This book kept me on my toes and guessing throughout. I would give this a 4 out of 5 stars. The twist at the end was not what I was expecting.

Jo's husband goes missing. After about a year, he best friend Louise tells her she should go house sit for a vacation. Jo looks on the house sitters website and sees photos of her husband. She knows she has to get in to this house to find out what happened. Little does she know the truth she will unravel.

This was a nicely paced read. Not too quick but not too slow either. Definitely worth a quick read!

This is a good domestic suspense thriller with some twists and turns.
This book is a slow burn and it is works with the plot.
There are some good characters in the book.

This was an ok psychological thriller but not :really up to the standard of other books I have read by Samantha Hayes. I thought the story was a bit disjointed and to be honest if I'd been Jo I don't think I would have wanted Will back. Definitely not the author on her top form

Definitely a page turner, but I was disappointed at figuring out some of what was happening. I like to be kept guessing and unfortunately kind of had an idea of who was involved and what was part of the outcome. But, it was a decent read and I think many people would enjoy it.

While this book held my attention the entire way through, I was left so disappointed in the end. I wanted to get into this book and I enjoyed Jo for the most part as a character... there was just too much going on and it felt way too far-fetched. If a thriller is going to be unrealistic, it needs to own that. This just felt so all over the place and I had so many unanswered questions at the end.

An okay read for me. A couple of twists that I didn't expect, but it still read a little too slow for me. I would still be interested in reading more from Samantha Hayes.

The book was ok I didn't like the main character at all. I figured out the ending completely. I was hoping I was wrong. I would give it 4 stars

I found this one a little bit too fetched for me. Yes it’s fiction and therefore you expect a little bit of stretching of the truth but I felt this one just took things a little too far and stretches the boundaries of credibility with the plot. The main character jo was also very ditzy and struggled to drive the narrative at times but overall she did direct the story in the search for the truth eventually. I didn’t find it an addictive read but still an ok read which kept my mildly entertained throughout. Just nothing overly special.

Samantha is one of my favorite authors, and with this book she once again proved to me why. I was so entertained, and couldn't wait to see what was hidden in the spare room. It was well written, and I can't wait for the next book in this talented author's repertoire. Recommended.

Jo’s husband, Will, has gone missing and she doesn’t know what has happened to him. He just walked out of their house one day, never to return. She thinks she might want to house sit, so she begins looking at houses online when she sees her husband’s picture on the mantle of one of the houses. Why is it there and is he still alive?

Jo had thought her marriage was perfect and was deeply in love with her husband Will when one day Will simply did not come home from work. A year has passed since that day but Jo still cannot let go to the point she even hallucinates Will to be still wIth her. Jo takes her friends advice and goes on a house sitting vacation. While she is searching on the internet, she sees a photo of her husband in one of the houses. The story has you asking yourself if Jo really knew her husband at all.

This was a slow moving suspenseful read. The author dealt with a tough subject of grief and betrayal.

Samantha Hayes always surprises me! When you think you’ve figured it out...the shocking twist sneaks up behind you! This book has me rooting for Will the entire time. Sometimes though it’s hard to hate a character you love and love a character you hate. Don’t read this one thinking you will figure out how it ends! Loved!

*Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the complimentary copy for my honest review*

This book definitely caught my attention in the beginning and had me not wanting to put the book down. The main character Samantha instantly sucked me in with the mystery of her missing husband and the plot twists that started from the very beginning. Unfortunately, the ending didn't work out for me like I hoped it was. It was super frantic and kind of all over the place which ruined the story for me.

I enjoyed this book, although I did find some of the characters quite unlikeable. A brilliant ending. A recommended read.

I have previously enjoyed many of Samantha Hayes books however this one, sadly, wasn’t for me.
It started off rather slowly, gained some momentum then had a somewhat incredulous ending.

Will Carter had been missing for more than a year, and his wife Jo is still looking for answers. When pressured by her best friend to take a vacation ,she signs up for a house-sitting job and while looking at the photos of the house she sees her husband’s framed picture on the mantelpiece. Now more than ever she’s determined to get the job but the answers she gets might not be what she was looking for

Happy Couple by Samantha Hayes is a twisty psychological thriller .Overall an OK read for me as I couldn’t connect to the main character but it did have some interesting twists and turns at the end .

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.
