Sawyer Dalton may be an investigative journalist, but he has no interest in the story of the sexy stranger who has invaded his barn’s loft apartment on Dry Creek Ranch. After months on the road, he just wants to settle in. But according to his mother, publicist for the beautiful celebrity chef sleeping in Sawyer’s bed, Gina DeRose needs a place to hide out until a scandal dies down. And Sawyer can never say no to his mother. Gina is devastated that her hard-won career is about to collapse. Someone is stirring up sabotage. And when a hoaxter blows up the internet with incriminating photos, even brooding—gorgeous—Sawyer is convinced she needs his help. Once they join forces, there’s no escaping each other—and with the heat simmering between them, soon neither wants to try.
This was a pretty good book. The story was well paced. The main characters were really exciting to follow on their journey. I hadn’t read this author before nor any books in this series, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was not disappointed! I plan on checking out the rest of the series next. I highly recommend.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
This the first book for me by this author. I was a bit worried when I realized this was the third book in a series, but no worries! this book stands alone and you get enough info about the other characters you are not lost. I will admit that I didn't much care for Gina t first. I thought she was a spoiled Hollywood type. but as the book goes one, you get more about her and I actually was impressed. I liked Sawyer and his cousins very much! I will most like go read the other 2 books now. this book had a few interesting characters and I found it very enjoyable.
I received a free copy of Cowboy Strong in exchange for an honest review. Yup, this was one of the good ones.
I really enjoyed this novel by Stacy Finz. It had a well thought out plot with just enough drama to keep it interesting. Gina was quite the character. I loved her from the moment Sawyer found her in his bed. She had all kinds of attitude, which Sawyer dished right back. It made for a great read.
I also enjoyed Sawyer and his constant battle to not get involved in Gina's drama. He just couldn't help himself. Overall, great read! I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
As a fan of cowboy romance, I enjoyed this book a lot. It's the first I've read from Stacy and I'll definitely be reading more. This story was filled with lots of emotions but it made the book that much more worth it. I'll definitely be reading more from her.
Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a smash-up story of the City Girl and the Country Boy, except she is a wealthy tv star and he is a rancher who is also a world traveling journalist. I really enjoyed Gina and Sawyer, their family and friends, and revisiting Dry Creek Ranch (Cowboy Up and Cowboy Tough). The fall of a foodie star, sass, and sabotage make this a book that is hard to put down. There is humor, some steam (in the kitchen – and out), and some interesting twists that make this a fun read.
When a television chef falls from grace due to a suspected affair with a married colleague, she is sent by her crisis management fixer to stay on the Dry Creek Ranch. Sawyer is frustrated and fascinated by Gina. Their interests and romance grows. This book seems to parallel some scandals in recent spotlights but Gina is unique and the support of her new made friends at the ranch give her an opportunity to get back to her roots and discover what makes her happy. I enjoyed this book very much and recommend it when you want to feel good and embrace a happy ever after.
Wow, so good. I definitely enjoyed Sawyer’s book. There was the continued search for his sister Angie, as well as the introduction of Gina into his life. I loved Gina, she was a damsel in distress but never really showed it. Their chemistry was immediate & explosive, as they both fought & failed to ignore it. I also enjoyed how author Stacy Finz continued the project for the cash infusion of the ranch into this book. I definitely didn’t feel like I was reading a new story in this series, it felt like I was reading a continuation of the first two books. Well done. Definitely recommend. I am hoping that maybe there’s a book coming for Angie!! Thank you to the author, publisher & Net Galley for allowing me to read this book for an honest review.
Stacy Finz brings another best seller to her readers with Cowboy Strong. This talented writer brings her characters to life in a story filled with pain, struggle, laughter, romance and love.
Cowboys, drama, the strength of family and friends, culinary delights, chemistry, a touch of mystery - wrap these together and we have a captivating visit to Dry Creek Ranch. This book is filled with tension and passion, a few laughs, a few tears, it’s heartwarming, and is a compelling read. I loved it!
A sensual romance with a few erotic passages
Gina DeRose's world blew apart when she was falsely accused of having sex with a fellow foodie. Her sponsors backed away and her time slot was in jeopardy, so she hired a PR firm, Dalton and Associates, the big guns for image problems.
The firm also happened to be owned by Sawyer Dalton's parents, who hadn't forewarned him, he would be her host.
Both had misconceptions about the other, but still felt a strong pull. Trying to ignore that pull doesn't work out as they help each other out. He realizes she is being framed and gets help to help her prove her innocence, but is still afraid to tell her how he feels until...he finally does and finds out it is mutual.
This romance is fast moving with a bit of humor and lots of strong character. I hated to put it down.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC to peruse gratis and offer my opinion in the same spirit.
Another enjoyable read in Stacy Finz’s Dry Creek Ranch series, “Cowboy Strong” features a romantic couple with little in common besides the instant attraction and sizzling chemistry they’re both a bit reluctant to admit.
Sawyer and Gina are complex, smart, honest individuals; as the author takes us through their very personal point of view, we, readers, see and experience the world through their eyes and Gina goes from a self-entitled snob to a pretty decent person.
I liked how Stacy Finz developed the saying that appearances can be deceiving: the cool and controlled celebrity has a lot of baggage and hides a world of hurt.
She settles so well in and enjoys Dry Creek Ranch. Her food seems delicious and the cooking process is very interesting.
