This was my first novel by this author. I thought it had great character growth and enjoyed the flipping of character POV from each chapter. I was nervous when earl was released from prison, but I liked how that possible fiasco was resolved. I especially liked the relationship that few between Gregg and Annie. It’s not easy to assume to role of step dad and he showed so much love for her.

Good story about a woman who is down on her luck in a less than ideal situation whose life gets completely changed based on lies. Those lies carry her through and ultimately she is able to release the burden of lies and her life becomes anew. I received an ARC from Netgalley and the publisher and this is my honest review.

One thing I really enjoy about the author’s writing is the reality of life with a twist of spiritual promptings woven throughout.
Follow Susanna, who has made many poor choices in life, but devoted herself to giving her daughter Annie, the best life possible.
Meet Ida, and see how the years of experience have shaped her into the grandmother figure she has become.
There are several men in Susanna’s life. Can she make a wise choice?
The lies keep piling up and Susanna can’t seem to stop. But as always, the truth sets us free.

Bette Lee Crosby’s new book, A Million Little Lies was a light, easy read. What I enjoy the most about reading her books is that she writes southern fiction really well. Her characters are always ones that you can connect with and grow to care about, even when they don’t always make the best choices. This story was about Susannah Duff, who had a rather rough start to her life. Because of this, she picked up the bad habit of lying, lying to protect herself and to protect the ones she cared about. All she ever really wanted was to have a family, someone she could love and to be loved back, a place to belong. This book taught us that you don’t need to be blood related to become family. It also, in a round about way, showed us that lying wasn’t necessarily the best or only way. That sometimes, like the old saying goes, the truth will set you free! And that was definitely the case in this story. I also really liked how the author wrapped the storyline up leaving the reader feeling optimistic and hopeful for the future. I found this to be a very enjoyable read and one I would recommend to others. I’d like to thank NetGalley for the arc to read and review. I’m giving this a 4 star rating.

I absolutely loved this book. From the title of the book to the last word in the story I was hooked. Well written. The story line was so easy to follow. I loved learning about Suzanna and the hard childhood she had. Losing a parent at a young age would be difficult on anyone. Her father did not give her the time of day and was always drunk. For her it was easier to tell some lies than have to tell others the truth. But once you start telling lies, they can become bigger and bigger, which is what happened to Suzanna. She knew she needed a better life for herself and her daughter, Annie. Being short on money and needing a meal, she saw an advertised memorial service and decided to drop by just for a meal. The grieving widow though mistook her for her granddaughter who had left many years ago. She though this was a sign from her deceased husband that she reappeared in her life. Ida Parker took right to her and Annie and welcomed them with open arms. Suzanna played along and one lie led to another and she moved in with Ida. She knew it was wrong but she finally had someone who loved her which lessened the darkness of her childhood. Always having a guilty conscious, one day she came clean to Ida about who she really was. You will have to read this great story to see if the truth helped or hurt her more and if she was able to move on in her life. Highly recommend this book.

Bette Lee Crosby's A Million Little Lies is a winner. When your life is bad and you want a do over like Suzanna Duff you will do and say a lot of things out of desperation. Suzanna has an eight year old daughter to think about and she wants a better life for her. When she accidentally stumbles upon that good life it is hard to say no. But the lies and deceit start to add up and Suzanna is at the point where she has to make some difficult choices. Will the truth hurt the people she loves? I would recommend this book for those that like women's contemporary literature and or Southern based fiction.

I've been a fan of Crosby's work for a while and I very much enjoyed A Million Little Lies.

What happens when someone tells too many lies? Will the past eventually catch up you?

Suzanna Duff was an engaging and relatable character. She had a lifetime of hard times. Anyone who has ever fell on hard times will be able to relate with her. Her choices however, were something that I found difficult not to judge.

This book would make for excellent discussion at a book club. There were layers and layers to uncover to the main characters. I'd highly recommend this!

Mrs. Crosby has done it again! This is a wonderful story of forgiveness and redemption. My heart was so drawn into this story that I never wanted it to end. This one is a must read!

Start over based on lies or stay in the life you have?
I think many of us have thought about running away and starting over at some point Susanne Duff does it with her young daughter in tow. Escaping a past filled with men who belittled her, treated her like she was worthless and humiliated her finding a safe haven in a strangers home is something she never thought she would have. The safe haven is built on lies so how long will it remain safe?
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were rich and full of character -the good, the bad and the ugly. You can sympathize with the character in her need and desire for a new life. My only fault with the book is the ending where two central characters suddenly became better versions of themselves as if only to tie up loss ends. Other then that it’s a great read.

As always, Bette Lee Crosby wrote another book I could not put down!
The lead character, Suzanna, is mistaken for the missing granddaughter of Ida's beloved husband. Rather than break Ida's heart, she plays along and as time passes she doesn't have the courage to tell Ida the truth.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I just knew someone was going to come along and expose her lies. Very good, easy read!
I recieved this book as an Advanced Reader Copy, in exchange for my honest review.

