His Pretend Amish Bride is the second book in Rachel J. Good's Unexpected Amish Blessings series, and can easily be read as a standalone. The story follows Priscilla Ebersol, a kindhearted and feisty special needs teacher who is looking forward to marrying her boyfriend - that is until his humiliating betrayal ruins her reputation and threatens her job, and Gabriel Kauffman, a shy camel farmer who has just moved into the community. Priscilla has done research on the benefits of camel milk for autistic children and decides to go to Gabe's farm to purchase some for her autistic brother. There's an immediate connection between the two and they become great friends. But what Priscilla doesn't know is that Gabe's past is haunting him, and as their friendship develops into something more, he starts pulling away from her. Will he find the courage to tell her about his past? And more importantly, can he overcome it and have a future with her?
This was a very sweet and uplifting read, with a wonderful love story and believable characters. The strong chemistry between Gabe and Priscilla combined with a touch of mystery will keep readers engaged until the last page. I liked the message of trusting God for the next step. We need to pray and be patient for things only happen in His timing, not ours. This story also shows us how damaging gossip can be, especially when we don't have all the facts. I really liked Alyssa's storyline as well and thought it was very inspiring. Overall, this was a lovely story of faith, forgiveness, and love. I highly recommend it and look forward to the third book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a fun book to read. It read quickly and yet slowly at the same time. Meaning that I loved reading the book but I didn't devour it all in one sitting. It's actually a thicker book than you'd think.
I read the first chapter of this book as a preview in the back of the first book of the series and I couldn't wait to read it. After all, who's ever heard of an Amish camel farmer who sells the camel milk? And honestly, I'd never heard of drinking camel milk so I wanted to learn more.
Priscilla is a wonderful loyal Amish girl who has her heartbroken by her boyfriend who she thought she'd marry. He gets caught in a compromising position by the bishop. Only it wasn't her he was with. Yet he lets everyone believe it was her. She's humiliated and in danger of losing her job teaching special needs children. What can she do?
She won't confess before the church because she did nothing wrong yet she also won't tell everyone that she wasn't the girl with him.
Add in Priscilla falling for the handsome camel farmer and things get going. But then also add in a power English couple stealing from him and trying to take over his business with any means necessary. Oh, and did I mention that Gabriel hates talking to people and often gets tongue-tied?
You're going to love this book. It's a great read I highly recommend and I can't wait for the third book that I got to read a sneak peek preview of.

This is the second book in the series, Unexpected Amish Blessings, written by Rachel Good, but is written so that it can be a stand-alone read.
We find Priscilla Ebersol, a fine, upstanding woman who works with special needs children in her community, finding herself the subject of “mistaken identity” because of her boyfriend, but yet chooses to not reveal this mistake so as not to hurt his chances of keeping his job and hurting his mother. Priscilla meets a new man in the Amish community, Gabriel Kauffman, a camel farm owner. She has done much research regarding autism, of which her brother is a victim, and visits the farm to purchase milk to see if it will help her brother.
As their friendship develops, they both are able to help each other move past prior relationships, however, many surprises ensue along the way. Faith, love, and acceptance play out in interesting ways.
I enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a quick-read, sweet romance book. I received a copy of this book from Kensington Books and NetGalley. All opinions are my own and was under no obligation to post a review.
Amish and camels....who would have imagined??!!! Well, Gabriel Kauffman did and the benefits of camel milk for the autistic community was realized by Pricilla Ebersol. This book brings to light the fact that no discovery is ever too small, to benefit and no matter how unusual, someone may benefit. Pricilla's brother has shown that he benefits from the camel milk and so her relationship with the camel farmer begins....on a very unusual note.....she pretends to be Gabriel's wife!!! This "relationship" has it's ups and downs and the journey is one that is fun to follow. An excellent read with great character development and an unusual plot line. I enjoyed it from beginning to end!!
This is the second book in this series that I have read, but it really can be read alone. We meet the characters from the previous but information is given.
This is a sweet story of people really living their faith, and actually touching the lives of others to bring them closer to God.
We see both of the main characters with a heart for children and wanting to do all they can to help. We also see the greed of some who don't care whom they hurt.
I enjoyed reading how this all played out, and throw in a little very sweet romance, and this is one enjoyable read!
I received this book through the Publisher Kensington Books and was not required to give a positive review.
I completely enjoyed this book. It kept me reading through the night. It has a good mix of slight drama and romance. I would defiantly recomend this book, it's an easy comforting read.
This is book two in Unexpected Amish Blessings series. Priscilla Ebersol is an Amish teacher in Bird In Hand, Pa. She teaches special needs children. Gabe Kauffman has a camel farm where he raises camels and then sells the milk.
One day Priscilla gets news that her boyfriend has been lying to her and keeping a secret from her. She is very hurt from the news she receives. Priscilla visits Gabe's farm to purchase camel's mil for her brother who has autism. As time goes on and as Priscilla keeps going to Gabe's store they find themselves spending more time together. Although they are both holding secrets. Will it draw them closer or apart?
I really enjoyed this well written story. I have to say this series is one of my favorites. If I could give more than five stars I would. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
The Unexpected Amish Blessings series continues in this heart-warming story. Priscilla's love for the Amish special school and helping these children along with her autistic brother is commending. I love all the information about the camels and how their milk may help with autism and many other things. I love that the characters have flaws in which people can relate with. Will be excited to read the next installment. Recommended!
Wow! You are in for a treat from Rachel Good. His Pretend Amish Bride, takes place in Bird n Hand Pa. If you have been or know the area there is a real Camel Farm there and it is here, where you will learn and spend your time with Priscilla Ebersol and Gabe.
