Kyle & Kimberly have been together since middle school. Now they are graduating high school. There is so much Kyle is looking forward to in the future until the tragic accident damages Kyle physically and emotionally. He can't figure out how to move forward or even if he wants to. Then he meets Marley. Marley helps Kyle feel better about the future and how to move forward. Neither Kyle nor Marley aren't sure they will be allowed to have happiness or even if they should. Tenderhearted read for grade 13+. There is drinking, cursing, and alluding to sex, but nothing graphic or detailed.

Thank you to NetGalley for a prelease copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Every high school has a Kyle and Kimberly. Perfect, golden, meant to be together. All This Time explores what happens when one is forced to figure out who they are on their own, chained to both survivor's guilt and the knowledge that the happy couple wasn't all that happy.

I wanted to love this book. I get requests for romance all of the time. My students love the tragic stuff. The premise was solid. Finding love after loss is a gift. The books holds some good surprises, and captures Kyle's sense of loss and frustration in a way that makes us feel for him while still seeing his flaws. It shows the slow and lovely unfolding of a new relationship and how one comes back from grief into life.

It was the last third that did me in. Part of my job is selecting books that serve as models for my students. Unfortunately, I don't find Kyle's choices romantic. I find them bordering on obsessive and even stalker-like, and the lack of reality in the relationship concerning. I'm sure my students would like it. They love Twilight, with all of its questionable relationship goals. If they ask for it, I'll probably get it, but not on my own impetus.

Loved this book! Starts out as a typical YA book, but quickly into it, a twist happens that alters the remaining parts. The story line is captivating and the characters are developed in a way you feel you know them. Have loved these authors in the past, and loved their writing in this book as well.

I was sent an e-ARC through Netgalley for an honest review.

Kyle & Kim and Sam. That's how it had always been. The 3 of them. Then one night that all ended and changed the rest of their lives forever.
An interesting twist in this love story. As I read, it felt like there was another shoe that would drop, and it did!!
This was a good story, real characters who were relatable.

The beginning of this book feels like the beginning of many young adult romance novels that have come before., but before you can lose interest you are hit with a twist that will leave you breathless. From there everything feels new. You learn along side the characters as they stretch and grow in new and unexpected way. You cheer for their wins and ache with them in their losses. The main character is the most fleshed out in the story, but none of the other characters feel flat or two-dimensional. They all feel like they have their own story but that we just don't get to learn it all right now. This is definitely a story worth sharing with someone who is looking for something beyond the typical 'happily ever after' fairy tale.

The first thing that needs to be said is that this story is absolutely compelling. I ended up staying up until about 3am to finish this book, in part because I couldn't sleep but also because I had to know what happened. For my students and other YA readers, I would strongly recommend the novel especially if romance is your cup of tea. If I could I would probably give this book a 3.5 star rating, but I'm going to round up to 4 because I did genuinely enjoy my time reading it.

The book is a solid piece of fiction - it's good. The story draws you in and makes you want to know more about whats happened, and why, and what is going to happen next. The story starts with graduation, and with the perfect couple of Kyle and Kim. Kyle is all set to be with Kim forever, but Kim breaks up with him because she needs to find out who she is on her own. I really appreciated this piece of the story, because it feels very real and also like something I wish more young people (my past self included) would think about as they think and plan for their future. What comes next is a car accident, and a complete upheaval of the world that Kyle knew to be true. Kim is dead and Kyle has to find a way to cope and recover. In part, he does this by falling in love again, although Marley (his new love interest) has secrets and issues of her own. I enjoyed the fact that I couldn't predict the major plot twist; I had one idea and the actual turn the story took was totally different, which was surprising and made me want even more so to know how the story would end. Kyle's character growth is strong (he was super annoying at the beginning but really shows growth and change), and overall, the story is one that I think I would potentially return to.

Where the book struggles is with the second half/third act. Parts of the third act are more predictable and it feels a little forced in ways that the first part didn't. I also didn't love the ending. It felt too much like a "happy ending" for the sake of having a happy ending rather than the reality of what would happen. The third act of the story felt very scripted; like what you would want to have happened in a movie or a teen drama rather than a more realistic novel. And maybe this was never intended to be realistic (the ending suggests this), but it took me out of the story more than it drew me in. Parts of the evolution of certain relationships didn't feel genuine and felt creepy at times - when a girl isn't interested, don't keep pursuing her. However, I should also note that this was minimal and on the whole, I think the characters felt very much like teenagers and young people in the world.

Regardless of flaws, the novel has some great points to make about love and loss, teenage romance, and depression. Overall, I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves a YA romance that will make you cry and give you that perfect happy ending.

This book is not well written. I did not finish it - I gave up at 60% of the way through it. The story is inconsistent, the timeline seems to leap forward for no apparent reason, and the characters are poorly constructed and weak. Plot points are introduced and then just as rapidly disappear with no resolution. The secondary characters have no depth. I thought this was a romance, and then I thought maybe it had supernatural elements, but now I think it's just not well written or edited.

