Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I'm usually quite found of this author. she has a talent for writing gritty, passionate stories but this time I felt she missed the mark. If you haven't read the previous books in this series than you may have missed the sizzle that was already growing between Wolf and Dana. This books jumps right into their story and adventure. Now the plot wasn't that bad. Undercover romances are my favorite especially between two opposing forces and yet I felt things moved pretty quickly with these two. Wolf plays the tortured ex soldier who doesn't let anyone in but acts like a stubborn little Nancy when he's around Dana. Spraying whip cream on her body at their first sexual scene just contradicted his macho Dom persona.
I became quite restless with their constant denial of commitment for each other when it's quite clear he would get in front a grenade for her. Just impossible to really enjoy.

In the previous books, Wolfe come across as a fun, carefree, sugary coffee-loving, kitten carrying man. In this book, he still carries around the kitten, and he still loves his sugary beverages, but he’s less fun and more serious in this book. While I expected he had a more serious side to him, I didn’t think it would be to the extent it was. In many ways, it felt like the Wolfe we were introduced to in previous books wasn’t the Wolfe we received here.

I had mixed feelings about Dana. On one hand I admired her determination, but on the other hand, there were times where she was too stubborn. She wasn’t awful, but she wasn’t my favorite heroine of the Deeps Ops series.

Roscoe, the high heel wearing, alcoholic dog has several scene stealing moments in this book. While most of them were humorous, he does, at one point, demonstrate his loyalty to the team and shows he’s not just around for the laughs.

Overall, I thought it was a good book. The suspense was great, as always, and I always enjoy watching the team rally around one another. Despite my issues with some of the characters, I would recommend giving it a read if you enjoy romantic suspense.

Broken by Rebecca Zanetti is the third book in the Deep Ops series and was as powerful and compelling as the previous two books.

I was excited to find out that this one was about Clarence Wolfe who I absolutely adore. How can you not love a large alpha male who rescues a kitten and brings sweet latte drinks for all of his team? Ms. Zanetti introduces a few new characters in this book that I hope will continue to be part of the team as I am intrigued by each of them. The plot was fast paced, filled with action, steamy romance, and an evil psycho from Wolfe's past. Roscoe's antics at a wedding made me laugh out loud which did provide a little relief from the intense storyline. I couldn't put the book down until the end and want the next one in the series now.

I've had a soft spot for Wolfe -- the big, gruff, maybe crazy, tough guy of the deep ops team -- since he first came on the scene and he was fully cemented there when Kat popped out of his pocket the first time. Now we get to find out the details of just what happened to him, what is driving him, & why he (claims to) refuses to get attached to anyone. Dana is gutsy and smart and decides she's had enough of the bull, it's time to listen to the tell-tell small actions and her own gut when her & Wolfe's cases seem to intersect and no one is sure who is being targeted or by whom. there's plenty of action, humor & romance all nicely paced to keep the pages turning. a couple new interesting characters are added to the ops team to help out. will the team & Dana get Wolfe to realize that they aren't a vulnerability for his enemy to exploit but rather an asset and strength that he can use to win in the end? While I would have liked a little more Kat, there's a good dose of Roscoe & his antics to help make up for it.

Broken is another great deep op adventure that will keep you reading until the end. The characters are intriguing and the animals will put a smile on your face as you read. Lots of action and twists.

Totally enjoyed this book. This entire series is excellent reading. I love the Deep Ops Team. So many different characters and personalities. Wolfe tries but can't resist the connection he and Dana have. Suspense, revenge, romance, steam....this book has it all. I highly recommend this series if you love romantic suspense.

