“Murder in Waiting” by Lynn Cahoon the 11th instalment in the " A Tourist Trap Mystery" series. I really enjoy this series and this authors other series too.

Visiting South Cove, California and Coffee, Books & More is always a pleasure. I love the main set of characters Jill, Amy, Aunt Jackie, Greg and Toby they feel almost like family now. There was a lot happening with the couples in this instalment but I was happy to see the natural progression in their relationships.

I loved the subtle hint that Deek is saving up to attend a writers retreat in Colorado. I think that would be an awesome crossover between the two series to have him arrive as a quest at Cat Latimer's B&B.

As for the mystery I found it to be well plotted and it moved along at an even pace. There were several suspects for the murder and you find yourself second guessing on who the murder can be. Overall I found this to be a great story.

I highly recommend this series to all my cozy friends.

I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Kensington Books and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my OWN.

Murder In Waiting is the 11th book in the fabulous Tourist Trap cozy mystery series and is a wonderful addition to the series! This series has everything I love about cozy mysteries- likable interesting characters, an intriguing cozy mystery, friendship, family, and humor. What's not to love! Jill Gardner owns Coffee, Books & More along with her Aunt Jackie. Jill's best friend,Amy, is getting married. As the Maid of Honor, Jill has to plan the bachelorette party and help with the wedding preparations. They decide on a couples trip to Las Vegas. Just before they all leave for the trip, a local is hit by a vehicle and dies and Jill sees it happen. Jill's boyfriend, Greg is a Deputy with the police department so he is involved with the case. Jill and Greg need to solve the case so they can enjoy the trip. On top of all of that, someone is leaving notes on the store's door saying they are closed and causing trouble for Jill. It all keeps Jill very busy, but not too busy to investigate the death. This is a very enjoyable book and series!

I was so glad the read the newest in the Tourist Trap Mystery series. Jill and Amy are a duo that I could easily find myself meeting at Coffee, Books, & More. This time Jill is trying control Amy as a bride during the wedding preparations. However, when a Heritage Society expert is killed by a speeding vehicle in front of her eyes, she'll tackle solving his murder. She also has to deal a bit of vandalism, hiring a new person for the shop and trying to fend of real estate agents that want to buy her house.

This was one that kept me on my toes as we were 'working on the case'. I'm already ready for the next one!

Although this is far out in a series, it's no problem reading the book as a stand-alone. However, the characters are so good, you'll probably want to read the rest. It's also a very typical cozy mystery, and the excellent writing is very easy to read.

Love this series! You don't have to read them in order, this one works well as a stand-alone, but I think you will enjoy them more if you do. It's fun seeing the character progression. There are several things going on in this book that make it a fun read. Jill is preparing for her best friend's bachelorette party in Las Vegas while trying to get her house registered as a historical landmark. She's run into some issues with the Heritage Society and then one of their members is murdered right in front of her. On top of that, City Council is dumping blame on her bookshop for rising fees. Jill's got to juggle all of these problems, support her friend, and solve a murder! I love the characters and the drama.

I just finished Lynn Cahoon’s Murder is Waiting and it was worth “waiting” for (apologies for the pun). It was a fun, fast and engrossing read.  I am a big fan of Lynn Cahoon’s books and enjoy the Tourist Trap Mysteries. I appreciate that the characters and their lives are not stagnant. There is a chronology to the series and each book brings new developments in the characters’ lives and personalities. This book, possibly more than others, brought more evolution in the world of Jill Gardner, her family and friends. If I had one complaint about this book, it is that the climax was a bit out of the blue and rushed. That said, I truly enjoyed this book, recommend it highly to fans of cozy mysteries and very much look forward to the next entry in this series. Four and a half stars.

I was given a free copy of this book by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions stated are solely my own.

In the latest installment of the Tourist Trap Series, Jill is facing contention in every direction. Someone wants the property her house is on and has gone so far as to imply it's willing to be sold. As readers know, no doesn't always mean no until a body ends up dead. Jill needs to find out who is trying to sell off her house and why. Also, attacks are being taken at her business. After being falsely blamed for something, retaliation finds it's way to Coffee, Books & More. Who's trying to ruin her business? Does it have anything to do with things happening with her house and the vacant lot next to it? As if that wasn't enough, Jill is the Maid of Honor to her Bridezilla bestie. Everything comes to a head when the gang travels to Las Vegas for a Bachelor & Bachelerette party.

I always enjoy catching up with this group of characters. While the mystery part of the story line isn't the as strong as other aspects, it still keeps you intrigued. All the characters are fun and interactive and will keep you entertained until the next book of the series arrives. If you're in the mood for a light, fun read you will enjoy this book.

