Pray Everyday is a a terrific book of guided prayer. Spanning the course of an entire year, Mary DeMuth uses scripture to guide you through daily prayers that will help bring you closer to the Father and enrich your prayer life. If you like having structure to help guide you in praying, this book is a terrific choice for you. I wish I could have had such a resource much earlier in my life.
#Pray Every Day# by Mary DeMuth is a 90 day devotional. Mary is an author and a speaker. She has Pray every d#Pay recorded on her website. This book has 90 days of prayers in the Bible . Mary has personalized the prayers. She explains the passage. Then she applies it to our lives. At the end she has a prayer. This devotional is short and practical. It brings God's word home to our every day lives.
Thank you to netgalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this book. I will post m, y review on facebook, Bookbub, my blog, with church staff, Goodreads, Amazon.
Mary DeMuth's book follows the typical format for prayer books (Scripture, a lesson, followed by a prayer) as she works her way through the Bible.
A gentle reminder of the many reasons and ways to pray.
My thanks to NetGalley and Harvest House Publishing for allowing me to read a copy of the book in exchange for an unbiased review.
A very well organized devotional. A little something for everyone. I highly recommend this book. I received an arc from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.
Thank you to Harvest House Publishers and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book.
I haven't finished this book yet; however, I wanted to give some feedback nonetheless. Each chapter is short (making it something that could easily be added to your morning routine.) The book moves through the Bible and includes a variety of prayer topics. I wouldn't say her book is anything new but it would appeal to someone looking for a strong theological devotional.
Mary is a writing machine. She has an extensive list of titles, Pray Everyday is another wonderful work of art from this author. Treat yourself today and grab a copy.
I will preface my review with this: I do not identify as a religious person. However, I believe all beings are inherently spiritual in some regard, and on my spiritual journey I have always been intrigued by the power of prayer. I personally did not gain much from the messaging in the book, but I enjoyed the authors writing and appreciated the breakdown of themes from the bible. The passage lengths were short and sweet, and I imagine this book would be a lovely daily devotional for someone in touch with their devotion to Christ. My review and rating is based on what the book purports to be, not on my enjoyment.
Pray Every Day is a wonderful devotional book. I love how Mary DeMuth incorporates both a scripture verse into each day, along with some great personal insights and reflections. Mary DeMuth has a popular podcast Pray Every Day, which I have enjoyed in the past. This devotional is a 90 day overview of timeless prayers that she also continues to unpack with her own insights. Pray Every Day explores what Scripture says and answers the most common questions about prayer. Through daily Bible readings and prayer prompts you will…
be encouraged when you encounter a God faithful to his people and who fulfills his promises
come to a better understanding of who God really is as you grow closer to him in your personal study and worship experience humble gratitude as you watch how God unfolds his plan in your life.
If you need to be encouraged in your prayer life or want a daily devotional that focuses on prayer using stories and examples from the Bible, I suggest picking up "Pray Every Day" by Mary E. DeMuth. It's not a study that will take up a huge amount of time, it can be a simple devotional for as little as 10-15 mins in the morning. Mary starts out each day with a passage of Scripture and then a brief review/devotional/reflection on that certain aspect of prayer in the Bible. While it's brief, it's packed with encouragement and a suggested prayer to lift up to God at the end. I only wish it was more of an in-depth study, but this is perfect for someone who wants a morning devotional that is simple and pure in its intent. I will be buying this for gifts!
