A Secret for a Secret is Ryan Kingston's addition to the All In series. While many of the characters from the previous books make appearances, this is truly a stand alone novel. I really enjoyed this one! While it did not make me laugh as much as the previous novels, it really draws you in to the story. I read this one in under two days which is really fast for me recently.

Kingston meets Queenie in a bar at a low point and they end up having a one night stand neither one knowing who the other is. Fast forward 6 weeks and they find out their lives are very much connected seeing as Queenie's father is the GM for Kingston's hockey team. Sparks continue to fly and chaos ensues.

I highly recommend this one to anyone who loves hockey romances, Helena Hunting or anyone looking for an amazing romance novel to read.

You need to read this series!

Goalie Ryan (King) Kingston has two problems he is dealing with, the first is finding out that his sister is actually his mother AKA “momster” and that his former one-night stand who left a sticky note telling him thanks and no phone number is the daughter of the team’s general manager and the team has just been warned off from dating her. Queenie Masterson is working as her dad’s assistant until she figures out what she wants to go back to school to finish her degree.

A Secret for a Secret has so much in the story that I wasn’t expecting and I didn’t want to stop to reading one more chapter so I read until it needed charging. You need to buy the entire series plus it’s related to her Pucked series for more books to read!

P.S. I would love to see Jake Masterson’s story!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

5 King and Queen Stars! I devoured this one! I absolutely loved Kingston and Queenie’s banter, so witty and flirty. Their chemistry is off the charts hot! Add in past characters and prepare to laugh and swoon. A great addition and probably my favorite of this series! A definite must read!

4 1/2 Stars! He is the calm and she is the storm!

Kingston likes his life nice and orderly ... he’s every parents dream son-in-law. But when he finds out that his sister is really his mother, he goes off the deep end and gets drunk and takes home the crazy girl from the bar. Queenie just can’t get her life together. She always ends up running home to daddy and he makes everything right for her. So six weeks after she has a hot one-night stand, she goes to work for her father. Her father is the GM for a hockey team and guess who’s the goalie ... that’s right, her hot one-night stand.

This book made me laugh out loud with how opposite King and Queenie were ... But yet they are perfect for each other. He’s a neat freak while she’s a slob, he has his life all planned out while she’s a mess ...but they both have their secrets. A great addition to the series. I sure hope that Queenie’s dad gets a story ... maybe with King’s mom?

A Secret for a Secret is the third book in the All In series. Helena Hunting has become well-known in the Rom-Com genre and rightfully so. You can always count on good humor to go along with a great story!

Ryan "King" Kingston plays for the NHL's Seattle team and to put it mildly, he's got a crazy family. He's just learned some life altering news, so he does what he rarely does and heads to a bar to have some drinks. What he doesn't anticipate is taking a woman home with him and even beyond that, he doesn't ever expect to see her again. But you know how that goes...

Queenie Masterson is trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. She's just recently lost her job and decided to move closer to her father, Jake, who is the GM of the Seattle NHL team. She ends up becoming his assistant and while she's good at her job, it seems that chaos tends to follow her.

When King and Queenie realize that they were each other's one-night stand from weeks before things become complicated. They have chemistry like no other, but because they are both affiliated with the team, and Queenie promised her dad that she wouldn't date players, things hit a dead end before they can reconnect. Will that stop them though?

King is amazing. He's quirky, but I loved that about him. He is so down to earth, caring, considerate and he's definitely a rule follower. The way he treats Queenie and stands by her, defends her and loves her is awesome. Queenie is short on self esteem and rightfully so based on things that have gone on in her life. I enjoyed seeing her grow as the book went on when she was surrounded by the right people.

Another aspect that I loved is that we got to see people from previous books, including Alex and Violet, which is always wonderful. This was highly entertaining and I look forward to what Helena Hunting has to offer us next!

Thank you so much for an arc of A Secret for a Secret.

I really liked A Lie for a Lie and I loved A Favour for a Favour. Unfortunately I couldn’t really get into this one as much. I really liked Kingston and Queenie. I liked them as characters and I really liked them together. I found the plot and the conflicts to be repetitive and similar throughout the novel and found it took me out of the story and made it difficult for me to engage with it.
I am a fan of Huntings writing and will definitely pick up her books in the future, unfortunately this one just wasn’t for me.