I was a little underwhelmed with Wolfe's book. All through the series he's this enigmatic, kooky, dangerous guy and I was fully prepared to be entertained and wooed by his quirks and alpha-ness . In his story he's just obsessed with revenge and trapped in the past. Even the romantic relationship with Dana feels like a sidenote in his quest for redemption. Their sex scenes had an almost hesitant, expiration-date feel to them, and I was weirdly underwhelmed with their first time. Usually there's fireworks and bells, whistles, smoke and butterflies... theirs was just... ok. And then we get a whoopsie-baby and it went to 'meh'.
There's lots of plot movement, the supporting characters remain awesome, but this book was more action and adventure than romance or depth. It was the book equivalent to watching shit blow up for 2 hours at the cinema on a man-date.
I'm still completely committed to everything that Ms Zanetti writes, but this wasn't my favourite of all her stories.

Broken
Rebecca Zanetti
May 26, 2020

Broken is the third in Rebecca Zanetti’s Deep OPs series. This novel features Clarence Wolfe, the very tall, dark, and handsome ex-Navy Seal is a Deep Operations Specialist with the government. His latest job is one that he has put himself into. He is investigating what went wrong in a shut down of a major heroin operation while he and his team were in Afghanistan. It is not within his Deep OPs schedule but his gut tells him that the master of the devastation was one of the force he worked with, Gary Rockcliff. In order to find him Wolfe heads to a home owned by one of the super rich, Master Tennington, who is hosting a party for members of Captive, a private sex club. Entrance was by invitation only. Wolfe appeared at the door in his leather pants and dark, tight t-shirt, dressed to play the role of the dom. Who did he spy entering behind him, dressed in a tight green corset, black skirt and high heels? Fellow co-worker, Dana Mulberry, who was also on assignment only hers was to investigate and journal the disappearance of a close friend and journalist, now missing for a month. Dana had intel that pointed her in the direction of Alfred Nelson. Candy’s notes had led her into the scene where he could be found. While trying to appear cool and calm walking to the bar, she spied Wolfe. Concerned he might blow her cover she tried to avoid him. Was he a member of the BDSM scene?
While trying to down a shot of tequila she was trapped by Charles, a guest who felt she would be the ultimate partner for him in a party room. At the same point, Wolfe appeared and took Dana’s hand. He introduced himself then asked the bartender for cuffs. He puts a cuff on Dana and a clue to the men revolving around her that he is the Dom and she is his sub.
This was the intro to the assignments. It followed the direction of the first two in the series keeping the same characters playing within the Deep OPs family. I have read and quite enjoyed Taken and Fallen and have tried to patiently wait for the continuation of the story. Broken continues on with Wolfe and Dana, their history and a very thrilling and exciting present. Once again, Zanetti gives us another page-turner. Deep OPs are always a fun but gripping journey.
Whether or not you have read the first two books, you will thoroughly enjoy Broken. Rebecca Zanetti’s newest book is published by Zebra Books of Kensington Publishing Corporation and will be available on May 26, 2020. It was my great pleasure to read and review Broken. I appreciate their allowing me to do so. This is another win for Zanetti and all of the readers who enjoy it. By the way, then next time you enjoy a latte, put whipped cream and sprinkles on top in honor of Wolfe.

This latest entry in the Deep Ops series features Clarence Wolfe and reporter Dana Mulberry. If you've read the other books in this series, you know that each of the agents in the Deep Ops series are a bit quirky. Well maybe quirky doesn't quite say it all but you get the drift. Wolfe has plenty of issues but one thing that is never in question is his loyalty to his friends. He will do anything to protect those he loves and he will stop at nothing to get the bad guy. This romantic suspense had plenty of action, romance and some humor especially because of Roscoe, a former bomb-sniffing dog, and his drinking problem. Where else can you find a cast of characters like this? I can't wait to see what is in store for Angus Force and his own personal mission!

I just loved this book. So far next to Roscoe the German Shepard, Wolfe is my favorite character. He’s got so many quirks that mak him so adorable. This is in spite of the fact that he is huge and can be very scary. He’s got a huge heart. Dana is perfect for him. Her family is a little nuts so Wolfe fits right in. Dana isn’t afraid of him. She challenges him in a good way. The storyline was so captivating. The author interlinked everything so cleverly. Roscoe had a much bigger and equally funny part in this book. Ther ar new and interesting characters introduced to the series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

I love this series so much! A bunch of misfits in a hidden away government group. Acting as detectives, researchers and field agents. And they are all so beautifully flawed it's impossible to not fall for them. And feel for them!
Wolfe and Dana had a terrific story, and I just loved getting to know them better. Seeing them fight. Seeing them love. Seeing them strategize.
Another great installment in the Deep Ops!