Kyle and Kimberly were the All-American perfect couple: the high school quarterback and the perfect cheerleader. They had dated for years and seemed to have it all together. Until graduation night. when Kimberly breaks up with Kyle That's also the night of the accident, At this point our story really begins. Kyle is critically injured in the accident and Kimberly is dead. How will he go on without her?

This story takes some interesting turns and for a while, you're not sure how it will go. What is real? What isn't? It will keep you guessing until the very last page, If you liked "Five Feet Apart" from the same authors, you're going to love this book. It's better.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All This Time, from the minds who brought us Five Feet Apart, is a fast paced YA romance that will draw you in from the start and keep you on your toes until the end. I enjoyed this light-hearted read and devoured this book in the span of a single afternoon.

All This Time centers on Kyle, who has just graduated from high school when he and his girlfriend Kim get into a horrific accident that leaves her dead and him injured. As he comes to terms with the loss of one of the people he is closest to in the world, he finds himself opening up to a girl he meets while visiting Kim's grave. You find yourself cheering for their budding friendship and possibly even relationship, but at the same time, it felt from the start that something might have been off.

I got very strong Charlie St. Cloud vibes from Marley, the girl Kyle becomes close to, and was relieved to find that I was wrong -- but I did not bargain for what the twist ended up being. From the time you understand what is really going on, it will be hard to put the book down because you just want to see how the story resolves.

There were a few instances early on in the book that I felt that information was missing; I read rather quickly so I was worried I had somehow skipped paragraphs because there were moments where the narrative would jump without explanation, but in looking back, that information just wasn't there. I don't think I lost anything as a result, but did have a feeling of discontinuity at times.

Overall, I think All This Time fits well into the YA genre and made for an enjoyable read. While not as heart wrenching as Five Feet Apart, the story telling is on par.

I picked this book up solely because it had a pretty color and because a character shared a name with me, which is rare. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a contemporary book, and a longer time since a book made me cry within the first few chapters. This story just pushed me towards the waterworks. There were ups and downs about the whole piece, but I genuinely think it is a great read for the YA audience.

Kyle and Kimberly are the stereotypical (annoying) couple. Kyle is the football star and Kim is head cheerleader. However, they’re not as perfect as they seem, and to be honest, there is more to Kyle than just being a jock (although you can’t really tell what it is at the beginning of the book). When Kyle and Kim go to break up for their seventh time in Kyle’s parked car in the rain, they are hit by another car. This leaves Kyle hospitalized with a leg and brain injury and kills Kimberly. Kyle can’t seem to cope with the loss and depression until he finally goes to Kim’s grave and meets Marley. Marley is yellow everything. She exudes Luna Lovegood vibes and Kyle is instantly smitten without realizing it. Their friendship grows slowly over a few months until Kyle and Marley admit they have feelings for one another. Kyle realizes a lot about himself through Marley and the areas of his life that need to grow and develop. Kyle also provides a stabilizing hand for Marley as she works through her own shadows and sad stories. Character development-wise, I was more drawn to Marley than anyone else in the book. She was interesting, quirky, had just the right amount of a hidden past, and solemnness to her. For a while, I didn’t even think she was a real person. I thought she might be dead or an ongoing hallucination that Kyle was having. Kyle grew on me after a while. I think I would have enjoyed him more if his personality was uncovered and showcased earlier in the book, but I understand that it wasn’t in order to show his growth as a person.

This book was good. It had a really intense and amazing plot twist, that kept growing and expanding through to the end of the book. I had worries once it happened but thankfully it ended up working for the story and ending in a way that served the plot strongly. However, it wasn’t a great piece. It felt like it was written for a screen and was very Hallmark-y or written for the CW. There were times when I was reading descriptions and things that were “happening” and it felt like it was being written directly for a movie. As someone who is reading the book, that’s not such a great feeling. The visuals feel cheapened, not as descriptive, and almost don’t make sense. There is a whole scene at the end of the book that made me stop because it really didn’t make sense. Literally, it wasn’t possible and wasn’t real and that detracted hugely from the emotions of the moment. The ending was also really… odd. A situation occurred that added almost no real value to the plot or the characters other than maybe shock value? It was kind of disappointing. The way the relationship “evolves” in the end is also a little creepy. It happened to quickly and didn’t feel genuine. The book had me going all the way through the plot twist until the last pieces at the end. Then it began to drop for me.

Overall, the book was good. It has a romance plot, is very dramatic and chock full of emotions. It would do even better on screen. This author duo knows what they’re doing is designing a great teen romance made for mass marketing. It’s not a particularly intellectual piece, but it does have some amazing things to say about a teen dealing with loss and depression. I would probably take the time to read other books by them in the future and would recommend this to people who enjoy a good tear-jerker YA romance!

Another beautifully heartbreaking story that had me in tears. I loved Five Feet Apart and All This Time was just as good! Cried soooo much. Please keep tissues near while reading.
