I was very kindly sent this book to read, in return for an honest review.
I was addicted to this sweet, lighthearted romance right from the start and I stayed up way too late to make sure I finished it!!
The story was a little bit geeky(in a good way!) but also funny and smart and full of emotions.
The two main characters - Winnie and Daniel make a cute couple and their relationship is adorable. Reading all about them made me feel all warm and fuzzy!!
I think Daniel has to be my overall favourite character, I loved how patient and charming he was - especially with Winifred.
The story revolves around Dr. Daniel and midwife Winnie and when they both first meet, Daniel feels he has met his perfect match. Winnie is not too sure about Daniel because she feels she is far too old for him. Despite a few obstacles, including a bet with a family member and some small town gossip, they eventually get together!!
I instantly fell in love with the wonderful Timber Falls and all it’s residents and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

I wish there was more!

This is a cute romance between Winfred, a midwife, and Daniel, a doctor. They say it takes the perfect women to change a womanizer and that is exactly what happened to Daniel. After seeing Winfred for the first time in the hospital he was enchanted by her and was not able to stop his pursuit. Winfred on the other hand was getting over a bad break up and wanted nothing to do with him. Like they always say true love will prevail and that is what happened here. My only qualm is that there wasn't enough meat to this story. It was a believable romance and I enjoyed meeting the characters and their families but I wish we got to just read more. I can't wait to read the next book in this series I hope it follows Daniel's brother, Kyle.

I enjoyed this romance between Winnie and 'the other' Dr Durand. Lots of interesting characters in this book - Winnie's mother being one! and an interesting element with the age difference between Winnie and Daniel, which I thought was handled well. I didn't doubt they'd end up together, and enjoyed the development of the relationship as they worked through their attraction and the issues between them. I was team Daniel!

Also interested to find out how it goes for Kyle and Ashley in the next book.

"Daniel suddenly knew he had a soul for the first time , and its first order of business was declaring that it had found its mate."

Dr.Daniel Durand has decided that he wants to get serious and find the woman of his dreams, he just didn't think she would be his attendings daughter. It was love at first sight for Daniel, Winnie stole his heart and then went on to blow him off, this however didn't stop Daniel. With the help of his older brother and dad, Daniel continues to pursue Winnie and prove that he is serious about his feelings for her.

••

Winnie is living her dream helping mothers bring life into the world as a midwife, it would all be perfect if only her mother would stop insisting she become a doctor. Winnie is so determined not to follow in her mothers footsteps so much so that she has failed her MCATs twice on purpose. Her only problem being she doesn't know how to tell her mum she doesn't want to become a MD.

••

Not only does Winnie have to deal with her mothers constant nagging but she needs a date to the wedding of her college professor, where her ex will also be in attendance. When Daniel hears that Winnie needs a date he all but jumps at the chance to accompany her. The two grow closer after the wedding so much so that her mother takes notice, once again she does not approve saying Winnie is a passing fad for Daniel. Finally finding her voice Winnie stands up to her mother, which leads to a bet between mother and daughter, that Daniel won't last 8 weeks. Now not only does Daniel have to prove himself to Winnie but her mother and the entire town.

••

"You’re in love with her. Crazy. He just thought she was classy and gorgeous and brave and intelligent and wanted to make her laugh and take her to bed and give her presents that made her eyes light up and die for her if necessary."

I loved this book, Winnie and Daniel were beyond cute and so easy to love. This was a cute romance that had me rooting for Daniel from the very beginning. I loved how connected to his patients he was and that they were more that sick people to him. As for Winnie, I felt so sad for her that her mother kept pushing her into something she didn't want when it was clear she loved being a midwife.

••

West has done a brilliant job with this romance, I can not wait for Kyle and Ainsley's story. I have to say I loved the cover of this book, it is so cute and depicts both characters well. I highly recommend this novel.

This was a super fun, fast-paced romance that I read in one sitting. The setting is a really charming small town in Oregon that has a lot of fun side characters, whose stories I’m excited to read in future books. The characters Daniel and Winnie were very believable and I totally bought in to their romance. However, the reason I didn’t give it five stars is because some of the conflicts, especially with Winnie’s mom, were resolved unbelievably quickly and were conflicts I feel like I’ve seen in romances a million times before. So, if you’re looking for a romance with great characters and don’t want a lot of angst, this is definitely for you!

