Wow, what an absolutely brilliant read. I just finished Ruby by Ms Burnside, and was so happy to get my teeth into another thrilling read by a very talented author. The book reads nicely as a standalone, but I would suggest that you read them in order, just to give you some context regarding some events mentioned. This was a thrilling, gripping read from the beginning until the very last word. Highly recommended.
Fantastic really enjoyed catching up with crystal and ruby in the next chapter I love how crystal is portrayed as a mother stuck as a working girl and the desperation to change her life for her daughter
What a fantastic read . It was great to get to no one of the characters from the other books . Would highly recommend this book and author to everyone .
I believe this is the third book in the working girls series by this author and I think the best. The story follows Crystal, a prostitute who is addicted to drugs and drink. After her pimp and lover dies life spirals downwards until an opportunity to come off the game and get clean enabling her to provide a better life for herself and her daughter presents itself. However, it does not come without danger and opening up a massive can of worms.
Many thanks to the publishers and netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
I was looking forward to Crystal after reading Ruby by Heather Burnside. Following on the line of working girl turned good it only took me 2 days to finish.
The storyline was good with plenty of content but I felt as if I was wanting a bit more. It was maybe not quite as graphic as some books in the genre so a bit more of a lighthearted read but enjoyable all the same.
I am sure there will be another in the series.
Wow third book all about Crystal brillaint book. It's so intense wondering how people can get them back out of the life of drugs prostitution drink so sad. Keep them coming cant wait for another one
I have to say I have thouroghly enjoyed this series so far. Crystal is a brilliant addition to the Working Girls Series.
At what part in your life do you realise that prostitution, drugs, pimps are all not good for you. Working girl Crystal has seen the death of her pimp, the father of her child and realises maybe now is the time to turn things around.
Her daughter is getting to the age that she wants to know what mum does at work, where she works, but Crystal is to ashamed to tell her and continues the lie of being a bar worker.
Crystal has a great plan for making some money to help see her through, is she thinking right, or is she going to end up in even more trouble.
A book following the life changes of one of the girls, a great read that really had me grating my teeth together. A real page turner, hooked from the very first page until the very end.
Well done to this author this series has been brilliant.
This is the third book in the Working Girls series - Crystal's story.
Following the death of her pimp Gilly, drink and drugs are taking hold of Crystal. She realises that in order to protect her daughter Candice from finding out about her lifestyle she has no choice but to make some major changes. Crystal enters rehab, gets herself clean and begins a plan to rob, blackmail and expose her most depraved clients in order to get as much money as possible to make some life changes for herself and her daughter. However if Crystal wants revenge then she must accept the risks that go with it!
This is an addictive, fast paced thriller with some great characters - it will keep you on the edge of your seat. I was hooked from the very beginning.
I am really enjoying this series of books. The stories would make a great tv series!
Thanks to Netgalley, Aria and the author for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is Crystal's story set in Manchester, she's carrying an almighty secret after her pimp and partner Gilly's death, and her best mate Ruby is concerned for her, at the wake she breaks down, drink and drugs have taking a hold on her, and she has to change for the sake of her daughter Candice, she getting older, and Crystal cannot hide her lifestyle for much longer. Checking into rehab doing a two week course, she comes out with plans for revenge on her clients, building up a sash of money to start her own business, she can do this. Oh what can I say, revenge is,sweet, this girl knows what it takes to get what she wants, it's a gripping, compulsive and addictive read, that you will enjoy. So fast pace moments ahead, I was well and truly hooked. I love the working girl's series, they are all unique with their own story. Brilliant.
Crystal by Heather Burnside.
A very enjoyable read with some good characters. I liked the story. Hope to read more from this author. 4*.
I've been waiting patiently for this book, the third novel in the working girls trilogy. I loved the Mark & ruby but I think Crystal was by far the best, read in one sitting, it didn't disappoint
Wow. Didn't take long to get through this book. And wow I'm so glad I loved it. The writer has an amazing sense of the genre.
