Photos - 5/5 stars this book contains beautiful photos for each recipe. It is helpful for picking out which recipe to make as well as a visual of the end result.
Ease of ingredients - 4/5 stars. Most ingredients could be found at an average store. There may be a few under the chapter called “The Next Level” where the reader may need an ingredient from a bigger grocery store.
Variety - 4/5 There is a nice variety in here. I wish there were a few more recipes.
This was unique - most plant based cook books don’t have recipes with meat, eggs or dairy. This one has a few recipes with these ingredients. Still all recipes are loaded with fruits, veggies and grain - they are the star of the lunches..

Confession time: meal-prepping is not my friend. Just the thought of it makes me feel like I need a nap. This is a lovely cookbook with all sorts of healthy and eco-friendly recipes and plans. Snack recipes? I'm doing well if I remember to put some almonds in my pocket on the way out of the door. I'm just a tiny bit mad at this book for reminding me I can (and should!) do better.

I got this book, "Let's Fix Lunch" because I LOVE to cook & bake and I am also very interested in sustainability and eco-living, and since the description of this book in the listing said its, "An inspiring guide for anyone who wants to do their part to save the earth, Let's Fix Lunch! makes it simple to create a sustainable, waste-free home", I knew I had to get it.
Although this book has many tips on reducing waste and creating "litter-free" lunches, I have NOT yet been able to make any of the recipes in this book. Because due to the current coronavirus lockdown, it has been very difficult (especially since I am unable to drive due to disabilities and the local public transportation services which is minimal to non-existent even when there is NO lockdown has been shut down completely and grocery delivery services like Instacart, Shipt & PrimeNow have NO delivery slots available) to find the ingredients for the recipes. Even basic ingredients (like eggs, butter and flour) let alone more uncommon ingredients (like hazelnuts and tahini) seem to be out of stock at all nearby stores.
However, since I don't want to put off reviewing this cookbook until this coronavirus situation ends (whenever or if it even ever does!) I'm going to just post this review, and then if/when the lockdown ends, and I can get the ingredients, I will test some of these recipes and then come back and update this review.
In the meantime, I am giving this book 3 stars, NOT because I don't think it doesn't deserve better (because it probably or even likely does!) but because like I said, I am unable to test out the recipes right now. and so I don't want to give it either a high rating OR a low rating, but instead something neutral.
That being said, I really liked the various tips and suggestions to reduce waste, and the recipes look yummy, and I am looking forward to making some, many or even ALL of these dishes once the normal supply in the supermarkets & grocery stores is restored!
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think everyone is in a rut when it comes to making lunch currently. I also think we're having to do more meal planning when it comes to trying to get through a week or two before heading out to the store. This book addresses both of those issues in addition to trying to reduce waste. The photos are beautiful and the ingredients are easily found for the most part. Most of the recipes are low maintenance which fall in the time constraints of providing lunch fairly quickly for your family. Some recipes I'm anxious to try: apple streusel bars, spinach-feta frittata sandwiches, and crispy barbecue chickpeas. With a September release, it's a shame this book can't be released and enjoyed sooner.
Thanks to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Let’s face it - right now buying in bulk, making ahead and needing to store leftovers is at the top of everyone’s mind when thinking about food. Using as much as you can of each item, wasting less, storing better and more sustainably is going to help you AND the planet. And eating delish meals while doing so? Win-win!

What a great book! I honestly love everything about it. I love that this book cares about the earth and promotes a no waste lifestyle. I love the simplicity of the recipes and how easy this book makes everything seem. I love that almost every recipe is veg friendly and if it isn't, there are easy veg alternatives. I love the colour palette, the page layout and the pictures are fantastic. I also really like the tips at the end of the book. I can't wait to try some of these recipes!

Thank you to the author for putting together this book of easy and healthy lunches. I am getting tired of the same old lunch everyday and this book has given me a whole bunch of new yummy things to try!
