Sent: Living a Life That Invites Others to Jesus is very well-written, relatable, informative, readable and inspiring. This couple (the book is co-written with Heather's husband Ashley) actively lives their beliefs every day, and they challenge other Christians to do the same. Doing so offers unlimited opportunities to spread the good news of Jesus, which He asked the first (and all) Christians to do. As someone who has struggled with the thought of evangelism due to shyness, the Hollemans gave me a new perspective and sense of calm about it by sharing their experiences, including Scriptural references, offering a multitude of practical ideas on how to seek out and be aware of new relationship opportunities, and how to let yourself be open to God using you to advance His work.

The authors remind us that God chose to put us in exactly this time and this place for a reason, and that it is our responsibility to bloom where we are planted. Quite an uplifting read!

My thanks to NetGalley and Moody Publishers for allowing me to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Thank you for the advanced copy in exchange for a review.

In June 2020 we are not only in the middle of a covid19 pandemic, which in the UK alone has killed in excess of 40,000 people and we have protests, long overdue concerning black lives. The treatment they face by Police alone is utterly unforgiveable. As a Catholic woman I found this book at the right time, it is harder currently to turn to God when everything around us feels destroyed.

The authors have written a very strong book based on 3 pillars of leading a sent life; God is always working to bring people to himself, God uses us to lead others to him, God invites us into the work of evangelism
I worked through the book on my own but I could quickly see how this would work during group settings - bible study etc.

I enjoyed reading this and working through it and would highly recommend especially given the current struggles we are facing.

Humanity is currently living in difficult times, However, we are also living if unique times, especially for Christians. We are in a unique position to lead our Christin lives, showing God’s love to those around us. In this book, the authors, Heather and Ashley Holleman issue a rallying call to lead our lives as sent - sent by God to those in whom we come into daily contact with. Those in our neighbourhoods, streets, offices, schools, and workplaces. They state the three pillars of leading a Sent Life as being

God is always working to bring people to himself
God uses people (us) to lead others to him
God invites us into the work of evangelism

Invites us right where we are, right now, right in this place. The book acts as both a rallying cry and a road map, to seek a deeper relationship with God and to seek relationships with others. From these relationships will grow a longing and a willingness to share God with others.

The authors are skilled writers, who have a genuine love for God and for seeing others come to a personal relationship with him. This book reflects that in every page. There are exercises at the end of the chapters which you are encouraged to carry out. Both the book and the exercises are bible driven and rooted in scripture, as well as prayer, at every stage. The book is designed that you can work through it as an individual or small group.

This is a book which every Christian should read, it will transform your approach to Christianity and to evangelism..
