With 20 different authors, it's a guarantee that there will be some hits and some misses. I loved the concept of the anthology, but none of the stories really stuck with me or left me wanting more.
The idea behind Two and Twenty Dark Tales is great. We all know that the original fairy tales were quite dark and not meant for children. A retelling of fairy tales with a dark twist sounded great. However, the book just didn't meet expectations.
The idea of this was so cool and . I was excited to read dark and twisted versions of these nursery rhymes but I the execution fell a little short for me.
I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

This one was great! I love anthologies, and I could not put this one down. They are so much fun, and with these authors you just couldn't go wrong! I do have to say that none of the stories really stood out. They were all about the same. Each one was interesting, engaging, and I would love to read full length novels for each one.
Big 5 stars for this one! I love the cover too. Its always intresting to see how they are going to add all the authors names to the cover, and this way it's beautiful and doesnt take away from the cover art. Great Job!
Not bad but I've definitely read better dark fairy tale retellings. As with all anthologies, some stories were much better than others and some had no impact on me whatsoever. Still, I liked that the stories were as dark and unsettling as promised.
I thought the twists to the mother goose rhymes was neat. It was different than what I normally read.
I didn't get a chance to read this before it expired on my nook. I'm sorry! I did buy it and hope to eventually read it!
*I never got around to reading and reviewing this book. I may do so in the future*
Unfortunately Two and Twenty Blackbirds fell a little flat for me. I wanted to love it so much more than I did. I think I was expecting these tales to be darker or perhaps scarier in a way and too many of them left me feeling underwhelmed. However I loved the way in which many of them stayed faithful to the original Mother Goose rhymes. I really enjoyed finding the twists of these retellings.
