My favorite characters in this book were Hannah and the twin brothers who were tired of sleeping in the cellar - a downside to having many children is that you run out of room! The boys hatch a plot to get their brother Austin married and out of the house so that they can finally get a real bedroom.
Austin, however, can't marry until he can support a wife. He wants his own business, a general store where Amish people - including his family members - can also market their goods. It was so interesting to read about the process. He was successful with the help of his best friend Hannah, who also makes the most delicious baked goods and is also a fine artist.
Austin has his eye on Priscilla, the prettiest girl in town - who may also have been the most unlikeable, in my opinion, and her 'organic' recipes were appalling. I thought Austin was too self-centered and oblivious for too long about what was going on around him, and frankly, thought Hannah could have done better. I recommend this book for the twin brothers' antics, Hannah and her recipes, and the process of starting the store.

So long awaited. I was so happy this book has finally been released I've missed Benjie and Alfie. Yea and I was looking forward to Austin's story :). Written with her usual humor and depth, this book is a great ending to this series. I loved seeing past characters not just from this series but other book by Ms Beckstrand. I really appreciate that so many of her characters cross books and series. A Petersheim romance is not possible without a little meddling from the best little brothers in the world, who apparently have their own future romance in the wings. This time around the twins can't agree on who is the best future wife for Austin so each tries to attract a lady on their own. Hilarity ensues. Austin on his own needs to learn what he truly needs and desires in a future wife. Moving pass vanity and superficial qualities to ones that last and grow. Funny yet teaching some deep and important lessons. I hope I haven't seen the last of the Petersheim twins.
Fun and Entertaining
Hannah Yutzy and Austin Petertsheim have been friends since childhood. Hannah knows she feels more for Austin than just friendship, but he only sees her as his easy to talk to friend. To top it off, Austin only has eyes for Priscilla Lambright, the most popular girl in town. However, courting Priscilla means that he has to have viable financial means for the future. In order to meet that goal, Austin looks to begin a business. As Hannah encourages him, he finds that she has some great ideas that can help make the business a reality. While Austin works at getting the business ready to go, he also has the task of taking care of his little brothers, twins Alfie and Benji, who can be quite a handful, but add so much to the story.
I greatly enjoyed His Amish Sweetheart, which I found to be very entertaining. Much of it was due to the twins' antics. However, when a few young ladies joined forces with the twins, that made it all the more entertaining. As for the others, I loved Hannah. She was sweet, funny, and so caring. Austin, on the other hand, had me wanting to shake him on more than one occasion with his over the top dedication to Priscilla, who I so did not like. Her whininess and her obsession with her "organic" recipes quickly put her in the unlikeable category. However, when you put together characters you love, characters you want to shake, and characters that you just don't like, along with some hilarious antics of the littles, you have a great combination that makes a fun and entertaining story that you're sure to enjoy.

His Amish Sweetheart by Jennifer Beckstrand is an entertaining Amish tale. I laughed so often while reading this engaging story. Alfie and Benji are a hoot. The twin brothers are determined to get their bedroom back. They do not like sleeping in the cellar (there are spiders, it smells, and a rat could eat them you know). The boys decide the only solution is to marry off their three older brothers. They have had success with Andrew and Abraham. Austin, though, is going to be more of a challenge. Austin is too handsome for his own good and a bit self-centered. The twins believe Hannah Yutzy, Austin’s best friend, is the right person for Austin. The problem is making Austin see it and direct him away from Priscilla Lambright. Austin finds Priscilla to be the prettiest girl in their community and she loves the Petersheim peanut butter. Alfie and Benji come up with a plan to nudge Austin in Hannah’s direction. They enlist the help of two of Hannah’s young female cousins. Can the twins get Austin married off so they can move back into their old bedroom? I thought His Amish Sweetheart was well-written with developed characters. I just love the characters in this series especially the mischievous Benji and Alfie. Their antics had me laughing. The addition of Hannah’s young cousins added to the hilarity. We also get to catch up with the Honeybee sisters and their colorful aunt, Bitsy. I like how everything tied together into one engaging story. There are good life lessons as well. I enjoyed seeing the characters learn and grow. I did not want this diverting story to end (I am still laughing about the BM cookies). The conclusion was delightful. His Amish Sweetheart (formerly known as Austin) is the third book in The Petersheim Brothers series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but this is one series you do not want to miss. I hope this is not the end of the road for Alfie and Benji. His Amish Sweetheart is a heartwarming and humorous Amish tale with Petersheim Peanut Butter, inventive twins, luscious cinnamon rolls, a sign scrape, a cookie crisis, reading time troubles, and a merry market.
