Ryan Kingston is the kind of book boyfriend I did not know I need. While my usual type are billionaires, Navy SEALs, alpha-hunks, Helena Hunting delivers a hero type that is exactly what we should all be looking for -- a genuine nice guy.

This was my 1st in the series and, while I did feel as if there were things I missed out on by not reading the 1st 2 books, I still enjoyed the chemistry and characters.

I love Helena Hunting's books and I adore the All In series. A Secret for a Secret is the 3rd book in this series and I definitely recommend it. King and Queenie could not be more different, but somehow they just work. I loved reading how the two of them discovered new and different parts of themselves while with the other person. I loved this book and can't wait for the next in the series!

This was so stinking cute, y’all! Like goofy smile on my face the entire time reading sort of cute.

Ryan Kingston is definitely a change of pace from your typical professional hockey player. The man is a freaking boy scout. He doesn’t swear. He doesn’t drink. He doesn’t disappoint his parents. And he doesn’t do one-night stands. He’s a guy that was a perfect kid growing up and then got the shocker of a century from his parents and finds himself reeling at a bar about it. One drink and a chance encounter with a beautiful woman leads to another drink and a different encounter entirely. But then he finds out that his beautiful one-night stand is the GM’s daughter and new assistant. Ruh roh.

Queenie is a free spirit. She’s never quite found herself and sees herself as a disappointment for her devoted father. She can’t find a job that sticks and always seems to mess up. So when her father tells her that the hockey players are off limits, she’s determined to do things right. But it’s tough to keep it friendly when your chemistry is through the roof and Ryan is determined to do things right with her and date her.

Now don’t pay my rating any mind, because this is based entirely on personal preference here. While I loved the opposites attract thing, Queenie and Ryan weren’t my usual cuppa when it comes to characters. Ryan was just a bit too sweet for my reading tastes. Stop judging me! I do love that he still had full alpha vibes even with all that sweetness. Queenie was a touch too brash for my particular tastes too. Though I did love her fire and spark. Ultimately, I loved the story and the characters, even if it wasn’t my typical preference. I simply adore all things Helena Hunting and this series just does it for me. It’s tough to follow the perfection that was book two for me, but this one still definitely hit the spot.

This series is a fav of mine, and I think this story of Kingston and Queenie is my fav in the all in series! Love this opposites attract story of a hockey player and the general managers daughter. The angst is perfect, and their attraction and chemistry is fire! Hunting outdoes herself in this one!

Boy Scout by day, Dirty Puck by night - that’s Ryan Kingston. Who would have thought that the clean cut, polo shirt and khaki pants wearing goaltender had a naughty side to him? I certainly didn’t and man oh man what a pleasant surprise it was. King can talk dirty to me anytime he wants! The rule following, straight laced hockey player gets thrown for a loop when his first and only one night stand ends up being the boss’s daughter.
Queenie is a beautiful mess, she’s at a crossroads in her life, unsure of where she should be or what she should be doing. Moving into her dad’s guesthouse and getting hired as his personal assistant seems like two steps forward and three steps back once she discovers that the man who she shared an incredible night with is one of his players.
Watching good boy King fall hard and fast for (not really) bad girl Queenie makes this an absolutely fantastic addition to Helena’s All In Series and makes me want more, starting with daddy Jake’s story! Please Helena, tell me there will be a book dedicated to this silver fox single daddy?! TBR A Secret For A Secret and enjoy!

Once again I was hooked from the moment I picked up one of these books in this new series by one of my favorite authors. And King, well let’s say he might be the guy for me, because his favorite tv show is my favorite, The Big Bang Theory! King was such a good guy. He was totally the goodie two shoes you’d expect for the most part. But such a real man back behind closed doors. Perfect for Queenie. She needed someone like him. It was so frustrating for all the people she’d had in her past that made her life a hell, and made her doubt herself so much.

And while King had a kind of screwed up family as well, at least it hadn’t been quite what Queenie had. He had a great momster as well. You’ll have to read to understand that. But there was also Queenie’s ex, a really big jerk of a hockey player, that ended up kind of getting what he deserved.