I received this book "A Million Little Lies" from NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own. As with all of Bette Lee Crosby's books, you quickly want to read them but at the same time you don't want them to end. The characters become your friends and you can't wait to see what they will do next. My favorite series is Memory House and this book A Million Little Lies has to be my next favorite. I thought that something else was going to happen - along the lines of Ida's son. Didn't happen but as you read you do try to guess what will happen lol. You never know what the story of your life will bring. There are choices to be made and we all do our best. Can we have a sequel about Ida's son and what happened to make him leave?

The problem with finishing a book by Bette Lee Crosby is going on to the next book. The problem is also when you think her last book was great, it has been replaced with another great story. I have never read a Crosby book I didnt love.

And so we have a story about Suzanna who has a little girl and did not have such a great life. To get away from an abusive boyfriend, she finds herself running away only to end up in a small town meeting up with a grandmother who mistakens her for her granddaughter.

And so the story goes on with Suzanna (who Ida calls Darla Jean) and her daughter, Annie going on with the lies in order for Suzanna to give her daughter a loving home and life she never had.

This story warmed my heart as Crosby's books always do, a little bit of tears, laughter, joy, romance and a lot of love. Thanks to #Netgally for this ARC and Ms Crosby for writing such a beautiful story. I will always buy her books because we all need to read about challenges that love overcomes. #fivestars

This was the first book I read by Bette Lee Crosby called A Million Little Lies. This is your typical story of a hard life that you try to out run, lies get told along the way, you hope they don't come out, but they always do. It was a good story about a woman starting over and so many amazing people she meets along the way. I did think there was going to be more mystery and suspense when I read the description. Overall, a nice book to spend an afternoon or two with. I did read this book fairly quickly and enjoyed the story line and characters. Crosby makes the reading easy and characters likeable.
Suzanna is on the run to find a better life with Annie, her little girl. She is trying to make it to New Jersey, far away from Earl, her latest attempt and failure at love. Luckily, Suzanna meets so many good people on the way and she might be accidently mistaken for Darla Sue, a woman's long lost granddaughter.
Overall, I do recommend this book. I will be lookinf for additional works by Crosby. Special thanks to NetGalley, Bette Lee Crosby, & Bent Pine Publishing for the advance digital copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Another Bette Lee Crosby book that kept me up to the wee hours! Bette has a way of making you fall in love with her characters and root for them through the whole book! While Suzanna/Darla Jean had secrets and repeatedly told lies upon lies, she still was a character I loved from the beginning and wanted the book to end with her happiness! Ida was a woman that everyone would want for a Grandma and Earl was a despicable man who always seemed to get just what he deserved. I had an ending in mind as I read and was surprised at the end that it wasn't at all what I thought. I truly believe that family is who you love, just like Ida. It doesn't always have to be blood.

This is a beautiful family love story that will absolutely warm your heart!
"Some people are born into belonging to one another, and that's their family. But there''s another kind of family, one created by people who love each other and are willing to hold onto what they've found."

Quite by accident, Suzanna finds the grandmother she needs for both her daughter Annie, and for herself.
Who would it hurt to take someone else's name to finally find happiness?
Will Suzanna's conscious permit her to continue and actually become the lies and deceit in order to remain with this loving woman she and Annie adore so much?
Fear of being known are almost always present and not making this an easy transition, but Suzanna will do whatever it takes for Annie to find security and joy in her life.

You will no doubt love each character as did I. My very favorite being Annie, with innocence, hope, wishes,
honesty, sincerity and a huge heart of gold!
I truly hope that Bette Lee Crosby will have another novel on this family as they grow!
I cannot wait!

We all always have wished at some point or another to be someone else .., well Susanna Diff does just that. She doesn’t mean to but once the lies start they keep on coming.
She’s only trying to escape a bad relationship and give her daughter a real family.
Susanna lies to a nice elderly lady and pretends to be her long lost granddaughter in order to give her daughter a family, but Susanna discovers so much more.. love, acceptance, kindness, strength and unconditional love.
This book is true Bette Lee Crosby style, with love, grace and style on every page !
As a huge fan of this author I loved this book !

Bette is a master storyteller with stories that most definitely warm your heart. Loved the characters in this one. I’d love to see more of them in a sequel. Great read to take your mind off all the things going on around us right now and get lost in a world of second chances and making of a happy family and new life. Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for the ARC

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review -
I absolutely love Betty Crosby's books. Her books are so down to earth and heart warming.
Suzanna lost her mom and was left with a drunk dad - - so the lies begin.
She ends up pregnant and her dad kicks her out.
She decides to run away to make a new life for her and her daughter. She ends up going to a wake to find a free meal for them. There she meets Ida who thinks she's her long lost daughter come home. Suzanne doesn't tell her any different. They become friends and so many things change for each of them.
Suddenly the past sneaks in - what will Suzanne do? --- tell the truth or disappear again?