What makes this book stand out from others? Is the research the facts all woven together to bring a wonderful story with Gods blessings. I truly am at a loss of words to express how I continue to be so impressed with the writings by Rachel Good.

As the story opens Priscilla Ebersol is a teacher for special needs children in a Amish school. Her beau has been caught in the arms of a girl who the community believes is Priscella. She is keeping quiet about who was with Matthew as he asked even though she is very hurt by his actions. She hopes Matthew will tell the bishop the truth, and he doesn't tell the whole story. She meets Gabe a camel farmer when she goes to buy camel milk for her autistic brother. Game and Priscilla become close as she helps him with his store and the publicity of his store as Gabe is uncomfortable speaking to people he doesn't know. As time passes problems arise with a publisher trying to cheat him and sell him the farm. She is unlike many women in Amish books as she is outspoken in sticking up for Gabe as she has become to care about him.. It seems baggaGe cares also but he backs away and puts distance in their friendship. What will happen with Gabes farm ? Why is he backing away ? What are the secrets ? Will love make them be the perfect couple? Read this book and have your questions answered. A Thank you Net Galley for letting me read and review this book.
This book so reminded me of my own relationship with my husband! It was an amazing story of love and waiting on The Lord! It was also a story of trusting in The Lord and waiting on His promises to always be with us and never leave us or forsake us!
In this well-written page turner, we meet Priscilla Ebersol and Gabriel Kauffman. Right away we find out the predicament Priscilla finds herself in, but Gabe? From their first encounter at his camel farm they are attracted to each other but, Gabe keeps telling himself he made a promise.
What promise? To who? What of Priscilla’s predicament? Can she ever trust another man?
Gabe and Priscilla have very different personalities. She’s a school teacher and used to speaking to groups of people. He’s a quiet camel farmer, keeps to himself, and can’t seem to speak up for himself.
Read this story of judgement, forgiveness, overcoming obstacles and learning to trust and love again. You’ll be glad you did. Thank you Rachel Good for allowing me to read Gabe and Priscilla’s story!!!
His Pretend Amish Bride is a faith-filled Amish romance. The characters are so well develooped and the plot is well thought out and interesting. I am an Amish fiction fan and Rachel Good is a favorite author. I highly recommend this book
An entertaining and well written inspirational romance. Well developed plot and characters. Rachel Good has delivered another great read.
I loved this book! There were no boring moments or parts to "skim" over quickly. It's a fast moving book! I wanted to read every word. It started out great and kept on going. I loved the characters and their interactions.
There is a little mystery, and some bad guys and of course, good guys! Both Priscilla and Gabe have issues from their past to work through and deal with. Matthew had given Priscilla hope of a happy future together but causes her some shocks that she would never have expected.
Gabe is the owner of a new camel farm producing both camel milk and cow's milk. Priscilla has been studying the effects of camel's milk on autistic children, because of her job as teacher of special needs children and because of her autistic brother.
The book is a good Amish read. If you are prone towards Amish fiction, this one will not disappoint. And you will read it quickly because you will want to know what happens! Loved it!
I received an ebook copy from the author via NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.
Amish Priscilla Ebersol’s life is content working with special needs children until she is humiliated when her boyfriend betrays her in front of friends and family in her church district. Amish camel farmer Gabriel Kauffman is trying to establish his business selling camel’s milk. Through a misunderstanding Priscilla is mistaken as Gabriel’s wife, and they do not bother to clear up the ruse. Misunderstandings and secrets eventually hurt those involved. Will their secrets be resolved through honesty and faith leading to unexpected blessings? Author Rachel Good’s research into special needs and camel’s milk was interesting. I found this to be an inspirational and heart-warming story.
I was given a copy of this book through NetGalley and the author. The opinions are my own.
This is an engaging story with characters that faced excruciating hurts and betrayal. Priscilla cared deeply as a teacher for special needs children, including he autistic brother. Gabriel was new to the area with his camel farm and store. Priscilla knew the benefits of camel milk for autism children and went to Gabe’s store after Matthew gave her the shock of her life. She was surprise how an Englischer was portraying herself to Gabe. There was a connection between Priscilla and Gabe with their interest in camel milk benefits to special need children. The pressure to sell his farm to another Englischer and falsified reports brought more drama than Gabe could face alone. Priscilla and her caring ways gave way to opportunities for Gabe to move forward but he had to face the past.
The interwoven drama between the Amish and Englisch, hidden secrets, truth revealed, budding romance, and a God that is always present to provide new beginnings gave this story the winsome qualities I appreciate in Amish fiction. I look forward to the next book in Rachel J. Good’s Unexpected Amish Blessings series.
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and Kensington Book and was not required to write a positive review. I have shared my own opinion.
The author is so skilled at drawing the reader into the story that I almost quit reading after chapter two! I was distressed at The way The main character was being treated!
The story is involved and interesting to the end. The solid values and triumph of faith will make me seek out more from this writer.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing an advanced e-copy to review.
His Pretend Amish Bride is a story of two people who both have hurtful memories of past relationships and find it difficult to let themselves fall for each other. Gabe has just opened a camel farm in Priscilla's town. Priscilla has an autistic brother and has researched the benefits that camel's milk can have on autism. She goes to the farm to buy a sample of milk and immediately feels a connection with Gabe.
This is a book that I requested to review for readers advisory at my library. I haven't read Amish fiction before but it's a popular genre in our community. I didn't expect to like this as much as I did! There were so many heartwarming stories throughout the book and I loved seeing how Gabe and Priscilla handled conflicts. I plan on picking up the other books in this series!