Sawyer is a great character, too, and his honesty refreshing. The relationship with his family shows the soft side of the famous, tough journalist. On the other hand, watching him fight the attraction was just fun.
Top-notch writing, a great sense of humor and a sort of detour from the predictability in romance novels, writing characters that are smart, witty and basically…unpredictable when facing unpredictable changes, such as in real life, make this a very entertaining story.
This was the first book I had ever read by Stacy Finz and I absolutely loved it!!!! The chemistry between Sawyer and Gina was off the charts! I can not wait to read more of the series!
Three cousins, who are hunky cowboys. This is the third in the series, of journalist Sawyer coming home and finding disgraced food television personality Gina in his apartment. Sparks fly, and banter galore is found throughout the book. A good mystery of who is out to get her, and fun characters in and around the small town in northern California. Fun book, and one that was hard to put down. Highly recommend.
Complementary copy given for honest review and opinion.
This book finished out the family that Stacy Finz drew me in to with her other books. It was so nice to see that Sawyer got his happy ever after. Gina was just what he needed. She is spunky and thoughtful with the desire to be needed. Sawyer's family was just what she needed. This book felt like coming home to a family that I grew invested in. Awesome book!
I love the Dry Creek Ranch series and was anxious for Sawyer's story. Cash and Jade are Sawyer's cousins and the fist two books in this series. These cousins are running their grandfather's ranch and trying to make it profitable to save the place.
Gina DeRose is a famous chef and business woman who had found herself in the middle of a salacious scandal. Sawyer's mother is her crisis representative and sent Gina to hide it at Sawyer's home while he is away on a reporting assignment. The problem is, Sawyer is home early and wondering who the woman is that has taken over his kitchen.
Gina is shocked to find that the sexy cowboy who is booting her out of his apartment is talking her to a rundown cabin well below her standards. Sawyer is hot, smart and definitely leery of her with the scandal that she had an affair with a married man. Gina has no time to entertain his doubts and is pushing full force ahead to clear her reputation. Will it be too late to salvage her career and he culinary empire?
Sawyer has no time for the prima Donna who doesn't know what it means to get down and dirty on the ranch. He has his writing career and runs the ranch, desperate to help save the place.
These two are electric and can't help but be drawn to one another. Soon they give in to they're desires and Gina finds she has someone in her side in her fight. Sawyer believes Gina and wants to help her clear her name. In turn, Gina has her own thoughts and ideas on how to help Sawyer and the family ranch.
This was a greatly written story that has so many other dynamics and family fun outside Sawyer and Gina. Loved catching up with Charlie, Aubrey, Jace and Cash.
I’m a huge fan of the author and have read all of her series. This is a continuation of the Dry Creek Ranch series. It’s got a lot of plot while advancing the characters. I grow very attached to the characters from her prior books and it’s always nice to see them again. This book focuses on a celebrity chef who gets involved in a tabloid disaster and is hiding out at Dry Creek. Annoyance becomes sexual heat and love. The sex is always positively written from a woman’s point of view. I look forward to every Finz release and this one is the best yet.
The circumspect somewhat jaded journalist meets the food network princess and sparks fly. Gina and Sawyer couldn’t have been more different in their view of life and yet the sparks fly from their first meeting. Gina is hiding from a scandal that threatens her very existence in the food world and yet the investigative reporter smells the proverbial rat. The reader gets to catch up with Jace and Cash from previous books and become more familiar with the great folks who live in Dry Creek. Add to that the mystery of where Sawyer’s sister Angie has disappeared to five years ago keeps the reader totally involved with the emerging story. Not only are the characters well rounded, and the story romantic, the air of mystery to solve the scandal surrounding Gina gives this book a depth not often found in romance novels. This can be read as a stand alone but the reader should start at the beginning and read each and every book in the series. We should all hope for just one more book, Angies’ story.
Sawyer is an investigative journalist who spends months at a time in different countries following stories. When he gets home to the ranch he shares with his two cousins, he just wants to rest and relax. Unfortunately, he finds Gina, a well-known TV chef and lifestyle guru, has taken over his place. Gina's career is imploding and her high priced fixer, Sawyer's mom, told her she could stay there away from the paparazzi. I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers romance and highly recommend it.
Sawyer, an investigative journalist, arrives home to find a strange women in his bed. Gina, a celebrity chef, has been sent to Dry Creek Ranch to hide out after a story is published about her alleged affair with a married man. Sawyer doesn't like her at first but she starts to get under his skin. Sawyer even offers to help her find out who set her up after she tells him that there was no affair.
This is my first Stacy Finz's book and I loved it. Can't wait to read more.
I’ve enjoyed this author’s Nugget series, so I liked getting the same vibes from this book. I hadn’t read the first two in this series, so it’s definitely one that can be read without knowing backstories of everyone else, which is always good. I also appreciate her ability to write characters that are a little hard to love in the beginning, as was the case for me with both Gina and Sawyer. They both had some edges that needed to be sanded away before anyone saw the goodness underneath and their relationship felt realistic and was thankfully devoid of the OTT drama so many other books throw at characters. I especially liked how everything was resolved, because I was expecting something different in who would become Sawyer’s new neighbor. Overall, this book grabbed me, kept my interest, made me lose sleep for just “one more chapter”, and has me going back to read the first two while I wait to see who gets their story next.
