REVIEW
LITTLE WHISPERS weaves a entertaining tale of suspense and secrets.. What’s the big secret that changes Janey’s life and why in the world did she share it with Tayna? And how does one find a job like issac’s? The story is told at a brisk pace and as it builds to a conclusion it practically trips over itself.
The day that Janey’s sees Angel, the men and the car is like the day that never ends, So much is jammed into that one day it’s hard to keep up. Janey is like a spinning top. I love a fast pace, but this almost satirical there is so much going on.
The story is interesting and the writing is practiced. My favorite part of LITTLE WHISPERS was Janey’s character. Her feelings and emotions were well developed on the page.

I am a big fan of KL Slater's mysteries, because the characters are always intriguing and they feel written in a way that feels "real". I won't give away any plot details, but there were plenty of twists and turns and clever plotting. Recommended!
I really enjoyed this book and it kept me guessing the entire time. New beginnings for Janey and her husband lead her to a rich neighborhood with even richer friends with secrets. But Janey has a secret of her own. It was great watching these friendships blossom and find out who's secrets are the most damning. I highly recommend the book and look forward to reading more of K.L. Slater's novels.
I enjoyed this book. There were twists and turns and I didn't know what the ending would be. There were two story lines, and I was very surprised at the end to see how it all came together. It was a fast-paced quick thriller read, and I would recommend it. I received a free ebook from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest feedback.
I loved this book. This is one of my favorites by this author. It is a well writtens story that the author’s attention to detail made the story come to life. I had no problem connecting to the characters. The twists and turns had me turning pages fast just waiting to find out what would happen next. Janey and her family have moved to a new town with a new start or so she thinks. What she finds may not be what she expected from her new neighbors. Is anyone who they say they are? This is a really great story that I couldn’t put down and was pulled in right from the beginning. I highly recommend this book and this author.
What a story this is!
Kim Slaters 11th psychological thriller is the biz it really is, I try not to use the word ‘twists’ so wont so lets say ‘unexpectededness’ thats coming at ya from every chapter....
Janey ambles along, just about, her marriage and house and life could be better but now she has the horror of knowing a secret, a secret her Mum told her on her deathbed...I read lots of secrets in books but this is one no one would want to find out, Janey is now struggling
But then her hubby gets offered a new job, a career lets say, double wages, with a move to a new area and they find a house almost immediately, perfection...and off they go to Buckingham Crescent
By this point the book had me, I LOVE a ‘move of house’ as a subject of/ in a book, the new neighbours, the gossip, the vile school gate Mum’s and the newbie trying to fit in and then making friends and little by little things not seeming quite right and it all being less than perfect
But for Janey its just starting, things are about to go terribly wrong and then just when it cant get worse, it does as her secret becomes general knowledge and well, chaos erupts
The horrible, awful secret is dealt with in small chapters that explain and allude to the horror of the secret and its menacing and dark and chilling
Everything comes together in a series of raw surprises to Janey and also to us the reader and its pure psychological thriller, done really really well
Superbly written with a cast you dream of and here you have what we all love, a book you truly cant put down
10/10

Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture, and K.L. Slater for the opportunity to read and review her latest thriller - always a twisty good read. Just how much should you whisper your deep, dark secrets to your friends?
Janey, her husband, Isaac, and their young son, Roman, have the opportunity to escape their bills, their small house, their past and start fresh in a new wealthy community, Buckingham Crescent, thanks to Isaac's new job. He promises Janey that he will be a better husband and father by being around more and being more present. But it isn't long before he's back to working all the time. Meanwhile, Janey struggles to fit in with the wealthy school moms, always looking perfect in their designer clothes first thing in the morning. Then Tanya, the ring leader of the top mom clique, takes Janey under her control and suddenly Janey is having wine in Tanya's hot tub in the middle of the day and lets her deep, dark secret about her past slip from her lips. But when Janey tries to tell Tanya something disturbing about her daughter, Angel, Tanya threatens to let that secret out.
This was a fast-paced thriller with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. K.L. Slater has done it again!
New, New, New!!!! All things new. Reminds me of Big Little Lies (the series). Secrets that were kept by her recently deceased mother, husbands new job, new town, new home..... etc. Now hubby is working extra long hours and Janey meets some of the new neighbors. A great psychological thriller. I will be picking up another KL Slater titles. Thank you NetGalley for the introduction.
Little Whispers by K L Slater is a psychological thriller with a very slow start. Almost three-fourth of the book is just setting up the plot, while the last quarter swiftly delivers answers to all the questions that had popped up. The plot is a family drama involving secrets and lies thus resulting in unwanted consequences.
It is a light read, and the story is entertaining. The suspense was spot on - there was no way I could have guessed it. It wasn't far fetched either.
I will be definitely be picking more books by this author.
Thanks to the author and the publisher for the ARC.
Verdict: A solid read.
Our main character Janey is married to Isaac and has an 8 year old son called Rowan, She has just lost her mum who revealed on her deathbed a secret that devastated Janey but as the months go by Isaac gets a new job and they move into a bigger house on a crescent that she could only dream of. But of course, this is a thriller and things aren’t all they seem!
Oh, this was so good, I am still trying to process this book in my mind and I finished it days ago! There were small chapters that I was confused over but they all become clear later on in the book.
It was fantastic and full of surprises, twists and turns I was not expecting at all.
I love K. L. Slater’s books and I was excited to read Little Whispers and it did not fail in its expectations, grabbing me early on and keeping me on the edge of my seat, it was utterly brilliant.
Thank you to @klslaterauthor, @bookouture and @netgalley for my ARC! I really enjoy K.L.Slater’s book - I’ve lost count of how many I’ve read! They’re always super easy to read with good twists, and this one was no exception. This had quite a dark subplot actually, which I think could have been taken that little bit further ... but I think I’ve just become too used to dark thrillers! A fab read.
Another fantastic read from K.LSlater!
I won't lie - it took me a few chapters to get into this, but once Janet had moved into her new home, I literally could not put the book down.
I changed my mind so many times as to what was going on, and I never guessed Janey's family secret at all - didn't even come close.
Great book and I will be looking out for this Authors books from now on.
This novel is a thriller that explores female relationships and cliques.
Janey is ready for a fresh start after the death of her mother and the bombshell secret she told Janey just before passing away. When her husband gets a new job that will mean more pay, a bigger house and better schools, it seems like a dream come true. That is until Janey runs into the other neighborhood moms on her son's first day of school. The women are all glamorous and beautiful, and Janey immediately feels like she won't belong. She quickly gets accepted into the mom group, however, and learns that not everything is the way it appears on the outside. As Janey's husband spends more and more time at work, she leans on her new friends and eventually spills her dirty secret. This exciting novel shows that not everyone is who they appear to be and you have to be very careful with whom you share your life with.