Wolfe is naturally a loner after losing his fellow special ops teammates but he has a new team who he is more than a little fond of. And he is definitely more than a little fond of one freelance reporter - Dana Mulberry - who has wormed her way far deeper than anyone has been in a long time. But when her friend’s disappearance and a ghost from his past resurfaces they are going to have to fight to survive. Then they can figure out the rest.

Clarence Wolfe is one of those few Alpha heroes who is oddly logical and sweet. He is blunt and pretty awkward but is honest and kind and honorable and really loves whipped cream and sprinkles in his coffee. Dana is like a Lois Lane reporter and I just love watching her wrap Wolfe up in knots.

This is a great mystery, lovely romance (that gets steamy without being overly explicit) and a highly action packed book until the last page.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Broken is another fun and exciting action packed story. Once again the reader gets an inside look at this team of oddballs and eccentrics. I love the dynamics between these characters as they all have such unique quarks; it keeps me tuning the pages. I can always count of Rebecca Zanetti for an action paced romance with humor and heat.
In this story we meet Dana and Wolfe. Dana is a reporter working on blowing up a great story and Wolfe just happens to be on the same track, albeit for different reasons. They have two different missions, two different goals but ultimately need to work together to accomplish them. These two are opposites yet there is something about their personalities that pulls them together. The push and pull was wonderful to read about and I thought it was just enough to create some tension and desire between them. Well developed and fun, these two were made for each other. They get into scrapes but also create an amazing HEA. Oh and Roscoe gets me every time! LOL.

The action (as always) is fast paced and really well detailed. I felt that I was there and participating with the characters. The story is not predictable so it was fun to learn each new twist and turns; while it does take some time for the action to present itself, the ending was explosive. I really enjoyed this story and think those who enjoy romantic suspense stories with humor will enjoy this one. I received an ARC via NetGalley and Kingston Publishers and I am leaving my honest review. 4.25 stars.

This is romantic suspense at its best! It's Wolfe's story and it's worth the wait. He has always been my favorite character in the series. Now we get to see what made the man. Dana is the perfect heroine for this alpha man. She is strong and independent with a penchant for trouble.

There is so much to love about this story. The mystery is full of action, suspense, tension, and twists. The romance is sweet, sexy, and steamy. The characters we already love are present and we meet some great new ones that bode well for more books in the series. Dana's family are a story in their own right and I hope we see more of them. There is a big dose of humor. Thank you Roscoe! I laughed so hard at the wedding my stomach ached.

This has quickly become one of my favorite series and this book was better than I could have imagined. I am anxiously awaiting Angus's story and the hunt for Lassiter.

Wolfe’s story is finally here!
******
Overall Rating: 4, Wolfe in Leather Pants, stars
Kindle Unlimited: no
Standalone: yes, but you would miss out on so much if you haven’t read the other books in the series
Steam: 3, whipped cream, 🔥🔥🔥

I have been patiently waiting for this book. Wolfe has been my fave character from the beginning. I mean who wouldn’t love a kitten carrying, whipped cream and sprinkles coffee drinking, sweet but deadly, alpha male? It was love at first read for me and finally I get his and Dana’s story!

Dana is the feisty reporter that has captured Wolfe’s attention, and that’s a problem because Wolfe needs to be singleminded in order to focus on his personal mission. However, lines are going to cross, missions merge, and Dana may just finally breakthrough to the man behind the lone wolf. Dana provides the right balance of sass, strength and support needed to tame the beast.

Wolfe is just as awesome as always, only now we get to delve into why he is the way he is. He has been through hell, made it out with singular focus, payback and revenge. Dear sweet Clarence.

