I just really enjoyed this book. It was just really easy to get lost in this book. I will definitely be reading more by this author.

I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

This was a quick and easy book to read. I thoroughly enjoy this author's writing, and this story - although it did have bits that either made me cringe or were a bit formulaic - was no exception.

I loved Violet's perseverance. She's been kicked in the proverbial teeth many times over the years, and still she manages to maintain a fairly positive outlook on life, and is ever hopeful for the future. I wasn't a fan of her embarrassment in front of Ford; their meeting or with her big ol' binder. But their chemistry was fiery hot!

I also wasn't a fan of the way Ford behaved in order for the story to have its "dark moment". I really feel that he was too callous about the situation, after everything that she revealed to him. That broke my heart even though I knew it was coming and how things would play out. Which, I suppose, speaks to the author's talent.

I would have liked for Ford to do more to earn Violet's forgiveness after the hell he put her through, and because of that the ending felt a bit rushed. But overall this was a fun book and I look forward to reading more by this author in future.

Small town romances are just my bread and butter - I could eat them up all day everyday and Always a Bridesmaid is no exception to this! Heartwarming, grin-inducing and so damn sweet it hurts. There is nothing I love more than a blossoming romances between two people that aren't looking for love and just so happen to stumble across it. Chemistry, passion, laughter, this book has it all! A real solid read and a perfect addition to the series

Overall, Always a Bridesmaid is an adorable, heartwarming, spirited tale by Madsen that’s a lovely addition to the Getting Hitched in Dixie series and the perfect choice for dog lovers, romance fans, and summer!

I absolutely loved this book, but I’m not surprised. I loved the first book in this series JUST ONE OF THE GROOMSMEN. It has a perfect balance of comedy and romance. I loved these two character and the banter between the two of them.

Always a Bridesmaid (Getting Hitched in Dixie #2) by Cindi Madsen was a thoroughly fun and engaging read that did get steamy a couple of times. This is the second in a series, but would work perfectly as a standalone. I have read the first book and appreciated the expanded backstory from doing so. Always a Bridesmaid kept me wanting to come back for more to see what was going to happen next in the lives of Violet and Ford. I loved the main characters, Violet was quirky and adorable, while Ford was a super handsome firefighter and loves dogs and puppies. The small town where they live, Uncertainty, seems like a cute place, especially with the descriptions given of a few of the shops and areas. I sure hope there is a third book in this series, there is a police officer that could use a romance next time around.

Always a Bridesmaid was positively brilliant. I was super excited to get a copy of the second story in the Getting Hitched in Dixie series. I loved Cindi Madsen's writing and was even more excited to see Addie's best friend Ford find love.

This story has puppies and I have to say that almost always wins me over. I love puppies. Puppies are always a win.

Ford is helping his best friend Addison get married as her maid-of-honor. Except he doesn't know anything about love or weddings. He gets saved from wedding planning when Violet sets fire to her sisters bakery on accident. The connection is instant and despite Violet swearing off men, she's intrigued by Ford.

I loved this story. Ford and Addison both by themselves, their relationship, and their relationship with the other characters in this story. Addison was my absolute favorite because her ADHD brain mixed with anxiety was 100% me. I felt that everywhere. The quote that hit me right in the feels was;

"She was guilty of piling one bad thing on top of another until every setback weighed her down and crushed her spirits."-Violet's inner thoughts

I felt that in my soul. Violet felt like such a real character. She was sweet and quicky and while not perfect she would give anything for her friends. It always broke my heart when people would say or do things in the story that hurt her. When Ford messed up I was straight up in tears. It broke my heart.

Ford had a lot of issues with who his family was and past relationships with women. He struggled to trust he was relationship material and that sent him running from Violet for much of this story and even during their relationship. Despite that, he's definitely one of those characters you'd want to make a book husband rather than a book boyfriend. He's funny with great friends and lots of freaking puppies. This story definitely had me wanting to get another (or a few more) puppies.

Ford and Addison's relationship was fabulous. While there was an instant connection, the relationship and even friendship was a slow build that I loved. Their relationship towards the beginning was a lot of them circling each other while also trying to find ways to spend time with each other. It was adorable. The humor and teasing between them felt so much like a real relationship that it just had me swooning and wishing all the more for their happy ending. Some favorite quotes between the two of them were;

"Maybe she was a government spy, sent to infiltrate Uncertainty with a glittery binder. Yeah, that checked out. Most spies struggled with simple electronics."-Ford's inner thoughts

"Evidently mud makes me sappy," she said. "I'm about to start waxing poetic."
Amusement danced along the crooked slant of Ford's smile. "Spout some poetry for me, Shakespeare."
"Wasn't Shakespeare more of a playwright?"
"Ooh yeah. Those are the sexy words I was looking for."

Always a Bridesmaid also had the positive that despite the sexual tension between the characters, the story wasn't just about the sexy times after they got together. They still went on dates, hung out with friends, and had their own lives outside of each other.