Such a fun read, just like all of Helena's books. I loved King and Queenie and I cannot wait for everyone to meet them. It's a forbidden romance, meets workplace romance, meets steamy hockey romance!
Helena is a mastermind of the hockey romance trope and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next.

Ryan Kingston - what a truly wonderful, sweet guy he is. Until, apparently, you get him in he bedroom, then he’s anything but. He’s also the goalie for the Seattle ice hockey team, which means he’s tall, and ripped, two of my favourite traits. One thing’s for sure, he’s definitely met his match in Queenie (yep, you’ve got it, King and Queen - cute), you couldn’t get two more opposite people, but opposites definitely do attract, chaos and mayhem seem to mould together quite well with neat and organised . Addictive, sweet and sexy, and of course there are Helena Hunting’s trademark funny moments. Wonderful writing and an addictive storyline with all the feels. A must for all Pucked fans, and there are a few cameos from that series, so great to check in with the Waters family. All books in this series can be read as stand-alones. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

“There’s no place I’d rather be than the eye of your storm.” King is just the sweetest!

I absolutely love King and Queenie! They are so amazing together! I love love love the banter between Bishop and Rook and the bromance between Bishop and King. King really is the best boyfriend ever!

King and Queenie were a whirlwind and such a fun couple to read. Their story is full of entertaining drama. I love how steadfast King was and how he stuck by Queenie through every up and down. There opposite personalities worked perfectly together and they balanced each other out so well. The epilogue was so swoony! I’m really loving this whole series and I hope we get Jake’s story soon!

I loved Ryan and Queenie’s story. They were an extreme opposites attract couple. I loved the dynamic between them. It was so much fun to read. He was so straight-laced and proper, and she was so wild and chaotic. Their meet-cute was definitely atypical for him, which made it so amazing. Queenie did tend to have drama following her around, and she had horrible self esteem. I wanted to smack her mother for being the reason for that. King actually had some family drama of his own, and they were absolutely crazy. I laughed so much while reading this book, but there was also a lot of emotional growth going on too. I really loved it all. This series is wonderful. I hope there will be more.

On a day that your world has literally been blown to pieces, when you feel like your very foundation is crumbling, do you think you can meet the love of your life.
Ryan Kingston (king) is not an impulsive guy. He is organized and meticulous. He is a rule follower. Too many acholic drinks and an impulsive decisions and King is breaking all the rules. King is the starting Goalie for the Seattle’s NHL Team and after a day of coming to term that the women he thought was his sister was actually his mother, he makes the choice to go to a bar and get drunk. At the bar he meets the most beautiful cyclone he has ever seen, Queenie Masterson. After a night filled with drinks and some suggestive memories King wakes up to a post it notes thanking him for a fun night.
Queenie Masterson has felt like failure her whole adult life. She just doesn’t feel like there is much she can do right or that she is capable of. She has failed at so much. So, at age 24 moving back in with her father and working as his assistant is just another reminder oh her faults. Queenie’s dad is the General Manager of Seattle’s NHL Team. Queen has never felt like she was good enough for love, success, or friendship. She is haunted by her past mistakes.
I love Queenie’s spirit. She has an energy of acceptance and vivaciousness that makes her completely lovable. Her self-doubt is part of what makes her approachable and accepting of others. Queenie is super relatable. We have all have choices we made in the past that have made it hard for us to realize our own value. Queenie with King is absolute Checkmate! They complement each other. He is such a steady force with an underlying passion. He is the shot of confidence that Queenie needs to let herself try. Ryan Kingston is rule follower, but Queenie is that wind that helps him push over the line. She helps him loosen up and realize he can have passion and heart.
Helena Hunting does it again! She has this magical way of creating these multidimensional characters. Because of these characters you get these fantastic stories that have so much heart and passion, plus a few laugh out loud moments. I am still laughing about the strawberry incident. I really thought Bishop and Stevie, were going to be my favorites in this serious but I am pretty sure Queenie and King stole my heart. I love how Hunting weaves some of her characters from her other series flawlessly into these stories with out it being a distraction. Miss Lavender Waters might have stolen the show a bit.
This was a 5/5 star read for me. Hunting keeps me coming back for more always! I can’t not wait to see what is next for her. This might be my all time favorite of her Hockey Romances. The story has a couple of twist and turns plus a couple of crazy mothers.

