In general, I enjoyed the book and even added a few destinations to my UK bucket list. That said, with no table of contents or index, it is a bit too scattered to work as a good guidebook , but remains a nice travelogue. The author does a really nice job of describing locations and attractions with lovely color photography.
Good book but already reviewed previously! I Thought this was a different book by a good author so requested it by mistake.
There was some great historic information in this book that I enjoyed learning. I would have like to have more meat (info) regarding the images as there was not provided.
***I read "The North-East of England" book in this series, which is what downloads when this item is selected. The "Nine Greek Islands" is nowhere to be found.
The England book has some interesting historical information about a part of England that's new to me. I would not recommend this as a complete travel guide, as it focuses solely on a select number of historical sites. It would be more suited for a travel section in a library, where one could use the information to supplement that of more comprehensive guides. Also, it might be useful to include descriptions with each photograph so the reader can be sure of what's being shown.