A quirky, sometimes funny and perfect look at how sometimes communication can make all the difference when dealing with others.
Such a cute, humerous and lighthearted story. Loved it although it was rather short and a very quick read. More of a novella than a novel
All the stories it the series could be bound into one larger novel, but it was a good read and I would recommend for a quick summer read
Loved the twins, Alfie and Benji, and the characters Hannah and Austin.
Recommend
There were like three brothers they called they made the best peanut butter. Their names are Andrew, Abraham, and Austin.
Austin is falling in love with a girl named Hannah. His brother's help him by wanting to buy a house so they could run a market place from there to show Hannah that he is worthy of her because Austtin wants to be with Hannah. With a lot of work and a lot of love he showed Hannah that he really did love her. If you like a good like Christian story this Is a book.fot you. Its about faith, family, and love.
As much as I’ve enjoyed this series, this one wasn’t quite as enjoyable as the first two books in the series.
It had some cute parts that I genuinely liked, but, it lacked some of the charm for me.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
The two nine-year-old Petersheim twins were tired of sleeping in the cellar. They decided to form a plan to get their brother Austin out of the house so they could finally sleep in the bedroom upstairs.
They thought they could get Austin to marry at the same time as their other brother so that the bedroom would then be free and that would mean No More Sleeping in the Cellar!
The boys each pick a girl from their school to help them formulate their plan. And the race is on!
Enjoy this fun filled story as only two boys and their imagination can think this scheme will work.
I would like to thank NetGalley #NetGalley and #ZebraBooks for giving me the opportunity to read and review this wonderful book.
3.5 stars
I have been enjoying Ms. Beckstrand's books for a while now, so I was very excited to have the opportunity to read this book! I read the first two books in the series and have been waiting to read this one. The Petersheim Brothers series has been sweet to read and I like seeing cameos from other characters across the series! Austin Petersheim is caught between work and taking care of his little brothers, much too busy to court the most popular girl in town. But starting a local market so he can directly sell his family’s goods, maybe he can stand out. And his longtime friend, Hannah Yutzy is such a help, with her practicality and ideas, and so easy to talk to. But his brothers have their own plan, one to ensure that Austin and Hannah see that they are right for each other. When trouble with a rival family store arises, Hannah and Austin must work to set things right. As they do, Austin realizes that his best friend could be the perfect wife for him, but will she agree?
I really loved Hannah! She was so sweet and I loved her positivity! She seemed so fun and sweet in the other books, I really appreciated how welcoming she always was. However, I had a little more trouble with Austin. I just did not like him as much as I hoped to. He seemed a bit self-centered and did not seem to see what was going on around him. Because of this, there were times where I was a bit frustrated while reading.
The story was pretty fun, but at times felt a bit slow. It sometimes felt like the characters were a bit flat. I liked seeing the boys again though and their co-conspirators! They were fun to read about. It was nice to see the brothers' story wrapup. This was a clean Amish romance. I think it is worth it to read the books previously in the series, but not necessary. I would give it 3.5 stars out of 5.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.
My blurb …
Ever been so busy that you don’t have time to think? That’s Austin Petersheim. Running a business, keeping his little brothers out of trouble — there is simply no time to court the most popular 'maidel' in town. He seeks Hannah’s help for courting and more. What he doesn’t figure on is the “extra” courting assistance planned by his twin little brothers.
My review …
Jennifer Beckstrand is one of my favorite Amish authors. But drat, this book didn’t do it for me. I guess starting out with “making” the little boys, 9 years old, sleep in the cellar turned my momma|nana light to a strobe setting. But these two guys are great little characters, twins Alfie & Benji provide smiles throughout.
Their 'mamm' insists on the dog the boys call TinTin must be called LaWayne or they couldn’t keep him. That bothered me a lot and really, LaWayne for a dog’s name! Eventually, it was explained (two chapters later) but that was the second thing with the boys that, well, I didn’t like. And that colored the whole story for me.
Characters: This book is rich with characters. There’s the character Priscilla; she’s the “most popular maidel” mentioned in the description. Even Amish men can be taken in by a pretty face. Oh, and the character Scilla. Ever had a pushy “friend” who assures you that tofu is just as good as steak? That’s Scilla. And her cookies — and you will be thankful the recipe is NOT included. Another great character is Bitsy who is Amish but dyes her hair in various colors and yes, it wasn’t a typo–she’s Amish. And you won’t like Raymond Glick.
