A heartbreakingly bittersweet storyline that hooked me from the start. Both characters have been through serious trauma and learn to cope with the world around them. I enjoyed this storyline very much and would recommend this to everyone!

Tell me why I volunteer to read books that will hurt me?

Thanks to NetGalley / Edelweiss and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for a review.

Kyle was a hard character to vibe with at first. He didn’t feel like a character with a strong voice. Maybe that was intentional since he didn’t really have a grasp of himself until later on. It was just a little hard to want to root for him in the beginning. There are a lot of twists and turns which kept me reading though. I figured something was up with Marley but I didn’t fathom it was what was written. That was an interesting twist.

All the time review - This was super cute and predictable until it wasn’t and then it went from an okay novel to a great one! It is hard being young and in love. Grieving and moving on, learning how to live a new life you never visioned. It is about how to find yourself and be honest with yourself. I like how this novel touches on all of that.

This story brings three words to mind; heartbreaking, pain and hope. If you are in the mood for a “tear your heart to pieces and pick them back up again” story, then this book is for you. Kyle and Marley are such interesting characters, who are struggling to cope with the thing we all fear; loss. I really like the cover and the title. To me, this title shows us that we have All This Time and we shouldn’t waste it, because you never know what tomorrow will bring. I flew though this book and I think any romance lover will do so too!

I enjoyed the storyline and there is a huge twist towards the end that made everything even better and. The best part about it was how unpredictable the ending was - I was shocked. It was a cute read for me. I found the book to be light and entertaining. If you are a parent and are looking for an engaging adolescent book, this is the one.

This story takes the reader through death, loss, grief, healing, recovery and yet, does it really? From the first few pages, this story forced a seemingly emotional story on the reader. It felt too much, too soon. The protagonist Kyle was going through so much and yet I had a sneaking suspicion.

Honestly, the story didn’t relent, lurching from one emotional event to another, with Kyle, Sam and Kim then Kyle and Marley. I found the plot utterly ridiculous when at 65% what I suspected was coming, was realised. How I limped to the end, I’m unsure. This felt like an immature plot and read for me and I’m gutted to be saying that so plainly. I suspect this will work on a surface level for teen readers and for that I’m glad.

So, so good, and I didn’t want this to end! Kylie and Kyle are the perfect couple, until she breaks up with him at graduation. Kyle then gets in a car accident and suffers a traumatic brain injury.. through his healing, he finds out who he really is.

All This Time is an emotional rollercoaster about losing yourself in your relationships, losing those you love, and finding yourself and the life you want to live.

Kyle dated Kimberly all through middle school and high school, but on the night of their graduation party, Kimberly decides to break up with Kyle, for real this time. She doesn't know who she is outside of the context of Kyle's girlfriend. She wants to experience more of the world and know what it's like to stand on her own.

But Kimberly doesn't get that opportunity. She and Kyle are in a car accident the night of the party. Kyle escapes with a broken femur and a head injury. Kimberly dies. Suddenly it's Kyle who has to figure out who he is outside of his familiar context. He doesn't want to, but now it's him who has to experience more of the world and know what it's like to stand alone.

Up until this point in the book, I found the story very easy to follow and believe. But after this point, things start to feel more glossy, more generalized. Characters were not as well developed and I sometimes found myself skimming. Even the relationships between Kyle and his best friend and his new friend Marley were lacking something.

But stick with it through that part because it will make so much sense.

I didn't care for the last ten pages or so of the book, because there's no moral lesson to be learned through illness or injury that can't be learned without them - so I really dislike it when an author overuses these tropes to bring about an epiphany. The final lesson learned could have been made and stated in a way that wasn't as gimmicky and that would have made it so much more profound.

Still, I'd only subtract half a star for those last few pages, so I went with an overall five star rating. This is a great book, especially for those who are rapped up in their romantic relati

When I saw that Mikki Daughtry and Rachael Lippincott had teamed up for another heartbreaking YA project, I immediately signed up to read it. Much like their masterpiece-turned-movie Five Feet Apart, All This Time also concerns a tragic teenage romance, in this case, a car accident leading to the death of the protagonist's girlfriend.

Kyle and Kimberly are the "it couple," at their high school. Yes, they know that their relationship is a stereotype with Kyle being the star quarterback and Kimberly rooting for him on the sidelines as cheer captain. But that doesn't matter because they are in love ... or at least they WERE in love, because Kimberly decides to break up with Kyle on the night of their graduation party.

You always hear about relationships ending without closure, but in the case of Kyle and Kimberly this is especially true. Sadly, they are involved in a car accident together soon after their relationship ends. Kyle wakes up with a brain injury and discovers that Kimberly did not survive the crash. As difficult as it was to imagine living his life without Kimberly by his side, Kyle now has to face the world without Kimberly existing in it.