As usual I loved how the author brought in so many characters we’d loved from her past books. Not only the other two in this series, A Lie for a Lie and A Favor for a Favor, but also my favorite couple of all time, Alex and Violet. And I loved their kids. Little Lavender was so so sweet! I really do hope we get a series of books based around the kids of our beloved Pucked series’ characters.

Ryan Kingston is definitely the man every mom wants their daughter to bring home for the family to meet. King is the epitome of the boy next door, only if he is a real boy scout lol. He is a gentleman, kind, loyal, romantic and wild in the bedroom! And after one of the worst days of his life, King is trying to drink his sorrows away when he meets the beautiful Queenie. Turns out she's having a pretty crappy day too. King & Queenie go shot for shot and end up spilling their secrets and spend a passionate night together at King's house. Queenie leaves the next day with a sweet note but no phone number and they both acknowledge that it is what it is, a one night wonderful night.

Well that is until they run into each other again about a month later when Ryan is introduced to Queenie officially by her dad, Ryan's boss, the boss who is also the GM of the hockey team Ryan is the goalie for. And the fun, laughter, banter, unbelievable one liners go on and on. Although there are some serious themes and I did shed a few tears, overall, there is so much to love about this book. Of course any book with Alex and Violet is a great one but this one has all their kids and it's magic. Bishop is the best wingman, lol. You will definitely want this to be your next 1 click!!!

Ryan Kingston (aka King) and Queenie Masterson are opposites that is a perfect match for each other. Ryan is the good guy who hardly drinks, has manners and is a gentleman on the outside and hot, sexy hunk in the bedroom. Queenie on the other hand acts before she thinks most of the time. Her father has always been there for her and bails her out of the sticky situation that she gets into sometimes.

When Ryan and Queenie meets at a bar, they are both going through things in their life that are hard for them to deal with and Ryan is thinking about getting drunk. With the help of Queenie, the 2 drinks their misery away and end up at Ryan's house. Queenie disappears in the morning and Ryan realizes that he never got her contact information so it was a shock to both of them when they meet again during the hockey team's practice. Ryan is a hockey player on the NHL team and Queenie happens to be the daughter of the general manager!

It's fun to watch how Ryan and Queenie interact with each other and how Ryan finally asks Queenie's father to let him date his daughter. As they walk this new path together, things from their past and their family gets in the way. They realize that if they truly love each other, then they can get through anything. And there are a lot of crazy things that come back from their pasts and from their families.

Oh my gosh this series has just gotten better and better as it has gone on! I freaking adore both Kingston and Queenie! King is the most unique hockey player I have ever read and I was so excited about that. He is a true gentleman in all ways and he treats queenie just like her namesake. Queenie is quirky and adorable. She has some struggles to work through and I love that King empowers her through it all. He doesn't do any of it for her, he builds her up and she does it herself. I am obsessed with them and I loved every single page!!

My new favourite book in this series!
I really enjoyed this book. I especially loved the main characters and how they actually talked with each other through their issues. The lack of unnecessary drama was also very refreshing.
Overall a fun and romantic book that I can only recommend.

King & Queenie are hilarious & soo loveable!
Author Helena Hunting takes milkshakes to a new level.
This book can be read as a standalone but believe me you want to read them all.
These hockey hunks and the ladies they meet are all soo much fun to read.
King is one hot to the rules Hockey Goalie who love his milk and routines but when he meets Queenie, she makes him question if breaking the rules is worth it...
And it soo is!
Sexy, funny, full of emotions, angsty and I loved seeing some of my favorite characters from this series as well as the Pucked series make their appearances.
Queenie is amazing.
She is kind and all over the place when it comes to her love life but meeting King has her feeling things she never thought she could feel before.
Such an awesome hockey romance to keep you tingly with excitement all over.

I have been waiting for this book since A Lie for a Lie came out last fall. I needed Kingston's story! His character has been so refreshing. Many of the Hero's I've been ready could easily be labeled as bad boys or womanizers. Ryan Kingston was a Boy Scout, literally. With his regulated schedule, 2% milk, good guy attitude, and 100% lovable. Queenie absolutely balances him out, and helps him to let loose.

I love how Helena Hunting built this series around a chess board. Rook, Bishop, and now King(ston) and Queen(ie).

