Yet again, the Daily Telegraph have written another detailed guide to help you when it comes to your Tax return. This is informative, accessible and very detailed.

My head is spinning after reading this Tax Guide, but it certainly provides a lot of detail! Get your calculator out as you might need it. It certainly helped me understand the tax code my husband has, how tax is calculated on his wage slips and how the Working Tax & Child Tax Credits are calculated for us and all the elements involved.

The book is divided into many aspects of tax which include gift aid, tax-deductible expenses, VAT, Self-employment, National Insurance, Pensions both state and private, Savings and Investment income, Capital Gains, Inheritance Tax and how to fill out your tax return.

It certainly very good at showing you with examples how the tax is calculated in each of the chapters. Also provided is a table of all the flat-rate allowances for clothes and upkeep of tools, Rates of NI Contribution and Benefits.

It provides details on mileage allowances, car allowances depending on the CO2 levels, Interest Payments for things such as buy-to-let homes.

I'd certainly refer to this if I was self-employed as it is a really good comprehensive book.

I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.