All This Time follows Kyle as he navigates heartache and grief, recovering from the accident while also learning to live without the love of his life. But as it so often happens, just when we think we have everything all figured out, life throws us a curveball. In the case of Kyle, that curveball comes in the form of a girl named Marley, who is also battling her own demons. As Kyle and Marley's friendship grows and blossoms, he dares to believe that he could love again. Things are just so easy and perfect with Marley. Can love truly be this simple?

Grab your tissues because Daughtry and Lippincott have written another fabulous tearjerker. This novel is full of heart and emotion, and brings to life teenage characters with complexity and depth. The authors brought me back to my own high school years and made me nostalgic for that time when everything was fresh and new. Daughtry and Lippincott perfectly capture many of the feelings young teenagers in love experience, and have written a story that feels both real and relatable.

If you are thinking about passing on this book because you feel you have heard this story before, think again because the authors insert a twist that you may not see coming. No spoilers, but the twist adds another layer to this already intriguing plot. Much recommended to lovers of contemporary YA fiction!

I was pleasantly surprised by this little book. It was sweet and heartfelt. It was romantic but not sappy. I loved the twists and turns.

I’ve got to be honest and say I wasn’t sure about this book when I first started it. I didn’t really connect with Kyle much, and it felt like it would be predictable. However, something about it helped me plug away, and I ended up finishing it pretty fast! There is a plot twist that caught me by surprise, and I’m really glad it did. It wasn’t what I thought it would be, and I am so sorry I’m being so vague about it, but I don’t want to put in spoilers! The second half of the book really picked up and drew me in. I kept reading beceause I *had* to know what would happen. While I didn’t love the main character, the supporting characters really made it for me. I loved Kim. Seeing her through Kyle’s eyes was interesting, but I feel like we still see that growth and change in her person. She was brave for putting herself first, and I like the way her relationships with the other characters changed because of this. One thing that I wasn’t quite sure about was the location. The characters all talk about going to schools in California, but it also snows during the book. I will be completely honest and say I don’t know if it snows in NorCal, but I feel like a more concrete setting would be nice. Overall, this was a pretty enjoyable read!

I personally did not get into this one but. do think others might connect to this one more. Overall giving it three stars.

This is a book that you should go into without reading too much about it. If not, you may spoil too much for yourself.
It was a compelling read that I couldn't put down.

This was sadly a DNF for me. As much as I tried to get into it, nothing really motivated me to continuing past the 30% mark. The story was a little too sad and dramatic for me, and I didn't really like Kyle as a character much.

That being said, I have heard that Rachael Lippincott has a new queer book out now, so while this didn't work for me, I'll definitely still consider checking out more books from this duo!

All This Time By Mikki Daughtry and Rachael Lippincott
Publisher - Simon and Schuster
Publish Date - 29 September 2020
Rating - 3.5/5

** Thank you to Netgalley, Simon and Schuster, and of course, Mikki and Rachael, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Let’s start this off with the obvious - Five Feet Apart - WREAKED ME. When did I see I had the opportunity to read and review All This Time I knew I had to jump on it - because who doesn’t love to break their own heart with a great book?

Also, can we comment on how beautiful the cover is?!

But the cover is not the only thing that is absolutely beautiful. This story is breathtaking. Kyle and Kimberly are the high school couple we always hear about - the football player and the cheerleader. So much happens in the first chapter that I cannot even begin to write it. Kyle meets our storyteller, Marley and what begins is a new love story. It isn’t until about halfway through the book that we get the big plot twist that turns everything around. Marley was by far my favorite part of this book! I just love how these authors can bring together such a bright world. A solid 3.5 out of 5 for me!

It was dramatic with a dream-like quality, but the actual story was predictable. It’s an interesting premise but the execution was just kind of boring. I loved Five Feet Apart with all my heart so I had high hopes. Unfortunately I’m pretty disappointed. The romance felt awkward and lacked chemistry. I was interested enough to finish but it never pulled me in.

The ending is horrible to be honest. There’s a lot of unnecessary things that happened right at the end that pushed my rating down from a weak 3-star to a 2-star book. It felt like the author threw in a crisis to make the book more exciting but it didn’t serve any purpose. It felt like the author added this to give Marley some kind of closure because she is essentially a manic pixie dream girl the entire book.

I loved this book. I was completely engrossed in the lives of the characters. I wanted them to heal and to be able to overcome the obstacles in their lives. I felt what they felt. The characters were well developed and had me sympathizing with them all. I was rooting for them to be happy. I was so surprised by the turn the book took at the end. I was happy with the way the book ended. Maybe a bit hokey but sometimes we need a little hokiness in our lives.

Such a beautiful and well written book. When I found out the another book was coming out from the authors of "Five Feet Apart", I knew I needed to request it and read. Well I devoured it in one sitting. The pure emotion coming off of each page was just so heartfelt. I loved the plot, but I would have never expected the plot twist. The cover art, is truly beautiful. 100% recommend if you are on the line.
