So I applied for this arc after reading the blurb for it and thought this may not work for me. Before going on I would like to thank Bold Strokes and Elle Spencer for providing the arc in return for my honest opinion. Well Elle is one of my favorite authors so I took a chance and applied. I had just read a arc from a dif author and felt I could not give a fair review so passed so I was worried I would not like this one either. There is a smidge of paranormal so I was a tad hesitant. Elle does such a great job, with not only the 2 mains but the rest of the cast in this book, and there are several that you feel you get to know them. Lots of banter not only between the mains but among the whole cast. This book has a little angst in it and I was wondering as I read it if it was really done right, or even necessary but in the end it all made sense. Elle, if she meant to or not has left the door open a crack to revisit this town as at least 3 characters could be open for their own books. I never found myself asking WHEN will this end and the length was just right..and you may shed a tear as well. 4.5 stars from me on a book that I assumed would be a 3. Pick it up as you stay safe

Okay, so Elle Spencer looked at the idea of past lives and past life regression and said, "Hey, lets make this into a rom-com!" and that's how we got Waiting for You. You have Lindsay Hall, a newly single mother who had been dreaming of her past life and love with a young woman whose name was Roo. Lindsay is a portrait artist who only works on people who she can see - except two: a young boy named Timmy, and Lindsay's past life lover, Roo. Meanwhile, Ren Christopher, an art historian, rolls into town after a while away. She's hot, sophisticated, and is a dead ringer for Lindsay's Roo. Ren and Lindsay have an instant connection despite Lindsay fainting at the sight of Ren.

I do have to give it to Spencer: she is really, really good at writing chemistry between romantic leads. Ren and Lindsay's romance is hot and heavy almost from the start, and their scenes are filled with some excellent flirty dialog. Spencer has a gift for dialog, and while it is a strength, I do get slightly frustrated with the constant quipping that's a big part of her comedy. This is a complaint I had with Casting Lacey, another book that is packed full of emotions that's broken up with bouts of comedic dialog. It works in some parts, but in others it feels like whiplash. However, she has a lovely subplot that ties into Lindsay's experiences with the past lives which is handled with a lowkey sweetness that is a balm for all the chaotic feelings in the rest of the book.

This is a book that has just about everything, comedy, feelings, sexy scenes, a great supporting cast and past lives. Fans of rom coms or dramadies will love this. You'll probably fall in love with the quirky residents of the small town of Salt Creek, MA. Also, fear not, the past lives, while important for the book and Lindsay, don't get their flashback episodes. It's a nice refreshing take on the trope. Despite some complains about the balance of the comedy, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I read it in one sitting, and I think many may do the same.

This wonderful story of past and present. When you dream of someone you are in love with, and the real thing comes into your life. What do you do? The universe is endless, some people are extremely sensitive. They see things, sometimes past, sometimes future, feelings that sometimes tske over your life, maybe not as clearly as you want to see the full story, just bits and pieces. In this case, both Lindsey and Ren were ment to be. Their instant attraction is beyond words. This whole story is amazing.

I loved the book Casting Lacey from Elle Spencer- I went into this book with high hopes, and it didn't leave me disappointed. The characters are realistic, and even the secondary characters were strong. I fell in love with this book, and it's so refreshing and something different.

I love stories of attraction so strong it rips everything in its wake.

A teenage experiment completely turned Lindsay’s life upside down: she re-lived a past life moment, in which she was desperately in love with another girl, Roo, an experience that left her unsettled enough that that same day, she went all the way with her boyfriend for the first time and got pregnant. Years later, she’s the recently divorced mother of a seventeen-year-old daughter and a respected portrait painter. In between paying clients, she keeps painting the same boy no one knows but with whom she feels a powerful connection. Then, suddenly, one night she paints the woman who hasn’t left her thoughts for so many years. The next day, Ren arrives in town for a two-week visit with her best friend Deb before moving to Paris for her new job. When her eyes fall on her, Lindsay knows Ren is a new incarnation of Roo.

Past lives and reincarnation are not really my thing, and I don’t think I’ve read many lesfic stories on this theme. I really liked that, to those who don’t know about that part of her life, Lindsay mostly appears as a kind and interesting person, a woman who overcame the difficulties of a teenage pregnancy to become a cool and supportive mom, a talented artist without a hint of arrogance. There’s a lot more going on inside her than meets the eye and Ren would probably have fallen for her even without fate playing tricks.

