I finished this book in a few hours. Second of all. where has this book been all my life? A bit dramatic, I know, but I really enjoyed this read by ReShonda Tate Billingsley. I have read so many of her books already and this up there with my faves. Jill Reed learns a truth about herself and her mother that she was not prepared to face. I loved how the author allowed us to see the "WHY" behind each character's actions. You will not be disappointed in this read.

This is an amazing story!
It immediately grabbed me and would not let go until I had read the final word on the very last page!
The writing is incredible and it moved quickly, never slowing or feeling long.

Jill is a married woman who has never had an easy life. She was raised by her mother, Connie, who now has dementia. There has never been a doubt that love was present even though money was always tight.
Connie always told Jill "Be careful what you wish for, baby girl. Money is not the root of all happiness."
There are days now when Connie makes perfect sense and then other times she gets agitated and often will make statements that do not make sense at all regarding Jill's father that she has never met in person.
When an older gentleman comes to Jill's place of employment and reveals an unbelievable and yet interesting declaration, the world changes for the entire Reed family!

Definitely- set aside a day to be with these wonderful characters in this novel!

I've been excited about this book since I first heard about it, and it did not disappoint. The characters sucked you into the story and the story kept you turning pages as fast as you could. I devoured it in a day. I loved it.

Well, she has done it again. Very good read about a young lady with a family finding out the woman she thought is her mother may not be. What follows is an engrossing read which is beautifully written and great reading. I read this book in 2 sittings. Very enjoyable. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on this review.

ReShonda Tate Billingsley never fails to deliver! Jill Reed grew up in a household with lots of love but not much money. It was basically just her and her mother. However, her mother was there for her in every way possible, providing for her needs and making Jill the center of her universe. Unfortunately, Connie, Jill’s mother begins to show signs of dementia. Connie talks constantly of the past, many memories that Jill understands and can relate to but also some strange mumblings that don’t make sense. Jill and her husband attribute this to the dementia. However, one day, a customer that Jill has waited on many times before, tells her a story. A story that is so devastating that it is almost beyond her belief. This turns her world upside down and sets her on a whole new path and future. Now Jill must make a decision about her life that will affect her, her husband, her mother and others.
I loved this book! I started and finished this book in one sitting. I did not want to, but I just could not put it down. This book contains mystery, but more importantly it shows the author’s understanding of human emotions by showing the effect that this secret has on Jill and on others. If you are looking for a book that will pull you in and not let you go, this is the book for you! Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the privilege of reviewing this ARC! I am looking forward to the next book by this phenomenal author!

The Stolen Daughter
by ReShonda Tate Billingsley
Holy buckets! Where has this author been hiding my whole life? I cannot believe this is her 51st book, yet the first one that I have read.
I was drawn in by the premise of the story, as an adoptee, you always kind of wonder if something like this would happen. Not many authors write about this type of situation well, yet Billingsley nailed it.
I love Jill’s spunk, sass and love for the woman who raised her. I was mesmerized by the story from the first page. I barely put it down. The author writes with such a phenomenal understanding of human emotions and how this type of situation would effect someone be it a child, parent, nephew or friend.
I so highly recommend this book. I must go find another book by her ASAP.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley. The views given are my own.