On the whole I liked this book, there were a few things that irritated me but nothing that would stop me from recommending the book, or stop me from reading the next book in the series.

The pace of the book seemed a bit disjointed with some parts moving on at a pace and other parts seeming to take forever. I found Winnie's struggle with their age gap frustrating as I do see why her being older was an issue. I think I read that she was 6 years older which for me is not really that much of an age gap.

I also think the bet she enters into with her mum was a bit weird and I think the same end could have been reached through a more believable situation. I don't think my mum would ever based her approval on my other half on whether I could resist the urge to sleep with him for 8 weeks!

I liked Daniel Durand, his character was sweet natured, charming and genuine. his love for the job and care of his patience meant you were routing for him and Winnie to make it. Winnie struggles with following her dream or disappointing her mum as well as learning to let go and follow her heart.

This is a pretty easy going read, and whilst I did have a few eye roll moments I still enjoyed reading it and was happy with the ending. This is the first book I have read by this author and I would give another one of her books ago. There is another book being published later this year which is the story of Kyle, who is Daniels brother and Ainsley, who is good friends with Daniel and Winnie's room mate, which I will be keeping my eye out for.

A cute and quick, angst free romantic story, with interesting couple dynamics and side characters.

I had to get used to the writing style of the author, as it wasn't my normal MO, but the story was captivating enough to finish the book. I would've liked a bit more descriptive storytelling, maybe less space for dialogue and more for setting up the scenes and storyline. Sometimes the book seemed a bit rushed, we jumped ahead days, where we learned that the protagonists spoke in between without us experiencing it.

It was a quick and easy pick me up, I hope I can read the next book in the series.

3.5 stars but I decided to round up!
First off, the cover is super cute, mostly because Thor is on it and I love Thor.
I really loved this idea of a series, thanks to Netgalley for approving me for the arc.
I loved Daniel's personality, I like how dyslexia is represented in this book as well as family dynamics. Daniel totally gave me some young Matthew McConnehey vibes!
I love how this series is romantic, yet there's drama. Kind of a morph of Vigin River, Hart of Dixie, and Call the Midwife.
Winnie is a no-nonsense character and I love that her voice is gravelly. I know we rarely get that deep-voice/gravel voice representation.
Did I swoon? Yes. I love how this book ended and I can't wait for the future books!

I actually thought it was something good! Not great. But still pretty good. 3.5 stars rounded up.

Loved the premise. I think older woman/younger man trope is highly underrated.

It was a little too OTT for me. Winifred just rubbed me a little wrong but I wanted to like her. I did. And the whole town doing the Team Daniel/ Team Sandra thing? Ugh, no.

I still enjoyed the book and set up for future books and would read the next one.

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Love gives no cares to age.

Small towns have a way of taking your heart, even when Winnie did not come to Timber Falls for anything but focusing on work. A midwife with a doctor for a mother as well, the last thing she needs is to fall for the younger doctor in her hospital.

Winnie and Daniel were a cute fun couple of characters and I really liked who they were as individuals and how they came together as a couple throughout the story. I thought West did a great job setting up all the characters for future books in the series as well, I'll definitely be reading more of them in the future!

Highly recommend for any light hearted romance lovers, and looking forward to Kyle & Ainsley's story next! Loved that it was perfectly relatable and mushy, with no steamy sex scenes and still had a great story!

I just have to mention the cover artwork too - the subtle nod to graphic novels that play a part in this title was one of the things I loved most about Winnie & Daniel's story.

Solid four stars from me, thank you to Netgalley and Tempest & Kite Publishing LLC for allowing me to read an advance reader copy of this title in exchange for my personal review!

This story had so many things I enjoy in a book: romance, humor, lighthearted, fun, family bonds, banter, and an ending. If you're looking for a cute romance, try out "Could Be Something Good"!

This story is about a doctor and a midwife nurse who do not hit it off right away. Dr. Daniel Durand feels that he has found his perfect match in Nurse Winnie. Winnie feels that she is too old for Daniel. Daniel has to work for Winnie's attention and to get a date with her. If they want to be together, there will be a few obstacles they have to overcome first, such as small town gossip, and a bet with a family member.

I enjoyed the minor characters in this story and look forward to reading Kyle and Ainsley's story.

I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving an advanced free copy.

