The book is a deep dive into the practical things you need to do to have a career in the future. Good guidance but not ground-breaking.
This was an in-depth self-help book on how to prepare internally for working within your field or finding your place within a better suited/preferred career. My husband once took a Master's course in higher education in which he learned that people change careers about 7 to 8 times in their lifetimes. As we age, we're seeking something more for ourselves. And this book teaches that it has to be more than just about money. The content ranged from emotions to personality to mindfulness. While I've settled in my decision to be a writer, this book helped me clarify what success means to me. I was placing my efforts on being liked rather than how writing makes me feel and how I can explore my goals and feelings through my work. I may re-read certain chapters to ensure that I understand the suggestions.
Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
It was an interesting read, reading about work in a historical sense, and also the future of work and workplace, career and one's path. Nothing major, new information was given for me, but it was a quick read.