The boys know that Austin should marry Hannah. She’s practical, makes fabulous donuts, and always seems to have a solution to a problem. There is a lot in this book to like. And I do recommend it. Maybe I was just having an “off” moment. But you shouldn’t. It’s got a fun and sweet ending.
For me, this was a 3.5-star rating but most review sites only post whole numbers which will be 4 stars.

Another wonderful book by Jennifer Beckstrand! I love this series and like the books prior to this one, I could not put it down.
In this third book about the Petersheim brothers, it’s Austin’s turn to be the target of 9-year-old twins Alfie and Benji to try to marry off their older brothers. Benji really shined as a thoughtful, caring boy in contrast to the impetuous Alfie, although Alfie did admit he picked the wrong girl for Austin.
Austin was hard to warm up to. He needed a slap upside the head. His best friend was sweet, generous Hannah, but he didn’t consider dating or marrying her. No, he wanted the beautiful but shallow Priscilla. His self-centered treatment of Hannah was appalling, but she was in love with him. Watching him kowtow to Scilla was heartbreaking for her and the reader. Thank goodness for his mischievous little brothers.
This book was a really fun read! Lots of buildup and really fun side commentary from all of the little siblings. The action at the end felt a bit rushed but overall pretty great!
His Amish Sweetheart by Jennifer Beckstrand is a delightful book. Ms. Beckstrand tells a fun story. She has a good understanding of human nature. Her characters are believable and full. I particularly enjoyed the twin brothers, Alfie and Benji. They are good hearted, but full of mischief,.
Alfie and Benji want to get their brother married off so that they can have his bedroom. Their antics both help and get in the way of their brother, Austin's romantic efforts. Hannah and Priscilla are both vying for Austin's heart. There are some fun plot twists and unexpected turns. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.
Thank you Kensington Books, Zebra for allowing me to read His Amish Sweetheart by Jennifer Beckstrand through NetGally.
The Peanut Butter Brothers are featured again in this addition to the series. This is Austin’s love story. Jennifer has again included his twin brothers, Alfie and Benji, that just can’t stay out of the matchmaking business.
Hannah, Austin’s lifelong friend, helps him open an Amish market and craft shop. While Austin begins to date Scilla, just the type of Amish girls every guy wants, but meanwhile the twins decide to help Hanna and Austin fall in love.
What will it take for Austin to get over himself and make a success out of his adventure. Will Austin ever see his best choice might be nearer than he things.
Preorder this 5-star book that will be released, June 28, 2022. All ideas in this review are mine, and I was not ask for a positive review.
It was so good to be back with the Petersheim Brothers in this book! I've missed them! In one way, this was my favorite of the three books as the twin little brothers had a lot more depth and nuance than they have in the previous two books. Where before, they were mostly just naughty and out of control in ways that made this mama's heart shudder, in this one, their kind hearts showed through, even when they were getting themselves into trouble. The main character, Austin, however, drove me absolutely batty with how clueless and rude he was to Hannah throughout the book. He didn't deserve her one bit, and if she'd been my friend in real life, I would have counseled her that she could do so much better. But alas, this is fiction, so we'll hope he has truly learned his lesson and changed completely and will treat her much better than he did throughout this story. :)
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley.
Poignant, riveting read! This humorous book is sure to delight readers. Hannah feels underappreciated by Austin who she has a crush on. Inwardly, she shakes her head at a shallow girl he has chosen to date. Things come to a head when Austin's brothers, Benji and Alfie, try to bring Austin and Hannah together in unusual (and humorous) ways. Will Austin settle for the shallow girl he clings to or will he realize the treasure Hannah is?
Austin is the 3rd Petersheim peanut butter making brother and this is his story. I enjoyed the antics of his 9 year old twin brothers and the dedication and love his longtime friend Hannah has for him. What a fun filled book and it was a joy to be able to escape world issues and jump right into this book that awakened all my emotions. Laughter, surprise, and frustration really took me on a roller coaster ride.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest opinion and review.
I enjoyed reading His Amish Sweetheart. Jennifer really knows how to capture her readers. I couldn’t put my tablet down because I wanted to see what other ideas the twins came up with to get out of the cellar and to get their brother interested in dating the girl they chose for him. If you haven’t read her books, I would certainly encourage you to read the Peanut Butter brothers series.
