This was a fun, quick read. I listened to it in one sitting. I do enjoy Heather’s comedy and having family in the South, I got ALL of the references! It was fun to hear her stories.

Hmm, I was expecting this to be funnier. To be fair, I wasn't familiar with Heather Land prior to reading this book SSI I wasn't already a fan. I did Google her and watch a couple of her I Ain't Doin' It videos on YouTube after I was maybe 1/3 of the way through the book. I think maybe I'm just not the right audience for her humor. Maybe she's a better fit for divorced middle aged Christian moms? Each chapter is an essay on a particular subject and there are some good observations, but honestly, not anything I haven't heard elsewhere. I'd say if you're already a fan of Land, give this a go. Otherwise, you might want to keep looking if you aren't in her target audience.

Thank you Howard Books and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed this, but I didn’t love it. There were a few that just didn’t do it for me, but I could get through those because I knew there was going to be something else I would like, However, I loved the writing itself. It was funny and relatable and sometimes that’s literally all you want. It made me laugh and it made me think and above all, it made me feel something about myself like all good essay collections or memoirs should!

A Perfect 10 is just an okay read. None of the ideas are novel, little in the way of explanation, and the author refers to herself as a comedienne, but it's really not all that funny.

Okay for a free read, but I wouldn't pay money for it.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book.

Fun, funny, hopeful. Those three word describe this book, and Heather Land as well. It's both personal to her, but feels as though it could have been about me as well, and I love books that can do that. I found so many nuggets of truth and grace embedded in the jokes that made me snicker. All in all, a lovely read!

A PERFECT 10 is such a cute and fun book, much like Heather’s videos, with life lessons mixed in with humor. I love her videos and many times she makes me laugh so hard, I have tears streaming down my face. It’s a not too serious look at some issues that can hurt . Laughter is truly the best medicine! Her southern charm really shines through in each and every chapter. Besides reading A PERFECT 10, you really should watch her videos if you haven’t before.

If you are feeling down and sad you really should read A PERFECT 10. It was one of the funniest books I’ve read this year! Heather Land writes just like she talks and while reading, I could see her with her wide mouth filter, saying what I was reading. Needless to say, my family kept looking over at me when I was reading. They looked at me like I was insane and that only made me laugh harder! You will learn how her faith got her through her divorce and many other things, and gave her the strength to move forward. I didn’t find A PERFECT 10 preachy at all, but God is present in her story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Atria Books through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Witty, sarcastic, charming, laugh-out-loud entertainment! If you haven’t had your eyes on this book guys you seriously need to go out and grab your own copy, like right now! You can thank me later! This book is ridiculously comedic and I literally laughed out loud at some many parts of this novel, I absolutely loved and DEVOURED this novel! I love Heather’s raw and brutal honesty, her sarcasm, and her wittiness as you flip through the pages! All the chapters are full of uncensored comedy and true stories and parts of her life that she shares with her audience, us as readers.

I have been a fan of Heather’s since I first discovered her on Facebook and her “I Ain’t Doin’ It” videos, and when I happened to come across “A Perfect 10″ on NetGalley, well you know of course I just had to request this title! I am thrilled she has written books, and I definitely plan to go out and grab her other novel “I Ain’t Doin It”!

I cannot recommend this book enough. You will laugh so hard you will cry! All the stars for this novel!

I hadn’t yet been familiar with Heather Land’s work, but after I started reading A Perfect 10 I looked her up and spent what would be a few hours watching her on Youtube, and reading all about her on her social media handles. In this hilarious collection of essays, and encouraging words, Heather recounts some experiences that helped her in her journey. You’ll find that they are also pretty relatable in your own life.

It’s filled with encouraging quotes, that are worthy of referencing in the future, and could even be daily mottos to go by. This quick read will make you feel good, and it will remind you, that even under stressful situations, and things that we can’t control. We only have one life, and we have to enjoy it, even if we make mistakes, we learn from them and continue on our journey. Because as we get older, we understand, and start to realize how precious time really is.

Make every day count!

Heather Land has segued her "I ain’t doin it" viral video into music cds, a comedy tour, and now books. This is the second book she’s written.

Heather Land has a non-hurtful brand of comedy that is mostly pointing fun at herself and her life. She knows why she does some ridiculous things the same way they’ve always been done, but she plays along. Unfortunately, some of the names she dropped in regards to her retail therapy and other celebrities she knows were unfamiliar. Probably those in her regular audience would have understood the references.

Her life hasn’t been easy, and she’s not afraid to tell how her humor has helped her navigate these circumstances. Her positive attitude, Christian faith and no-nonsense advice sounded reasonable and most likely on point for those in similar situations. Overall, I’d give this book 2.5 out of 5 stars. I’d recommend it for women in their late 30's or early 40's who may have similar life experiences to those of the author.

I had not previously heard of Heather Land or her I Ain’t Doin’ It videos, so I went in blind to A Perfect 10: The Truth About Things I’m Not and Never Will Be. The book is memoir-ish and totally funny.

Each chapter is a humorous essay on a different topic. From growing up in the South to being crafty and your ex-husband dating younger women, the essays all have something I could relate to and laugh about. I especially loved the essay on social media and people’s obsession with “likes”. There are plenty of quips and quotes that will leave a mark on your heart.

You probably know Heather Land and the “I Ain’t Doin’ It” lady from videos you have seen on social media. She took her viral sensationalism and turned it into a career. This book is full of funny and wise essays on dealing with social media, your junk drawer, class reunions and spanx, and much more. I find it funny and charming and a quick read. I am not a big highlighter of books, but I marked up several passages in this one. Including this quote below.

“Life is full of contrasts. It takes us through mountain peaks and valleys, ups and downs. But age is the great equalizer. Age is the price of wisdom. The world keeps on spinning, and somehow we keep turning with it.”

I do so love a good memoir! I really wanted to enjoy this read, but it just felt pretty slow to me. She made me laugh and feel contemplative, but this memoir just left me wanting more.

Memoirs are so crazy to read. Especially when you have a perception of someone’s life. I had no idea who this person was and she was hilarious. I found myself turning from page to page laughing and feeling emotion for and with this mother. Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I love this women. She knows how yo make me laugh and cry in the same paragraph. I do relate to her saying "utter disdain for stupid people and Walmart." I'm pretty sure I say that at least once a week. This is a great book and so relatable . She covers many topics, and gives you quite a few eye openers too in her funny sarcastic way. Unputdownable!