This was such a great series and the addition of this book made it that much better. I had hoped after reading Bishop's book that we would get to see what made King tick. King did not disappoint and I felt that they pairing of him and Queenie proved that opposites attract. At times, Kingston was a little too good to be true in his boy scout ways but he was perfect for the cyclone known as Queenie. The pair brought together by a secret kept from Kingston by his family and a one night stand the pair come back together by complete chance and attraction enter a relationship that has chemistry that is off the charts. Secrets from Queenie's past make an appearance and throw the pair a few curve balls, but they weather the storm and are better and a stronger couple in the end.
I loved this book and this series. I enjoyed the return of the characters from the previous books in the series as well as the return of Alex and Violet Waters from the Pucked series. I hope this is not the last time that we see these characters because they were so well written and a joy to read. When I started this book, I was sorry that real life got in my way of being able to just sit and read it from start to finish in one sitting since I was so hooked on the story. In the end, this was such a great read that I definitely recommend this book as well as the other in this series to others.

Added bonus, a hockey story when there is NO SPORTS to watch!! Helped me in my rut!

The amount of time it took me to read this book has nothing to do with how good it was at all. I've just been in a weird reading place since November of 2019. Every time I picked up A Secret for a Secret, I enjoyed what I read but then I'd put it down and it'd take so long for me to pick it back up. Reading is hard especially right now but I loved this book!

I've been waiting to read A Secret for a Secret since I finished A Favor for a Favor back in November! I was not disappointed and I am so glad that I got the chance to read this book early. I loved King and Queenie so dang much! From the beginning, I was laughing and swooning over their antics. It was fun to learn about King and why he drank so much milk and was so straight-laced compared to his teammates. He was such a good guy that it made it that much hotter to see him let loose in the bedroom. Queenie's story was heartbreaking and I felt for her so much. No one should have to be torn down by someone who should have had her back. But she had an amazing father who she'd been made to feel as if she shouldn't rely on by people in her life. The two of them together was electric. They had so much chemistry it threatened to melt my kindle. I loved how their differences are what made their relationship so strong. They each had what the other needed. I liked that they weathered through any storm and craziness that was thrown their way and came out of it even stronger. The pacing was amazing and the fact that once Queenie and King were together, they made it work, made this story that much better. I also liked that it wasn't about them keeping the relationship from Queenie's dad. But how he found out was hilarious. This book was so dang funny and amazing.

I was able to relate to King and Queenie so profoundly that everything that they went through, I felt in my soul. I am just like King with following rules and needing to have everything in order. I like the organization. Queenie and I shared the problem of having someone in your life that tore you down if you weren't doing what they wanted you to do or if they were jealous. I've never related to two characters so profoundly and that made me love this book even more.

It was fun seeing the others. I loved seeing Rook, Lainey, Kody as well as Bishop and Stevie. Bishop was still just as funny in this one as he was in his book and the way he needled Rook was hilarious. But what I enjoyed even more in A Secret for a Secret was how we got to see more of Violet and meet her two little ones. Lavender will win you over from the moment you meet her and the devotion River showed to his sister was so sweet. I loved meeting them and I can't wait to see more about them in the future.

A Secret for a Secret was well worth the wait and I am ready for the next spin-off. I'm sad this series is over but it was such a fun one! I'm excited for everything Helena has coming for us this year.

A Secret for a Secret is the third book in the All In contemporary sports romance series.

This is a series of interconnected standalones. This is the third book in a hockey series of sexy adult contemporary romances. I would normally read a series like this in order. But in this case this is my first book in the series. Each book has different narrators.

It was pretty obvious who the other books in the series were about (two other players on the same team as the male narrator). And this book potentially spoils some of what must have happened in those books. But i did not have trouble following the story at all. And I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not having read the previous books. One of the couples from the previous books was barely in this book. While the other couple was in it a bit more as supporting characters.

