Reading Wednesday Walks & Wags felt like visiting old friends. I already got to know most of the characters in the first book of this series, The Sunday Potluck Club by Melissa Storm. That made it easy to dive right into the story and start rooting for Bridget, the youngest member of the group. I felt like her relationship with Wesley developed on a more realistic timeline than that of Amy and Trent in the first book. I will definitely be watching for the next book in this series for another visit with old friends. Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Another delightful visit with the women of the Sunday Potluck Club. I love that this group of women continue to support each other after all of their parent's deaths. This is more romance than the previous book with Hazel's wedding coming up and Amy & Bridget having possible beaus. The animals are always adorable and great characters in their own rights. A really good look at how grief is dealt with differently by everybody and you have to go at your own pace. I love journeying through mainly Bridget's life so far. Looking forward to seeing more of the other women's journeys in future books.
I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher and voluntarily chose to review it.

I really enjoyed Wednesday Walks & Wags. Being a huge animal lover myself, I was drawn by the title and cover. But once I started reading, I was captivated by Bridget and Wesley's slow burn romance. This book is a beautiful story of love, life, loss, grief, forgiveness, and friendship. And I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed The Sunday Potluck Club so when I saw there was a book two I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

Wednesday Walks & Wags is Bridget's story and is centered around her working through the emotions after the death of her mother. Bridget works full time as a trainee vet, volunteers at an animal shelter and is a member of the Sunday pot luck club along with her three friends, Amy, Hazel and Nichole - who met while taking each of their parents for chemotherapy in Anchorage, Alaska. But Bridget is always running, trying to avoid feeling and stretching herself too thin by taking too much on. Bridget has just moved into a pet friendly apartment along with her three dogs and meets her new neighbor, Wesley. He too seems to be running from something .. (I don't want to give anything away)

I adore these four women and their friendship. Always willing to drop everything and be a sounding board ... a truly incredible support system.

I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to what's next ...

Huge thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for my review copy.

Bridget's struggling after the death of her mom but she's got a new apartment, her job at a vet's office, her dogs, peppermint ice cream, and her friends. And now, she's made a new friend in Wesley, a nice looking neighbor with two dogs. They start running together and establish a strong friendship. All's going well until Wesley joins her friends and their love interests for a pot luck dinner and Bridget learns that Wesley has a secret, one he's reluctant to fully explain even after she knows the outlines. This is the second in the series but it will be fine as a standalone because it's really Bridget's story. She has some decisions to make- does she keep working as a vet tech, does she push for romance with Wesley, and so on. Know that it's clean romance with good characters. Those who read the first novel might remember that Bridget came off as immature albeit age appropriate. She's grown up. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. It's a pleasant read and don't miss the recipes!

Life-changing moments. Core group of friends. Neighbors and dogs. Lots to enjoy and savor. Enjoyed seeing the personal growth of the two main characters.

The second book in the Sunday Potluck Club series focuses on Bridget, the youngest friend who recently lost her mother to breast cancer. She is not dealing well with grief and keeping busy to ignore it when she meets Wesley who also seems to be quite literally running from something.

These books to me are mostly women’s fiction with romance thrown in, and I love to see the women’s growth. After reading The Sunday Potluck Club and meeting the four friends who came together while caring for their cancer stricken parents, the most intriguing character to me was Bridget. She is lost and surviving by keeping busy and ignoring her emotions. This is a story about dealing with grief, loss and also forgiveness. Wesley was a great character and the conflict was definitely unique - I thought it was so well done! The author’s love for animals truly comes through in Bridget’s character and I’m a sucker for any book with dogs!! And the ending was so satisfying. Can’t wait for the next friend’s story!

Thank you to @kensigntonbooks and @netgalley for the gifted ebook in exchange for my honest review! ♥️

Can two broken souls, grieving for their past help each other find happiness, love and joy to life again? A heartwarming story about second chances, friendship, family and love. Bridget and Wesley will fill your heart with their interactions and how they fight their own demons together. Great book.

This book is the second in The Sunday Potluck Club series, and focuses on Bridget’s story.

Bridget is still struggling with her Mom’s death, while working toward a veterinary degree. She keeps busy by volunteering time at the local animal shelter as well. When Bridget moves to a new apartment, one of the advertised amenities is a dog walking club, but as it turns out, the club is defunct. Bridget meets a neighbor, Wesley, who runs every night with his dogs, and he reluctantly agrees to let her join.

This daily event is where their story begins. I don’t do spoilers, but will admit this is a sweet book with a HEA ending. I think this is a great series and encourage you to give it a try!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

This is the second book in the Sunday Night Potluck Club book and I actually liked this book more than the first one.

If you haven’t read the first book, you could read this as a stand alone but you’d want to know the story. These books are about a group of women who became best friends after meeting in the hospital. All of them had a parent with cancer. They decided to meet once a week and formed a dinner club.

This book is Bridget’s story. I understood Bridget more than Amy from the previous book. Bridget is a huge animal lover. By day she works at a vet’s office. She also volunteers time at an animal shelter. She loves animals so much that fulfilling her dream of being a vet might not actually be the best thing for her. She learns this after her boss shares her concerns after Bridget offers to pay for a patient’s very expensive medicine for her cat because she can’t bear the idea of the cat being put down.
I get Bridget. I used to want to be a vet too, until the day I realized that you can’t save them all. When this starts to sink in with Bridget, it scares her that she might not have the right plan with vet school.

She’s still struggling with her sadness about losing her mom too. She meets a mysterious new guy at her pet friendly apartment complex. They try to keep each other at a distance but she starts to really value their walks together.