This book has suspense, all of our fave characters and a bad guy you will hate! It was a wonderful blend of intrigue and romance. Everything is coming to a head and I can’t wait to see what will happen next!

I have enjoyed this entire series and I can’t wait to read more. This is definite recommend from me, especially if you are into romantic suspense, have a thing for imperfect underdogs, and a little humor. Grab this series today!!

Yikes! Broken is a 6 star romantic suspense by Rebecca Zanetti. Ms. Zanetti has delivered a well-written book populated by an outstanding cast of characters. Wolfe is ex-military and working for Deep Ops when his path crosses with Dana, his journalist friend, at a sex party. Dana is on a quest to find her missing friend or discover what happened to her. Wolfe and Dana's story is paced with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. This book had me on the edge of my seat, I loved every page and look forward to more from Rebecca Zanetti in the future. Broken is book 3 of the Deep Ops Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love this series and honestly, Wolfe is one of the best characters.

How can you not love Clarence Wolfe. He rescues a tiny kitty and keeps him in his pocket so he feels safe. He is so thoughtful always bringing treats to his co-workers. He is always ready to back up his teammates. He is also very protective. Maybe too protective. Maybe too protective to the point he will give his own life on a solo mission rather than endangering his well-trained and well-connected teammates.

Wolfe has shown up in each novel and novella in the series and is always ready as back someone up, putting his life on the line for his new family. But after losing his team in Afghanistan, he isn’t going to risk any of them in his quest to find the man that betrayed them all. He just needs to figure out how to keep them out of his business while also helping on their current investigations and while trying to keep his “friend” Dana Mulberry safe while she tracks down her missing friend.

As a reporter, Dana isn’t going to let danger keep her away from an important story and her friend was onto something very dangerous when she went missing a few months ago. While she doesn’t mind having Wolfe around to watch her back, she is ever frustrated with being kept in the friend-zone when there is so much chemistry between them.

When they both show up at a BDSM club for a meeting and find their source dead, it is only the beginning as their separate cases begin to collide.

The Deep Ops team is a ragtag bunch each with their own issues and PTSD. They have each been assigned to this team from their various organizations but together they make a great team. Of them all, you really do have to love Wolfe in this series, so it was very exciting to get his story. He is such a lovable guy but he has never had a family. After losing so much, he doesn’t even seem to realize that he has made a family with the Deep Ops team and how far he will go to protect them.

Although they probably will not come back into the story, I really like Dana’s family who we meet when Wolfe insists on going with Dana to protect her when her story heats up. Her sisters are great and I loved their redneck Bingo game of the wedding guests. So funny.

I have wanted the story between the head of the team and the shrink assigned to them since the first book and I am not sure if I am happy or upset that new members have now joined the team. So, Yay, looks like we are going to get more Deep Ops stories and Boo, that means we have to wait longer to see what is up between Force and Nari.

This is definitely my favorite Rebecca Zanetti series and there really aren’t any that I don’t like.

A lovely romantic couple, with an amazing chemistry, features in “Broken”, by Rebecca Zanetti (Zebra), a story full of suspense, action and romance. And a tortured wounded hero, who sees himself as damaged goods.
I loved Wolfe, a big, rugged, super-protective alpha man, with a caring and gentle side, and completely in love with the heroine. All men in this story are appealing: tough, yet capable of being affectionate. Wolfe’s wounds aren’t as developed as I would have liked, its effects not enough interwoven into the plotline, but he is still an interesting wounded hero.
Wolfe and Dana are great together; their attraction is a confirmed issue since the beginning of their friendship, yet that doesn’t diminish the appeal of their relationship. There’s plenty of tender moments, cuddling, hot, heartfelt kissing and graphic sex scenes written with depth and emotion.
I felt I missed the characters’ backstory and relationships from previous books in the series, which I haven’t read; I found the plot was perhaps too expanded – it was suspenseful but also dragged sometimes - and the cat and the dog had too much spotlight.