While I loved each and every character (except Lindsay’s ex-husband, Ben, whose name is creepily close to Ren’s, is that fate also?), the MCs and everyone around them, I never completely felt pulled all in. For some reason, I stayed on the surface. I very much Elle Spencer’s writing, however, she’s great with dialogues and banter, which is up there with Melissa Brayden‘s, and she writes an excellent sex scene. All in all, I had a really good time reading and recommend this novel without hesitation to anyone who wants a smart and very sexy read.

Lindsay has been haunting by her past life since she was teenager she knows she had a great love and it kinda mess with the relationships she had through the years. She has beautiful teenage daughter have become a successful painter. When she meet Ren she faints and she believes she is Roo from her past life.

Ren just got a job in Paris all she wants to do is hang out with her friend Deb before she goes to Paris what she didn’t expect is to meet Lindsay who says she Roo from their past life which she doesn’t know if to believe her or not.

This was a nice romance sex scenes were hot the dialogues were great loved the secondary characters Deb Patty Joyce I like the touch of history how hard it was to love back then.

I have read most of Elle Spencer's romances and I think this is by far her best. Lindsay Hall has felt since High School like she lived a past live where she was in love with Roo (a woman)..17 years later she is newly divorced with a Daughter who is 17,. She has become a successful portrait painter and still longs for Roo and an unknown boy of around 10 to 12 years old. Ren Christopher is in town for two weeks to visit her best friend from college before going off to Paris for a new job. When Lindsay comes across Ren she takes one look at her and faints. She knows that Ren is Roo.

I was really impressed with the main and supporting characters. I love a book that has enough dialogue to keep me from getting bored and Waiting for you has plenty. The chemistry between Lindsay and Ren is incredible. You just knew they would fall for each other. When they finally fall into bed, it is unexpected and oh so delicious. I am just SMH at how good this was. I never felt that this romance was superficial even though Lindsay was caught up in the idea of Roo. Everything was just natural.

This is for some one of the best books I have read this year and I can't help but give it 5 stars.

Lindsay knows she had a great love in her past life and has been haunted by it ever since she was a teenager. She doesn't expect to encounter Ren in the present - or to have such a limited amount of time with her again.

I'll be honest, I am unable to resist the past lives trope. I absolutely adored this book. A sweet and sensual romance paired with an intriguing mystery about the past - it's perfect. I also really liked the different relationships between women that were portrayed here. And there were some moments in this book that were heartbreakingly beautiful. I'll be thinking about it for a while.

Im not stranger to Elle Spencer work. I liked most of her books. But man this one surprised me. she did great job in creating this small world. in which I fell in love with, I loved the people. the cold weather even,,I wanted to be their friend and one of them... I got to experience so many emotions while reading this., there so much humor and romance in this story. I almost cried when I finished. its not long enough for me.

Can I say that the chemistry between Lindsay and Ren was out of this world. and petty stole my heart she was so funny and awkward.

This book is so refreshing, different and beautifully written. Highly recommended

I am a big Elle Spencer fan, she really makes characters and stories come to life, this book is no different.

I usually write reviews with a short recap of the story, but I am not doing it with this one because I think it’d reveal too much.
It’s a love story, but with issues, however I don’t think that is the main thing in this book. For me it was the humour and the friendships in this book that pull you in and keep you interested. The secondary characters in this book are amazing. I love Deb, Patty and Joyce. Patty deserves her own book, I think it would be hilarious. I think it’s great this book also touches on the tough history of the LGBT+ community. While this is a story that has elements of a past life romance, it doesn’t get sappy, or to out there, which I was extremely afraid of, but there was no reason to worry. The author does a great job to keep it light and funny, but stil show character development and make you feel connected to the book. The dialogues are great, which really gives all characters an extra dimension.

This book could easily be the start of series of books set in the small town. I would definitely pick them up.

I love Elle Spencer and was excited to get my hands on this book especially after reading the synopsis.
The chemistry between Ren and Lindsey was off the charts and the sex scenes were definitely hot.
I also loved the MC’s friends and family and made the story line even better.
The only disappointment was I felt it ended too quickly and you don’t know what happens until the Epilogue.
Overall I recommend!