My minor criticism of the first book was that they never talked about the food. But that’s not the case here. They actually referred to the foods they cooked, the new guy likes cooking, and a few extra recipes were included at the end of the book.

I love the support system these characters have. I love how they show up for each other.

I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley. Thanks!

When I started reading this book I didn’t know it was a sequel. I haven’t read the first in this series, but still felt like I could understand everything that happened without having read the first book.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and the plot of the book. It was a nice romance to read. I loved the friendships in this book and the way it dealt with how you can experience grief in your own way. Although there was some parts of the book I didn’t like as much, some of the choices Bridget made just annoyed me.

But all in all, it was a fast read and I loved that it had short chapters. It was a good book and I might pick up the first one in this series at some point.

The biggest strength of this book is that it has multiple three-dimensional characters, a whole cast that feels real and drives the story. It is well written and detailed and the development of the relationship—starting from strangers to reluctant friends to more—feels natural. Where I am a bit stuck on this book, is that I felt there was a lot going on, lots of emotions, feelings, people, all well conveyed and developed, but a lot. I felt that the book lacked a clear focus, hence I lost focus as a reader. Perhaps I would enjoy it more when I am in the right mindset (maybe on vacation with few distractions?), but it was not a book that grasped me.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Could I love this story any more?! I'm a huge diehard Melissa Storm fan but even if I wasn't (but I totally am!!) I still would've loved this story. I actually loved it more than the first one in the series.

Thank you to the publisher for the e-ARC

I actually didn't realize this was a sequel until after I got accepted for the ARC. Book one is The Sunday Potluck Club. I listened to the audio of book one just so I could read this one. You probably could get away with reading this one without reading book 1, you just won't know the other characters as well.

I read this because the main character is a Veterinary Technician which is what I do for a living. The second we have Bridget working as a Vet Tech it's very obvious that the author doesn't know much about the field. And of course she's going to school to be a Veterinarian. Because nobody can be just a vet tech *insert extreme eye roll.* I'm probably being pretty but I dropped a star for the vet tech aspects of the book.

The romance was good, the issues the main character deals with are interesting. I really did like the job, just not when anything inside the Veterinary clinic was happening.

Get a box of tissues before you start Wednesday Walks and Wags by Melissa Storm because you're going to need them! This book is number two in The Sunday Potluck Club Series and brings out all the feels. I was reading through my tears. I already have vision problems and that was a challenge. A challenge that was worth taking.

This book follows Bridget. I wasn't sure I was going to like it because Bridget was the friend with all the dogs who was a complete mess all the way around. Melissa proved me wrong. This book was so heartwarming and we get to go on the rollercoaster ride through her recovery process.

I have to admit, I fell in love with Bridget and her friends all over again. This book was so good y'all! There is a book three coming in the not too distant future. So, run out and get this one and read it so you're ready for Manic Monday, INC. If you haven't read the first two yet, HURRY UP! You don't know what your missing.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley for a fair and honest review.

Wednesday Walk & Wags offers emotions ranging from heart-aching sadness to the swell of happiness that makes your chest full. I enjoyed the characters, mostly the diversity in personalities that we often have in our own personal lives, gives them a relatable aspect for readers. I found the dogs very significant, because they weren't just an accessory to the characters but emotional comfort during their hard times. Bridget is still wading through her pain of loss, and slowly finds healthier coping methods, that soon offer her the closure she needs to continue her life. Although Bridget was alive, she wasn't living, but throughout the book we find her starting her life again. Bridget finds comfort in a new mysterious friend, Wesley. Wesley, and his two dogs stumble into Bridget life becoming the catalyst to the healing of Bridget's loss. I wish the characters had more depth than the once stated facts given, I liked Wesley but we didn't get anymore depth to emotionally connect with his character. We only got Bridget who even felt like she was holding back, which as a reader I found hard to relate to. The fire didn't start until the end, so it was difficult to burn through the book. Despite the minor negatives, I would recommend the book because it was a feel good book that still offered a slice of life plot. If you want to be left with a smile and chest of contentful happiness definitely give Wednesday Walk & Wags a read.

I was fortunate enough to read Wednesday Walks & Wags by Melissa Storm, an ARC from Netgalley. This book is available August 25, 2020.

**Thank you net galley and the publisher for an e arc of this book.**

Though this is my first book by this author who is new to me, i definitely enjoyed this book. It had the mix of family, friendship, and dogs of course with a hint of romance and a bit of drama. Also each characters have their own special connection with one another that proves that the bonds with family is strong and the friendship made is strong as well. This is one of those books that if you’re interested in, it’ll be a good pick up for you.

A wonderful addition to the series and perfect for some friends of mine. A truly enjoyable reading touching on the themes of love and friendship

I haven’t read the other books in this series so I was jumping right in as Bridget moves into a new apartment with three dogs. She is having a very hard time getting over the death of her mother, but gains comfort from her friendship with the three other women she met in the cancer ward while waiting for her mother to die.

It’s as if there is a heavy veil of grief hanging over the whole novel. Bridget starts out almost paralyzed by her mourning. She is having trouble at her job working as a vet tech when there are dogs who have to be put down. She is in overdrive at her volunteer work at an animal shelter. She ended up adopting two dogs from there in an effort to get all the dogs adopted. Somehow, it doesn’t seem right to keep three dogs penned up all day in an apartment.

Her only light is the jogging she does with her mysterious neighbor, Wesley, who has two big dogs in a tiny apartment. Then she finds out Wesley’s sad secret and has to decide whether to forgive him from hiding it from her.

I just found it hard to warm up to any of these characters. And I kept thinking about those poor dogs stuck in their apartments.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
