This 4th book in the Vanderbeekers series does not disappoint! Great storyline with ups and downs but full of love and hope. I love this family and young readers will too. A great addition to diversify your bookshelf with some minority joy books.

Thank you NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have loved the Vanderbeekers stories since book 1, and this new book, Vanderbeekers Lost and Found, has taken its place as my favorite of the Vanderbeekrs story. The story is just so real. It is about a family and those that they have chosen in their lives to also be in their family. The love in this apartment building is real and personal. I loved the kids showing their struggles, strengths, and achievements throughout history. I thought it displayed real-life struggles, such as fitting in, making friends, losing a loved one, and finding your forever family. I highly recommend this book. It was beautifully written!

My almost-ten-year-old son and I love spending time in the company of the Vanderbeekers, and this third outing was no exception. The stakes are high this time for the fate of the Vanderbeekers' friend Orlando, but the kids, along with their supportive parents and neighbors and their loving family of pets can always be counted upon to save the day. Note: the books begins on a sad note, as (spoiler alert)

the family loses their beloved neighbor Mr. Jeet, but his death is handled with sensitivity and hope. I love this series and hope it continues for years to come.

Though I've heard from my reader friends about Vanderbeeker books, The Vanderbeekers Lost and Found was my first Vanderbeeker book to read. What I enjoyed was that even though I hadn't read the first three books, the author was meticulous in her descriptions and I felt as though she did a great job of catching me up on what I missed out on. The author also did a great job of character development. I felt that even though the story is based on a family with lots of children and supporting characters/neighbors, each had their own distinct personality that made it easy for the reader to follow along and enjoy the story.

I look forward to recommending the Vanderbeeker books to next years students.

When all is wrong with the world and times are uncertain, you can could on The Vanderbeekers to give readers something to believe in: family, kindness, resilience and a better New York. This book inadvertently brought me to tears on several occasions (I don't think it will do it to all readers, but the setting lives in this book.) I just loved everything about this one.

Thank you NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely adore all of the Vanderbeekers story and am so happy I was able to read this one early! As expected, this was a phenomenal story. It had a lot of heartbreak, but a lot of hope and love as well. I also was sooooo hungry for cookies the entire time.

The Vanderbeekers Lost and Found is just as good as the other three books! The family remains incredibly lovable and they continue to make the world a better place. Their stories/adventures give readers hope and inspiration! I love being a part of their world. Karina Yan Glaser really created something incredibly special and writes it so beautifully. These characters and the brownstone have a permanent home in my heart.

This was a sweet story about friends helping friends. The families work to help each other in their building. I have not read the first book, so I do not know the beginning history.

I rarely read sequels. There are just too many characters and stories I want to meet! However, the fourth installment of the Vanderbeekers had me holding onto every last word. How incredible for an author to build such a loving community and family that we want to go with them through loss and grief. Homelessness and illness are two tough topics this novel addresses, yet it makes the reader feel safe and loved all throughout. This might be the best one yet.

I will read as many books about the Vanderbeekers as are written. I love this family.

What a pleasure it was to return once again to the brownstone on 141st Street in Harlem,New York City, home to the seven-member Vanderbeeker family, assorted pets and beloved neighbors. In the fourth installment of the Vanderbeeker series, the five Vanderbeeker children, ages 6 to 15, try to convince their friend Orlando to remain in New York instead of moving to Georgia to stay with relatives. Familiar neighborhood characters make their return, welcoming readers back into their lives. As in real life, there is sadness as well as relentless optimism. As each of the children deal with his or her issues and struggles, the overarching theme is love. When all hope seems lost, and it seems as if Orlando will no longer be part of their lives, an unexpected hero steps in. Have your tissue box ready for another heartwarming adventure on 141st Street. Filled with the joy of life's everyday moments, this memorable story will be a hit with devoted fans and new fans alike. Hooray for the irrepressible Vanderbeekers!

I absolutely love the Vanderbeeker family. This series just keeps getting better and better. The kids and parents in this series are so lovable. They deal with a variety of issues that readers can relate and learn from. There are so many positive role models in this series that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of the books in this series to any student third grade and above.

I really love this series! All of the characters are great and each story has the characters doing something great for someone else. This one was sad, but I thought they handled it very well. I look forward to the next adventure with these kids!

Another addition to a fantastic and fun series! I love all of the kids in this story. The way the stories always have a bit of heart right next to a bit of humour makes this a series for any age. Well done!