Once again KL Slater as knocked up another cracker of a book. I was hooked on the first few chapters. When Issac gets a new job and He Shows Janey a new house that she thought could only be a dream. After her mother left her with a devastating secret before she died Issac told janey how it would be a new start and they could spend more time together. When they moved into Buckingham drive the house and are was just everything. On the day they moved Issac got a call from his new boss asking him to go in early the following morning and he didn’t get home until 8pm she hsd negative thoughts straight away that it was going to be no different from his other job. He told her it idyllic happen often being a new company it was only until they set up, Jamey after a and start soon became one off the nBucjinghap drive mum. Janet not really having many friend the ones she did have soon lost touch when she stopped work to look after her mum before make her welcome . Then suddenly things start going wrong when she’s see her friends daughter hanging around with some undsaviorey men. Really enjoyable however o felt the ending was rushed and not particularly good. It just didn’t carry the strength of the rest of the book
Little Whispers by K.L. Slater is a gripping psychological suspense about the secrets we keep and the danger they possess. The climactic reveal and plot itself weren't as engaging as Slater's superb writing and gripping character development, but the pacing helped to create an unputdownable narrative. I was eager to discover the secrets weaved through this story, from the many new neighbors to Isaac to the mother's deathbed confession. An entertaining, easy read, I recommend this to anyone interested in reading domestic suspense doused in themes like friendship, acceptance, and letting go of the past before it claims your future.
Past secrets, a new start, stories from the new neighbours that don't add up ..... hmm, K.L. Slater's latest novel, "Little Whispers" gets off to an exciting start and there is no let up in the action from the opening page. Janey Markham is moving to the rather exclusive Buckingham Crescent, with her husband Issac and son Rowan as a result of her husbands new job. Janey is initially overjoyed at their move, especially as she recently lost her mother and received some life altering news in the process.
Janey is eager is meet the other families in the area and for her son to start at the local school. She is surprised by Issac's reluctance but this is the first indication for the reader that all is not well is the life of the Markham family and that more distyurbing elements are a play.
When reading a thriller, I like a fast-paced storyline and one which holds my attention throughout. "Little Whispers" hit both targets and thankfully, though I could guess at some elements, Slater did still manage to throw in plenty of surprises.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC in return for an honest review.
K.L. Slater does it again! Will be recommending this one to my book club. It is about a family who is ready to start over. I finished this one in a day! Very entertaining and keeps you guessing. Thank you to NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Yes- plot kept me interested and enthralled with a twist I did not see coming. Thanks NetGalley for letting me have access to an early preview of this!

I reallyy enjoyed this book. There were lots of twists and turns. I think Slater did a great job of portraying yummy mummys and the dark side of being wealthy. I was kept guessing with what was going to happen. I do think the flashbacks could have been written stronger.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an egalley in exchange for an honest review.
It appears that I am on quite the suspense thriller/domestic drama kick this weekend and I am finding that they are all extremely hard to put down. Little Whispers wasn't at all what I expected by the end of the story and that certainly makes it a memorable read.
When Janey Markham, her husband Issac, and their son Rowan move to Buckingham Cresent, things are looking up for their family. Issac promises Janey that with his new job he will be able to commit more to the family. However, things start looking very familiar and Janey is desperate to make some new friends in the neighborhood for herself and her son. When Janey meets a popular suburban mom, Tanya, she is delighted to be accepted by the "in-crowd." Unfortunately, Janey has never been good at watching what she says, and when a family secret slips out, it has the possibility of ruining the suburban dream she desires.
Yeah, so this read kept me on my toes and went in directions that made the big "reveal" to be a wee bit of a surprise. Well played K.L. Slater, well played.