I just love Jill and Greg, and everyone else in South Cove. Lynn Cahoon's latest Tourist Trap Mystery is wonderful, It starts out with a shocking hit-and-run, and unfolds from there as a delightful look into the lives of the many characters in South Cove. I feel especially tender in my feelings toward Toby and his disappointing love life. I enjoyed the hope I feel for him as the book concludes. The mystery is well done, there is a trip to Las Vegas and even introduction of some federal agents. All this with Jill and Greg working on real life relationship issues. I cannot recommend this entire series highly enough, and 'Murder in Waiting' is a superior example of what you will get.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Another thoroughly satisfying read in the Tourist Trap series! I enjoyed seeing what all my favorite characters are up to in South Cove. In between planning a bachelorette party for her best friend and dealing with threats to her business, Jill witnesses a hit and run. As Jill and her detective boyfriend investigate, they uncover that the accident was murder. I love all the books in this series, and this latest book is no exception.

Yet another great book by Lynn Cahoon.

I adore this series, and just how realistic Jill, the main character's, thought process.
This book keeps me interested as .the murder story is full of twists and turns, and the secondary stories are just enough to keep the storylines going.

Highly recommend this series, and especially this book.

Jill is procrastinating planning her best friend’s bachelorette party and making table settings for the wedding by focusing on a local historian’s murder. Promising Greg to stay out of it, she once again can’t especially after he asks for research help. Relationship issues pop up as everyone seems to be engaged except for them.

Murder in Waiting is the latest book in Lynn Cahoon's Tourist Trap Mysteries. The author has an appealing way of writing her cozy mysteries for a newcomer and someone who can't wait to see what all of the cast of characters in South Cove are up to. The murder rates per capita in these small towns always crack me up but Lynn's stories are charming, entertaining, and suspenseful. Perfect for lovers of Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. I can't wait for the next book to reunite with my fictional friends.

This is my favorite series by this author. I love this town and enjoy the characters. Although, I always find the aunt irritating. Good heart but a pushing character. There is a lot going on in this book, but it never gets confusing.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing Corp. for a copy of "Murder In Waiting" in exchange for an honest review.

This was visit #11 to South Cove to spend time with Jill Gardner. This book also revisited Book #2 in the series "Mission to Murder" which revolved around Jill finding the South Cove Mission Wall. In Book #11 Jill is still waiting to hear from the Heritage Society to see if there is going to be funding to preserve the wall.

Frank Gleason from the Society is back in this book and he becomes the centrepiece of the story. Also in this story the Council is increasing dues for the Business-to-Business meetings and every shop owner is blaming Jill since the meetings are held at Coffee, Books and More.

The side stories are property developers who want to buy Jill's house in order to build a water park. Someone is sabotaging Jill's store with the intent to force her out and to sell her house. Amy and Justin's preparations for their wedding. Aunt Jackie has hired a new employee without consulting Jill. Of course, there is also a murder. This would not be South Cove without one.

The storyline takes Jill, Greg, Justin, Amy, Aunt Jackie and Harrold to Las Vegas where the crime is solved and a huge surprise awakes Jill. A truly wonderful addition to the Tourist Trap series.

I love the Tourist Trap mystery series! Murder in Waiting does not disappoint. The book centers around Jill preparing for her best friend's bachelorette party in Las Vegas and dealing with issues surrounding her home in South Cove. Jill has been trying to get her property recognized as a historic site for some time and recently there's been some snags in her application, furthermore she'd been pressured by multiple people to sell her property. When a member of the historical society ends up being run down right infront of Jill she wonders if it's all related.
There's lots of developments surrounding the various couples in the series, but I still wanted more. The characters in this series are so rich and I'm always looking for more interaction with the various townspeople. The mystery itself was a little predictable, but I still enjoyed the read very much. Highly recommend this series!

I really enjoy this series. It's characters are great, it's just like visiting with old friends. I thought the mystery was interesting although not a prominent a part in the book as you would think. There's so much going on in Jill's and everybody's else's lives that the murder just doesn't seem that important. I liked the reveal although it was fast and a bit hurried. #MurderinWaiting #NetGalley

This was a wonderful installment in the series. I loved getting more progress with Jill and Greg in addition to the usual excellent cozy mystery story. There were deeper emotions portrayed with the characters, which was really interesting to read.

What's going on with my favorite cozy mystery characters? They all seem to be involved with weddings right now...bride, maid of honor, wedding planner, caterer...everybody is hung up on weddings! Maybe it's because these books will be released in time for June wedding season. That being said, even with 2 (count them 2) weddings, Ms. Cahoon presents us with an, as always, interesting mystery and murder. I enjoyed seeing what the returning characters are up to and look forward to what elements the new folks will add to the series. A great way to keep the series fresh. I always look forward to the new adventures of the South Cove residents!

As always, the mystery was top notch and reminded me why I love these characters.
