As always another amazing book by Kerrelyn, loved everything about the flow, plot and characters would certainly recomend.
In this captivating installment, Maeve and Brody's tale takes center stage. Brody, a shapeshifter mostly bound to animal forms, shines as we delve into his backstory, while Maeve grapples with feelings of alienation due to her limited powers and her sisters' royal unions. A perfect blend of humor, romance, and intrigue, this book introduces fresh antagonists like the Sea Witch and The Chameleon. For fans of "HOW TO LOVE YOUR ELF", this is a must-read, promising heartwarming moments amidst high-stakes adventure. Delightfully immersive!
I really tried with this book, but It was not for me. I did not like the characters and I found their choices implausible. DNFed aftter 15%

This was a lot of fun, I wish I had read it sooner. There def need to be more water-based fantasy novels, I think I might have found a new favorite setting.
I liked the characters and flew through this book.
Those who know me, know that I used to read only paranormal or sci-fi books, contemporary ones ere for school only (you know how it is), and now it's the other way around, I read much more thrillers and contemporary books (so the balance is kept)
I only read this book in this series and the previous one, but I find those books well written as standalone ones, I managed to keep up with the main plot with no concern on my side, which means a lot.
Maeve and Brody's are bittersweet in some points as they are mostly apart during this story, but their relationship grew inside of them after they met. I liked this it was something new, something unexpected here. There are some twists and turns that are to be expected, but some are really unexpected and those will make your mind blow.
How will Maeve and Brody survive some deadly things thrown at them, and when emotions will be overbearing in this one?
This story reads fast and it's delightful.
I enjoyed this, but didn’t realise it was part of a series, I will definitely be going back to read the rest! I felt engaged and that the characters were very well developed, I also loved the world building and thought aspects of this were very clever.
I love Kerrelyn sparks. This series is great and I’m going to buy the next one right now. Wish the cover was different however.
I hadn’t read the original series so found this difficult to get in to. I will go back and start at the beginning. The other reviews I read have convinced me it’s worth trying. Enjoyed the style of writing.
M thanks to netgalley
I have always enjoyed Kerrelyn Sparks worlds, and with this series, she has hit another home run! The Embraced by Magic series started with How to Love Your Elf. "Raised in isolation on the magic-shrouded Isle of the Moon, five girls became five sisters. Now women, they are ready to claim their places in the world—and perhaps change it forever..." As you follow each sister and the path that leads her to love, you meet amazing characters and go on adventures. I highly recommend this series to readers who love Romance set within a Fantasy Realm.
Brody and Maeve—- I fell in love with these characters! I love going back to their workd and seeing what they are up to and everyone in it! This is a great series!
It was ..... alright? I vaguely remember the plot and the characters, While incredibly unique I think it might have been too convoluted to easily fall in love with. Not what I expected.
This is the last in The Embraced series by the wonderful Kerrelyn Sparks. If you want a series with beautiful artistry and world building and lots of romance, this is the series for you! That being said I don't think this story makes a great standalone novel. Sparks is a magnificent author, but her skills are in building a world over the course of a series. Each story in this series centers around a different girl, but think of each story as a building block and The Siren and the Deep Blue Sea is the last block at the top of a glorious castle. This is the final happy ending to a superb series.
This is actually the book I had been most looking forward to since the first mention of Brody and Maeve. Brody had always been a side character and a mysterious one at that, He's an animal shifter that's been cursed to only access his human body for a maximum of two hours a day and Maeve is the youngest "orphan" who can seemingly only turn into a seal. While Maeve has always seemed lack luster and naive in her envy towards her married sisters, she was also a character with a lot of potential. Without giving too much away Sparks did another great job in giving her readers a swoon worthy story!
Solid 3 stars
A great addition to the Embraced series! I love the mix of humor, romance, steam and silliness that you can find in Kerryn Sparks' books. After I finish reading them I'm left with a goofy smile on my face and this one was no exception! The overarching plot also concludes in this one(no spoilers) and I was glad to meet all the couples again! Maeve and Brody made a really good pair! And it looks there might be a spin-off series following the next generation so I'm very excited for that one as well!
I tried really hard to get into this book and it's completely possible it was just my mindset at the time. I liked the previous books in the series. I can see myself enjoying The Siren and the Deep Blue Sea at a later date but right now, it just wasn't for me.
I’m a fan of Kerrelyn Sparks books. When I requested this book I didn’t know it was part of a series. It left me lost and confused. I will have to find access to the previous books for it to make sense.
Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this book.
Unlike what netGalley led me to believe, this is part of a series, and it's not one where you can pick it up in the middle. You need to follow the series from the beginning.
In the final Embraced novel, we finally learn what Luciano’s prediction for Maeve really means.
Maeve has become bored of her life of leisure and the lack of adventure. When she learns about an evil army of Embraced soldiers, she decides to head back to the Isle of Mist and ask the Seer if he has any valuable information that will help locate them, and Brody (her crush) Her visit to the Seer doesn’t go as she expected, but she doesn’t give up. She continues her search for the Embraced. On this search she finds her mother and the adventure she was looking for.
This was a wonderful finale. It was great to read about Maeve and Brody and to see more about their powers. It had a great ending with a lot of happy characters.
This was another fun and quick read by Kerrelyn Sparks, but I have to say that I didn't enjoy this installment of the Embraced series as much as some of the others.
Another Great book by Kerrelyn Sparks! I love how she makes you part of the book by getting me emotionally involved with her characters. Reason why she is one of my favorite authors! Love this new series!
The Siren and the Deep Blue Sea (Embraced by Magic #5). By Kerrelyn Sparks. 2020. Kensington (ARC eBook).
The Siren and the Deep Blue Sea unfolds the truth of Maeve's and Brody’s origins. Maeve has been feeling adrift now that her four sisters have married and the man she has loved from afar has disappeared in his search for the remaining Circle of Five. But as she tasks herself with researching a long secret island rumored to be hiding a magically Embraced army, she is put into the sights of the powerful Sea Witch.
Brody has been tirelessly spying for his friends, but when he learns Maeve may be in danger, he’ll do everything possible to keep her safe. But cursed as he is, could he ever possibly be able to offer Maeve their own happily ever after?
Brody and Maeve’s story is the first story I’ve read in Sparks’ Embraced world and the two were really likable characters that were easy to root for. Their romance is sweet. Overall an enchanting story with great worldbuilding and interesting embraced abilities. I definitely plan to read the earlier books.