The narrators of this book are Queenie and Kingston (1st person POVs). The story takes place in Seattle.

The title of this book is excellent. Because each of them has a secret.

She's 24. He's 30. She was raised by a single dad. He is an NHL hockey player and has a crazy family.

I did enjoy this book. However the hockey aspect of the book could have been a bit better IMO. It wasn't that the author wrote anything inaccurate. But since she lives in Canada and most likely knows something about hockey I just wish that there was more hockey included in this story. There were a lot of practices and away games. But I would have liked a bit more.

A Secret for a Secret was a quick read. And it was very easy to follow as a standalone.

For the most part i really liked this book. This book is super sexy. Was it overly unpredictable? No, but it was an interesting and enjoyable read.

One of my favorite in this hockey series ever! Kingston is so straight laced that I wondered if anything ruffle his feathers. Queenie always seems to attract trouble and bam!!!! There is no one better to match her up with than King. I adored the way he was the rational, logical trustworthy dude to her messy, artsy, sort of chaotic gal. It was fun, humorous to see Queenie get King to loosen up...especially under the covers. So steamy but also a lot of healing for both characters. So entertaining and full of our favorite people who are there to help their hockey family navigate all of the pitfalls of fame. Highly recommend!

A Secret for a Secret is the genre breaking sports romance you need to read. Hunting has created an unforgettable romance by giving readers the sweetest male love interest possible.

Ryan, or King, is as opposite as it gets from the stereotypical alpha male love interest found in most sports romances. Instead, he’s sweet, sensitive, respectful, and put together. He wears sensible clothes, never drives over the speed limit, and drinks milk with every meal for a well-balanced diet. King thrives on order, so when Queenie shows up like a tornado tearing through his perfectly ordered life, King finds out a little chaos isn’t all that bad.

Queenie doesn’t have her life together. A childhood growing up with a father barely old enough to take care of himself and a mother who only stuck around long enough to tear her down, Queenie finds she has no direction in life.

King and Queenie’s meet cute is perfect. It’s fun and steamy with the right amount of misunderstanding  that leads to more fun and steamy moments.

Despite the uncomplicated life King likes to lead, there is a fair amount of drama in A Secret for a Secret. Fortunately, communication is the name of the game and the characters are not adverse to the concept. Drama is quickly cleared as the characters talk through the tough conversations paying the way for a happily every after.

Overall, A Secret for a Secret is my favorite book of the All In series. It’s a breath of fresh air in a genre that’s known for its overuse of a alpha male love interest, especially in the sports romance subgenre. King will keep you swooning from beginning to end and rethinking your stance on nice guys.

Helena Hunting is a writing genius because this series only gets better and better!!

Ryan Kingston is sweet, a total gentleman, and so respectful to everyone, but underneath all that buttoned up, milk-drinking handsome man is a dirty, insatiable guy. King is truly the perfect fictional boyfriend and I swooned HARD!

Queenie is the kind of beautiful chaos we all feel like at times. She is currently working for her father because she hasn't decided what she wants to do with her life. Lots of bad decisions, mistakes, and indecisions have led her back to living with her dad which is also how she ends up back in the sights of King, a man she didn't think she'd see again after their amazing one night stand.

King is steady, loyal, and a huge rule follower. When he finds out that his sister is actually his mother, you could say that his world is a little shook. For a man who never drinks, he heads to a bar, meets Queenie and well...the one night stand takes off from there. Something he has never done. Weeks later she appears as the managers new assistant who also happens to be his daughter. King, the rule follower, feels even worse, but it doesn't dampen the feelings he has for Queenie.

As much as they try to follow the no-fraternization policy, it is nearly impossible. Their connection crackles whenever they are near and King finds himself drawn to the chaos as much as Queenie is drawn to his calm. I think that is what I love about this entire series, Helena is so good with each couple supporting and loving their faults, knowing that no one is perfect, but that together they complete each other.

Also for Helena fans, you will love the follow ups with past characters and I could totally see a second generation with all of the children these virile men keep helping with.
