Okay so I may have binged this book in an entire day/night (don't judge me) but I really couldn't put it down AT ALL. At first I struggled to get into it (first couple of pages) but I never give up on a good book so I picked it back up and carried on and I'm so glad I did.

Minnie Cooper has radiated bad luck for the majority of her life, starting from the moment she was born a minute too late to win £50,000 with the person who beat her, Quinn, even stealing her name. This story takes us through the lives of Minnie, and of Quinn, and shows all the times they just missed out on each other until they eventually find each other properly.

A story that I expected to be similar to One Day in December but really shone on its own two feet written very well.

"Life is change - if nothing is changing then you're not living" .

This Time Next Year is a feel good romantic comedy. Two babies born within one minute apart on New Years Eve meet by accident at a party on NYE. They get to talking and instantly click as friends.

Quinn and Minnie start to hang out from time to time. Minnie starts developing a crush on him but Quinn is a "man slut". Is it that he's not ready to settle down or he isn't interested in Minnie?

Minnie has her own demons. She needs to learn to love herself. Once she realizes this, she begins to grow.

I really loved this book. The only reason I am giving it four stars is because Minnie drove me crazy with her believing she was born unlucky. Not everyone's life is perfect. Eventually, she realizes this. If my opinion was based on Minnie's friend, Leila, it would be five stars for sure. I loved her character. I think every girl needs a Leila in her life.

Thank you Netgalley for giving menthe chance to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a heartwarming story!

After being born on the same day and having multiple near misses throughout the years Quinn and Minnie finally connect.

This is a lovely rom com you will not want to put down!

Thank you Netgalley for my copy!

Well, I didn't hate this book but I didn't love it either.

As we know from the blurb, Minnie and Quinn were born at the same hospital, on New Years Day just minutes apart. Unfortunately, Minnie has grown up knowing that she is unbelievably unlucky and that this is all down to Quinn Hamilton. The baby that was born just before her.

However, they bump into each other on their 30th birthdays and from then on fate seems to keep throwing them together.

I liked Minnie, Quinn and Leila. I couldn't stand Minnie's mother or how she appeared to have a total personality change about 3/4 into the book. No idea what that was all about.

And I couldn't see how or why Minnie was friends out of work with any of the people working for her.

The story was predictable and the ending was all a bit too rushed and tidy for my liking.

Minnie Cooper (yes, like the car) knows two things with great certainty: her New Year's birthday has always been unlucky, and that it's all because of Quinn Hamilton. Has she ever met him? No. Will she blame him for everything that goes wrong in her life? Yes. Minnie and Quinn were born at the same hospital just minutes apart on New Year's Day thirty years ago. When they unexpectedly run into each other on their thirtieth birthday, things start to change. Even though they're from completely different worlds, their similar stories bring them closer. Will this year be the luckiest yet?
This book completely surprised me. I thought it would be a typical cheesy romance, but I didn't expect to fall in love with the characters as much as I did. Minnie is incredibly loveable and truly comes alive in each chapter. With a relatable relationship with her parents, it's hard not to adore her and cheer her on after each unfortunate incident. Quinn's fear of commitment I found initially off-putting, but as his story progresses and we begin to understand his life isn't as easy as it seems, the pieces start fitting together to show us how perfect he and Minnie are for each other.

Not only are Minnie and Quinn a charming couple, the main theme I took from this book was strong friendships. Minnie's friends are an odd group you typically wouldn't put together, but Cousens did a fantastic job of bringing the best qualities out in each of them while still being truthful to their different personalities. There wasn't one character that I didn't like, and that includes Minnie's ex-boyfriend.

The flashbacks that take place throughout the book are almost frustrating simply because they show us exactly how many times Minnie and Quinn have crossed paths. And unless I'm mistaken, they once shared a New Years kiss back in their teens, bringing their relationship to a full circle; I found it incredibly sweet.

Full of wit, charm and an engrossing plot, This Time Next Year isn't one to miss.

Absolutely gorgeous story! Very original and so heart warming. Although I felt the second half of the year was slightly rushed, I couldn't put it down. Such a romantic ending too.

As I finish reading this book, I can’t help but smile from ear to ear. Such a great, light, romantic little novel. I loved Minnie and the way her parents developed over the story. They really grew to support her dreams and change her outlook on life. I loved Quinn, though I hate when the leading man is super rich. It’s so unrealistic. Or at least it is to me, I never found the gorgeous millionaire to sweep me off my feet. Anyway, this was a fun chick lit story about Minnie and Quinn and how their births led them to each other over and over through the years.