Rook and Lainey have been my favorite couple in this series, but King and Queenie are a close second.

The chemistry between King and Queenie just floated off the pages. Queenie, is in fact, the queen of bad decisions, "And just so we're clear, you were actually one of the best bad decisions I've ever had the misfortune of making." They both have their own drama/demons to overcome, and even though there's a lot of emotion in this book, there's a lot less angst than what you would expect. King and Queenie act with compassion and communicate, which shows a level of adult-ness we don't see a lot in romance books. I loved it!

"I want all your pieces, all the things that make you who you are. I don't care if you think you're bent or broken; let me love all of you."

Long live King and Queenie!!
I'm totally hooked on this series and A Secret for a Secret did not disappoint
Ryan King is McDreamy, Prince Charming, McSteamy... he is everything we all dream about!
I never thought that I will fall for a guy wearing khakis and polos... and drinking milk LOL
Trust me when I say that you will fall for him in a heartbeat!

Queenie is at a critical point in her life- she is lost and does not know what the future holds for her. She is back living with her dad and working by his side.

There is a wonderful flow to this story, you always feel the connection building between King and Queenie and it comes across as a natural progression of their feelings for each other.
The story was so fun to read, the angst it didn't detract from the story but actually made it more real. The twists and turns and swirling emotions in the book suck you in and don't let you go. I loved both main characters, they really worked as a couple and were individually strong too. To be reunited with the gang put a big smile on my face!

King's pov is one of the best male POV's I've read, wouldn't we all want a man to be so honest and strong in knowing his own mind.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

I was so excited to read King's book and it did not disappoint. This story was so fantastic, it had such a sweet and sensitive guy in King and his complete opposite in Queenie. The share a moment in the beginning of the book and then go their separate ways thinking they will not likely see each other again but fate has other plans for them. They meet again but the circumstances are not ideal and makes a relationship between them off-limits.

This book is romantic and has Helena's signature humor that literally makes me laugh out loud. I loved every moment of this story and was so glad to see another appearance from my favorite Pucked character, Violet. The whole series was amazing!

I honestly didn’t think any hockey player could get any better than Bishop but let me tell you King takes the cake. I still love Bishop and I especially loved getting to see more of his and King’s bromance, but Kingston was pure perfection. He is a khaki, polo wearing, polite, prom and proper man but get him in the sheets and he is wild, out of control, and sexy. Queenie makes me laugh and I feel so sad for her because she feels like she is a disappointment to her father and her life is chaos and it is but she works hard, loves even harder, and is brilliant. She is the perfect storm for King’s calm. These two are total opposites but they bring the best out in each other and after enduring some drama will they make it or cut their losses and walk away? I loved the banter, wit, family vibes this book had and Violet didn’t annoy me in this book I actually found her enduring. This author knows how to write such cute, steamy reads that make you smile and feel like you are part of the character’s world.

I know that when I pick up a Helena Hunting romance, I'm going to fall for her characters. King and Queenie don't disappoint. I loved this hockey romance! A Secret for a Secret is a sweet and fun opposites attract romance. I couldn't wait to see who was going to hook up with the good guy Ryan Kingston. I thought King and Queenie were the perfect match. They definitely brought out the best in each other and became even better together.

Helena Hunting gets a hat trick with book three in the All In Series, A Secret for a Secret. In this story, Seattle NHL goalie Ryan Kingston is shocked to discover that his one-nightstand, Queenie Masterson, is his general manager’s new assistant. Not only is she his assistant, she is his daughter. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.

A Secret for a Secret was a fun story. I enjoyed the characters. King and Queenie are opposites that complete each other. Both are endearing. King is the starting goalie for the Seattle. He is a former boy scout. He always dresses conservatively. He is neat. He embarrasses easily. Queenie is artistic, messy, and spontaneous. There are things about both that I could easily relate to.

They faced some interesting challenges. I enjoyed how their past play an integral part of the story. I think it is clever how Helena Hunting uses chess names in this series. I also enjoyed how people reacted to King’s and Queenie’s names. Fans of Helena Hunting will love this story. I recommend A Secret for a Secret to people who enjoy hockey romances. It could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the series. It also has cross over with the Pucked series, which I as well commend. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