This was such a cute story! Winnie is a midwife working at the same hospital Daniel is doing his residency in. He is smitten the first time he lays eyes on her, but she is determined not to fall for his charms – until she does, of course.

Daniel was just a great guy, so respectful and invested in his career and his relationship with Winnie. I also loved his family! The mother daughter relationship between the Baker women was interesting and realistic. Winnie herself was also a great character, I sympathised with her struggles about Daniel, her mother and her career. She doesn't exactly have a 'sunshine' personality, but I enjoyed how cautious she was at first and eventually we got to see that she is brave and has a huge heart.

I enjoyed the age difference between the main characters, although Winnie was a bit too clueless at times, as if being over 30 is ancient. Also, since this topic is often discussed in the story , their ages could have been clearer. Maybe I missed it but I just remember Winnie "thinking" Daniel was 24 and often saying she was "over 30". Still it was refreshing to see an older woman going for a younger man and I appreciated Daniel's dad calling out society's double standard on age gaps.

I wish the story and the characters had a little more depth, but it was still a really enjoyable read and I'm excited for Kyle & Ainsley's story!

I felt this story tried to do so much and cram so many tropes, plotlines and anecdotes that it just fell flat for me.

The story starts off well enough, with Winifred moving into a flat with Ainsley. Ainsley is besties with Daniel who just happens to work at the same hospital as Winifred and so the romance begins.

I enjoyed the tone of the story. It's light-hearted, flirty and sweet. But, as mentioned above, too many things were crammed into this story. There's the age-gap, then Winifred so-called complex relationship with her mother, then Daniel's dyslezia and Kyle's autism, which felt like it was thrown in as an afterthought, then the relationship having to fight against "all odds". By the time I reached about 70% of the story, it just completely bombed because then the juvenile and completely ridiculous wager occurred. That was left field and just did not fit in with the story. After that with the way in which the town became involved was absolutely cringe-worthy and I almost DNF'd it at that point.

I did make it to the end however which unfortunately was another let down because it ended with a milestone which that crushed any little credibility that the wager possessed and was just completely unrealistic.

Because this story was trying to do too much and just trying too hard, everything just seemed surface level and nothing was explored in-depth making it all unbelievable.

Recieved an eARC from Netgalley for an honest review.

This was super cute, relationship focused romance read.
No explicit scenes, just really pure fluff and watching these two main characters get to know, accept and love each other.

I loved how this focused solely on how their relationship developed and how their relations with family members and friends with others impacted their decision about their relationship.

It did kind of feel insta-lovey, but that could be due to the fact that the story skips weeks at a time to focus on key part of their relationship to progress the story.

Overall it's a book that put a smile on my face and I'll definitely be getting to the second one.

This lighthearted romance was so entertaining. After bumping into Winnie at work Daniel is besotted and attempts to win her over so he can take her out on a date. Winnie is older than Daniel and although is attracted to him does not think that there could be more than friendship due to the age difference. The other problem is that Winnie is the daughter of Daniels boss and she has made it clear to Winnie that Daniel is not good enough.
The family relationships in this book was fantastic and it was nice to see some representation of dyslexia and autism but would have loved to have seen more of this.
I was often laughing out loud with the banter between not only Daniel and Winnie but also Daniel and his brother Kyle. I look forward to reading the story of Kyle and Daniel's best friend Ainsley

I absolutely loved this book. It was a cute, mushy Rom-Com & a medical romance with Daniel Durand who is a resident doctor & Winifred Baker (Winnie) who is a Nurse/ Midwife at the same hospital. I liked that the medical parts were not too overly done which would make it confusing for non medicos & not quite underdone with the hospital used just as a location for the romance. There were certain parts focused just on their work at the hospital which I liked.
.
There were also characters with disabilities which were represented well in the book. Daniel is dyslexic & Kyle his brother is Autistic. It was shown how they go through their day to day life with these & that this is just an aspect of their personality & that having these disabilities doesnt make them any less intelligent than others which I loved reading about.
.
Another thing that I loved were the interactions between all the charachters. The chemistry & witty banter between Daniel & Winnie was perfect & the banter & Daniel's antics had me laughing at everytime. I loved Daniel's interactions with his family & how open & accepting of each other they were.
.
The Marvel references were definitely the cherry on the cake.😁
Had a ear to ear smile on my face by the time I reached the end. I would definitely recommend this book if you love rom-coms or medical romances & if you are looking for a light comfy read this is the perfect book for you.❤

Could Be Something Good is a short but funny modern romance. I laughed along with the characters and cheered them on to their happy ending. This novel is PG, with nothing beyond kissing, so feel free to read then share with your younger friends!

