A SEASON FOR SIN is meant to introduce the Sinful Scoundrels and entice readers to look forward to this new series. Dreiling does it well, but readers should know that this novella does not have a solid conclusion. It will continue on in the first book of the series, which makes up for the fact that this novella ended rather abruptly.

However, Dreiling crafts an intriguing hero in Bell. So used to having his way, Bell must now loosen the grip he has on life and let fate take him where it wants it. Bell doesn't fight too much because once he sets his eyes on widow, Laura Davenport, he sees the allure of having someone like her at his side.

The short novella about the friendship between Bell and the two boys-who-think-they're-men is laugh out loud funny. The attraction between hero and heroine is intriguing, and may leave the unsuspecting reader disappointed by the ending.