Really enjoyed this book - a tale of two babies born on the same day whose lives involve a number of near misses till fate finally allows them to meet and explore each other’s story......feel good and heartwarming.

I loved this story. The star crosses and near misses and lives intertwined before ultimately impacting on each other. Quinn and Minnie who were born within a minute of each other and that moment impacting on them and their mothers. Beautifully written and really enjoyable.

I absolutely adored this book, and truly struggled to put it down. It tells the story of Minnie and Quinn whos lives are inextricably linked, despite them only first meeting on their shared 30th birthday. The story takes us through their lives in present day and past anecdotes, where we soon realise that this story is so much larger than the strange pull that they both have towards each other. I loved the female friendships explored in this book, and there were certainly a few tear shedding moments when it came to these friendships. It highlights the difference in class and upbringing, in an interesting an inquisitive way - slowly chipping away at the classic facade that anyone who was brought up with money automatically has a better life. Whilst some elements could be seen as predictable, the way in which they were delivered made them feel fresh and certainly had me hooked. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and will be recommending it to a lot of my close friends.

This was such a cute book. It is hard for me to really get into romcom books because they are just too cringey for me. However, this one was great. The characters were likable. The story was cute. I would definitely recommend.

This Time Next Year completely stole my heart and easily became one of my top five favorite books of all time. The story centers around Minnie Cooper and Quinn Hamilton. They were both born on New Years Day 1990 at the same hospital, and on their thirtieth birthday they end up meeting by chance.
Minnie’s mom has long told the story of how Quinn Hamilton’s mom stole the name “Quinn” and is convinced that they stole Minnie’s luck with it. When Minnie finally meets the successful Quinn, she is sure that her mom had been right. They continue to run into each other and have frustrating interactions that somehow just make her want to see him more.
The book goes back and forth between present day and all the times their paths came so close to crossing through the years.
I came into this book thinking it would be a sweet and simple love story. It was so much more than that! The main characters were so well developed and had such depth. I wish I could give 6 stars!

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read the ARC.

This was a beautifully funny romance novel about finding yourself and finding love - and how you don’t have too sacrifice to do so! Minnie and Quinn have met before they were even born - and star crosses from that moment on. Sophie Cousens created characters who are flawed but working hard to be better people for themselves and for others. It makes for an enjoyable uplighting read with a ton of laugh out loud moments.

What if you were meant to be someone else? A more confident, lucky and positive version of you?
In #thistimenextyear, a man, Quinn (who believes you make your own luck) and a woman, Minnie (the unluckiest person ever) were born within minutes of each-other on New Years Day, and meet on their thirtieth birthday. They discover that there have been many times over the past thirty years where their paths have crossed, or almost crossed.

#Sophiecousens has written a wonderful love story about near misses and second chances. Her characterisation details are great. I especially loved Leila (Minnie's best friend) and her confidence and swagger, completely opposite Minnie, and Fleur (one of Minnie's employees).
This was a lovely feelgood story about family, friendship and loving yourself.

I loved the clever concept of this book, and the characters were very interesting and easy to like.
I liked how you assume something about a character and then find out their life isn’t as you expect it.
It was entertaining seeing how Quinn and Minnies lives crossed unnoticed throughout the years.
It was fabulous to see Minnies friends continue to support her all throughout the book, and how her relationship with her mum improves too.
Definitely a feel good book that was enjoyable and entertaining to read.

I loved this book. It reminded me a lot of The Flatshare. I love that it had depth to it, but was also light at the same time. The dialogue was witty and sharp. I also loved the characters. I highly recommend!

Thank you NetGalley and Arrow for the advanced copy of this book.

I absolutely loved this book. It was such a wonderful, heart-warming read, and I couldn't put it down. Missed chances are some of my favourite novels to read, and combining that with two characters who had to really find themselves was a perfect combination.

I loved Minnie and Quinn, their back stories and the times that their lives crossed without them knowing. The storyline flowed really well, and the flashbacks weren't at all disruptive like they can be at times. It had me on an emotional rollercoaster and one that I would very much dive back into!

This is Minnie and Quinn's story. They meet in New Year's Eve. The night of their birthdays. Both their mothers gave birth the same night, in the same hospital. But their lives couldn't be more different. Or that's what Minnie thinks. According to her, Quinn's life has been easier because he belongs to a wealthy family.
It's when they start to spend some time together that she realises that people have different dramas in their lives, but all of them are important.
The book is OK. Although I found it really slow. Some characters are really crazy but they made me laugh.

I liked the premise of this book!
Books that go between story lines and years are bit hard, but all liked message vulnerability and doing things that scare you, friends and family and the things that bond us together.
Conclusion was well done!