I loved this story and couldn't put it down....at least until my hubby came in with a peanut butter filled brownie. But I mean come on? Who can blame me? It's peanut buttery and chocolate goodness! I greatly enjoyed this story. The characters, the pacing, the unique way we got the happily ever after, and puppies. Trouble I knew was staying and I was in love almost as soon as I heard the puppy was basically ADHD like Violet. This story is an absolute must-read if you love happily ever afters and amazing stories with puppies.

Always a Bridesmaid by Cindi Madsen is the second book in the Getting Hitched in Dixie series. This story introduces us to Violet Abrams, a young lady who is recovering from a bad breakup. She heads home to Uncertainty, Alabama to mend her heart and help redesign her sister's bakery. She was not expecting to almost burn down that bakery on her first day home. She meets firefighter, Ford Maguire, a man who is totally marriage averse. Violet ends up assisting her sister's friend plan her wedding where Ford just happens to be the "Man of Honor". They keep getting thrown together and the two wedding wary characters slowly develop a relationship with one another.

This was a fun story with some giggles and laugh out loud moments. I really liked Violet, she has things in her past that could cause problems in Uncertainty, but she faced them head on. She was also a good friend and sister, who was quite creative. Ford has a reputation because of his family. His father and siblings have had multiple relationships and not very good jobs and everyone just assumes Ford is no good, even though he has a great job, saves lives and puts the community before his own needs. This is a small town romance, with nosy neighbors and busybodies galore. There are dogs being trained for rescue animals and puppies that were so sweet. There was even a porcupine at one point. Lots of yummy sounding goodies from the bakery, a local festival and great friends. All in all, a good summer story to read by a pool or out in the backyard. There are a couple of well-described sexual encounters, but besides that, it is a pretty tame and enjoyable story.

Having really enjoyed book 1 in this series I was excited to read Always a Bridesmaid and let me tell you this book was everything I expected and more....
Violet Adams is always the bridesmaid, never the bride and now her ex is getting married she is struggling to come to terms with her life, this was meant to be her day so what do you do, well I guess starting a fire by burning wedding dress pictures isn’t right unless it gets firefighter Ford Maguire’s attention.....
I love the characters, the story and I loved catching up with Ford again, we meet him in Just One Of The Groomsman and his story is a great addition. This is an entertaining, fun romance that I highly recommend. It certainly ticked all my boxes and left me smiling like a Cheshire Cat.

This series is one of my absolute favorites and I cannot wait until the next (and i guess last) book.

This book focuses more on the town and now it is time for a wedding and the most handsome bridesman Ford. He is scared of commitment, scarred by his family and their dysfunctions and is secretly the best man ever. And then enters Violet, who has a rough past and a good heart. Together, they have a lot of chemistry and heat.

I recommend this series to everyone.

Absolutely adored this sweet romance. It was a fun small town feel romance that has you swooning and wanting more. Hello.... Firefighter?!? Yes please? I loved the quirkiness, the love and the overall feel of this story!

I read the previous book in this series and I must say that I enjoyed this one even more! Violet is a complex character. Raised by a single mother, only occasionally visiting with her father who has been married since before she was born and having a ten year relationship fall apart, she definitely has her hands full. She was invited by her half sister to visit and help renovate her bakery, along with helping with her sister’s new baby. She has sworn off men, but is very tempted by local fireman and EMT Ford, who has issues of his own. Watching these characters develop has been a delight. I’m going to be looking for more from this author!

Very cute story. Loved this second book in the series. Violet was dumped by her boyfriend of ten years for a younger woman. She discovered his indiscretion at her sister's wedding. As a result she destroyed his new BMW with golf club. She served her sentence and lost everything.

She retreats to her live with her half-sister. Violet is also the bastardized child of town's mayor. She has always felt like a mistake her father made / wanted to keep a secret.

Ford's family has always been the talk of the town. His family has a long history of being criminals...as a result they expect Ford to be the same way.

Both Ford and Violet find each other (two broken people becoming one). Both have severe issues with trust. The addition of training search and rescue dogs, being a EMT, fireman and all around good guy keeps Ford from really looking at his life..the family he was born to and how ths town folk look at him as a bad seed.

Readers of Kristen Higgins, and Jill Shalvis should read this story.

This series is a delightful, small town, romance, written in a charming and humorous voice. Cute puppies, dysfunctional families, quirky and eclectic characters that populate the town add to the delightful read and provide amusement.

Tomboy, Addison (Addie) Murphy Murphy) had grown up with her gang, Tucker Crawford, Will Shepherd (Shep), Easton and Ford McGuire in the small town of Uncertainty, Alabama. In the first book Shep gets married, and Addie and Tucker go from friends to lovers. In this book, they are preparing for the wedding. As Addie was one of the Groomsmen at Shep's wedding, she has picked Ford as her Bestdude, a position that he is not really comfortable with. Ford has issues. His father and 2 older half brothers are alcoholics and not very nice people and his mother had left him when he was young. To make up for his family, he has made himself into a hero of sorts, a fireman, paramedic, search & rescue and even training the dogs. But after the way he was brought up, he has no interest in ever having a family.