This was a great light read. I'm giving it 4 stars because it made me smile and I really enjoyed the book. I look forward to reading the next one in the series. He's a resident she's a midwife . He younger then her and age does play a role in this story. There's humor which will make you smile a lot.********I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. *********************

Where to even start with this book? I believe this book could be good based on the story line; however, there were so many unbelievable events in this book that it made it a little too dramatized for my taste.

Dr. Daniel Durand is the 3rd doctor in his family following his father and his older brother, Kyle. Daniel also appears to be jokester of the family and Kyle called him "shallow" in all things - his clothing, his women, etc. Early in the book he meets Winnie, a nurse mid-wife who is ~10 years older than him. She also happens to be the daughter of the doctor he currently reports to in his residency. Her mom (Dr. Baker) makes Winnie feel like a failure because she has failed the MCAT multiple times (which we later learn that she failed it on purpose because she doesn't want to attend medical school).

Daniel takes one look at her and decides he has to have her immediately. She wants no part in that for several reasons, but one of the biggest is their age gap. Everyone she encounters seems to make the "cougar" jokes and other crude comments about her robbing the cradle. Winnie's mom (Dr. Baker) even notices that Daniel is sweet on Winnie and she warns him against pursuing anything with Winnie as it will take away his focus from his residency. In his declaration of love for Winnie,

Dr. Baker goes to see Winnie later and they end up making a bet that Daniel is only interested in her for sex. Since he is so shallow (apparently he has a real reputation for that), he will drop her like a hot potato once he grows tired of her. If Winnie & Daniel can go eight weeks without sex, then the mom will give her blessing for them to date. WTH?

After Winnie tells Daniel of the bet, he is livid. He decides to confront Dr. Baker in the cafeteria. Dr. Baker proceeds to speak very loudly so all the cafeteria customers can hear and recounts the bet - now the entire town knows about the crazy bet between Winnie and her mom. Daniel basically shouts it in the cafeteria that he loves Dr. Baker's daughter - in front of everyone. There's one problem with this - he hasn't even told Winnie he loves her yet and now he has just announced it to the world. The entire town begins to put yard signs in their yards indicating if they are for "Team Daniel" or "Team Dr. Baker". Again, WTH?

Right after the 8 week period, Daniel proposes to Winnie in the hospital in front of everyone. Without his shirt on because a patient had just thrown up on him.

There are so many bizarre facts with this book - what town is going to put up signs for "Team Daniel" or "Team Dr. Baker"? Who will make a bet like that with their mother? Who fails the MCAT MULTIPLE times on purpose? This book seemed a little juvenile for my taste.

I was provided this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

Thanks so much to NetGalley for providing me with an eARC of this book for an honest review. As always, all opinions are my own.

This book follows Winnie, a thirty-one-year-old midwife and Daniel, a twenty-something resident, both working at a rural hospital. For Daniel, meeting Winnie is love at first sight. For Winnie, however, the feeling is not mutual. At least, not really. But when Winnie needs a date to her mentor's wedding, she decides to bite the bullet and invite Daniel, mostly in an effort to stave off her ex who will be there. As feelings begin to develop, Winnie and Daniel have to deal with Winnie's overprotective mother who seems to think Daniel isn't ready to settle down. They have to decide whether they will make it work, or prove her mother right.

So on the surface, this book sounds really interesting. I'm always down for a romance and I love a good medical/hospital setting, however, there was a lot about the execution of this book that just didn't work for me. Daniel was all in from day one and Winnie took longer to come around but I felt like there was very little chemistry beyond Daniel's attraction developed between the two characters. There was no real sense of time but they were jumping into the "I love yous" pretty quickly for the minimal development we got.

The writing itself wasn't terrible but I had a hard time following the story. There were a lot of subplots going on and setting up things for sequels but I just couldn't seem to grasp the main storyline. Because of this, it felt a little bit like there wasn't a lot of direction for the story and where the characters were going. And don't even get me started on the ending - I had a hard enough time getting on board with what I thought was the beginnings of their relationship.

Overall, I'm sure this book will appeal to many readers, however, I don't think I was one of those.