I had no idea what I was getting into when I recieved this ARC, but I'm almost glad at that. The characters were well written, though not too fleshed out, you grow attached to them in an incredibly short amount of time and some of the jokes make you feel like you really a part of their group. It's an incredibly light hearted read with some serious moments that bring you back down to reality. It reminded me of a fanfiction in all the best ways. The take on past lovers/soulmates was refreshing and different. All in all I really enjoyed it and it couldnt have come at a better time. It's a pretty perfect light hearted romance.

However, her visions of the past haven't done her any favors in her personal life, and now Lindsay is a divorced mother, still chasing the ghost of a beautiful woman named Roo who her past self was in love with. Then Ren Christopher speeds into town, and Lindsay is <i> sure </i> Ren is Roo reborn. The two women are drawn to each other immediately, but Ren is leaving for Paris in two weeks and she doesn't really buy into Lindsay's reincarnation stuff either. Will Lindsay and Ren be forced apart like they were back in their past lives, or was their love really meant to be?

First, I want to say that when I was deciding whether to request this book on Netgalley, I was a bit hesitant because the blurb sounded a little kooky. But then I was like, it's <i>Elle Spencer</i> and, let me tell you, she did not disappoint.

The Characters: I loved almost all of them. Spencer uses a large and varied cast of side characters to add to the plot, so the book really captures the small-town feel, where everyone is in each others' business. It also made for a more intricate plot. That being said, I would also have been totally satisfied if Lindsay and Roo were the sole focus of the story. They are so cute together, and hot! They both have fully fleshed out personalities, and it was easy to fall in love with both of them.

The Plot: This is not your average romance, as you can probably tell by the blurb. It was really interesting to watch the story unfold, since Lindsay ends up remember more and more details of her past life. The side plots with the other townspeople were also really interesting and did not detract from the main romance plot.

The Writing: I always love Elle Spencer's dialogue. She makes it flow so well, and I can always expect flirting, teasing, and witty comebacks. This book was no exception and in fact raised the bar in my opinion.

Cons: Not a big con, but the character of Patty rubbed me the wrong way a bit. Perhaps partially because I felt awkward about her being interested in both Lindsay and Ren at different points in the story. Some of her lines also didn't quite land for me, and she comes off as rash and immature. Still, she has her moments, and she's a good friend to Lindsay for the most part.

All in all: Would recommend this book! It's definitely something new and a really enjoyable read.

I adore Elle Spencer! This book is awesome. I fell in love with Lindsay and Ren. As someone who totally believes in past lives and reconnecting with those from our past lives, this book definitely goes on my must re-read shelf. I loved the shout out to Samantha King. My only complaint was that the epilogue was not long enough. I just wanted more. Also, I would love to read Katie and Roo’s story.

Waiting for You is an ambitious plot. I read the description and was iffy but then noticed the author and decided to try. I think it is a testament to Elle Spencer’s abilities that I stayed interested. It was easy to read in one sitting. The plot had some unevenness and ended kind of abruptly but I enjoyed it.

An honest review thanks to NetGalley. Wow. Elle Spence has written one of my favorite books but I was left disappointed with the few she has recently released. This book has proven me wrong and that she is an absolutely amazing writer. The dialogue between the characters had me literally laughing out loud and giggles continuing after, that's what immediately drew me into the story. Then when Ren and Lindsay meet the book went to explosive new levels. The underlying sub plot of a second life and the secondary character of Mrs. Stokely... wow. I would love a second book with Patty, she was hilarious!! This was an outstanding book and I am so excited for future books from Spencer.

I think Elle Spencer books are getting better and better. This one definitely had a different concept, that's for sure. Past lives is the new way for instant love!

In general this book was enjoyable to read, so I'm just going to highlight my favorited bits. I particularly liked all the side characters/friends and thought they really added warmth and humor to the story. I LOVED the backstory of Joyce and Millie, the little bits we got. Prequel please!

The sex scenes were also hot, just to throw that out there.

I did think it ended pretty abruptly. I was hoping it would have ended before the epilogue, so we could have had a sequel. Nothing wrong with the characters not getting together in the first book...especially when it seems like it's tossed in there quickly.

Overall, I'd recommend it to other readers!

Elle Spencer, once again, has created an original plot with relatable, well rounded characters. Lyndsay’s moment in time where she saw her past, effected her future so greatly that she spent her life fixated on Roo. When she saw Ren at You Moca Me Crazy and passed out, nothing for either of them would ever be the same. The dialogue between the characters was witty and I found the supporting characters added just as much, if not more to the story than our mains. Elle Spencer has written another amazing read. I highly recommend this book!