Violet Abrams is the "love" child of a short affair that the town mayor had many years go. Growing up she did not have a much of a relationship with her father or her half siblings, but recently she has become close to her half sister Maisy. After she catches her boyfriend of 10 year making out with another bridesmaid at Maisy's wedding, she decides that she has had it with men. When she, an award-winning photographer also losses her photography muse and Maisy's husband is deployed, she comes to Uncertainly to help Maisy renovate her bakery. Violet has ADHD and accidentally starts a fire her first day there- meeting Ford. Their attraction is immediate and instead of being disgusted by Violet's scatterbrained personality, he finds her charming. But will the pressures of the reopening of the bakery, the wedding preparations and other people messing with their heads, can these two people who are clearly made for each other get it together?

While this is a wonderful story, except for Violet having wasted 10 years on her boyfriend Benjamin and her summers in Uncertainty, there was nothing about her growing up except that she was raised by a single Jewish woman and her bubbie (grandmother) in Florida. Why was the character made Jewish, when there is nothing about her that is Jewish? She has a group of friends "The Bridesmaid Crew", but not too much about them either. These should have been explored more, or totally cut out as they adding nothing but confusion to the story.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

If you are looking for a book filled with puppies, friendship, humor, family, and romance, then this is the book for you. This is the followup book to Just One of the Groomsmen but you don’t have to read the first book to read this one.

Violet arrives in Uncertainty to nurse her wounds from a failed relationship and to help her sister Maisey fix up her bakery. She didn’t count on starting a fire and meeting Ford, one of the firefighters for the town, and falling for him. He has his own issues when it comes to relationships and she was the last thing he expected when he responded to the call about the fire.

I laughed through the whole book. I didn’t mark any passages to share because I would have wanted to share the whole book. There are some touching moments, times when the characters are at odds, and some spicy scenes to round out the book. I thought it was brilliant to have Violet be so open about her ADHD and when one of the puppies training to be search and rescue dogs has the same affliction, she becomes attached to him and nicknames his Distracto before he is given his official name, Trouble. Ford has issues and almost ruins a good thing by not following his heart and listening to others. It’s a guy thing, but thankfully his best friend is Addie Murphy and she helps set him straight.

The book does leave something of a cliffhanger regarding one of the friends, Easton. I want to know his story but I’ll have to wait. sigh.

We give this book 5 paws up.

I really (mostly) enjoyed this second book, Always a Bridesmaid, in Cindi Madsen’s Getting Hitched in Dixie. Ford, a fireman/paramedic/S&R/little league coach/puppy trainer, is sexy and sweet and Violet is warm, smart, self-aware; her ADD adds a quirky layer to her character.

Trouble and his littermates and Pyro, the S&R dog, all add such a wonderfully sweet dimension to this book. And, I was so very happy to see the extent that Addie, the MC from the previous Getting Hitched book Just One of the Groomsmen, participated in this book. She is probably my favorite ever Madsen character.

I loved the way that Ford and Violet came together, slowly feeling each other out, unable to avoid the very strong attraction they have for each other.

Two elements stop this book from getting a much higher rating from me. The first is that the pacing felt off near the middle, perhaps due to the feeling that situations were repeating themselves, so much so that I actually grew weary of continuing so I stopped and finished reading the other book I’d been reading in conjunction because I was sure I’d give this one a much lower rating than it might have deserved just because I was annoyed. The second element is that Violet went all Carrie Underwood-Before-He-Cheats on her ex-boyfriend’s car. Now, you have to understand I beyond hate that song. I abhor it. I loathe it. If I never heard it again, I’d be ecstatic. It’s the only song I turn off when I hear it begin. It’s my nails-on-a-chalkboard song. I think that if you do that to someone’s car, you may have more issues than just his cheating. Yep, extremely disappointed that Violet did that and being drunk just isn’t a good enough excuse for reasons which should be obvious. Sorry, not sorry. Phew. Glad that rant is done.

When I picked up the book again, I was in a different space and mostly enjoyed the rest of it.

I’d recommend Always a Bridesmaid for anyone who likes their romances with a sense-of-humor, a sense of cute, and a good amount of sexy.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’m really enjoying this series! Violet and Ford are wonderful characters- they are relatable and not without their imperfections. The chemistry and connection between the two was perfect. This book was sweet, entertaining and I can't wait to see what else happens in the town of Uncertainty.

4.5 - This book was so cute! I loved both the main characters in this books. Of course there was a conflict at the end as all romances do but it was really in theme with what the character Ford was struggling with through out the book as his whole family is really bad at commitment. Violet was just getting out of a emotionally abusive relationship and it has left her with doubts about the whole male population. I really liked Ford and Violets chemistry and there were puppies involved so who wouldn't want that. This is a second book in a series but it can be read as a standalone.
